HBO's "True Blood" [merged]

There will be a season 7. More weird shit will happen. I will be watching. I will buy this season when it's released on Blu-ray next May. Because I have all the other seasons and don't want to ruin my collection. But mainly to see Eric in full 1080p and freeze frame.

This show sucks huge cock now.

Ever since Season 4 began this show has completely declined in quality (the only truly good episode was the season 5 finale with the woman's exploding head)... I'm shocked this shitty show gets so much attention on here while amazing shows like Breaking Bad and Dexter are ignored (granted, Dexter kinda sucks now too, but it sure as hell Citizen Kane compared to this dreck).

The only good characters are Arlene and Pam..... maybe Tara.... everyone else is garbage.

Interesting to see "sucks huge cock" used to mean "is very bad" on a site dedicated to gay men.

If you want to see Breaking Bad and Dexter get attention here, start threads for them. And if you're too dumb to see why this show gets attention (again, this is a site dedicated to gay men)...

...oh, go away.

^This.

yay.

Those long legs and those thighs :luv2: They should create a spin-off with Eric and all male cast :D I am not fond of the series anymore. They lost me when it stopped being about people and they brought the various groups into it.

Everybody capping "that" moment seems to be concentrating on Eric's penis, I actually liked the shots of his torso more

If you're going to play the 'subliminal' homophobic game with me by my dick sucking comment (a thing plenty of girls enjoy too), I'll bite back.

Gay men are not a demographic different from any others and aren't any easier to fool. I'm not going to drool and prance all over a show just because it shows a lot of hot guys asses and penises. This show has become a complete joke full of sex scenes and horrible special effect sequences that make absolutely no sense (the Warlow plot was just awful. Awful, as well as the whole 'peace' group/ Emma subplot).

I like shows that have intelligence, substance, and are exciting and that make me think and want to know what happens next. Breaking Bad, Madmen, Downton Abbey, Homeland, Game of Thrones, and Dexter (to name a few) have all done that for me. Sure, hot guys strutting their penises and asses around is a nice touch, but I don't need it to be a 'fan', nor do 99% of gay guys.

True Blood has turned into soft core (and uninteresting) porn drenched in blood. I hope the writers look back into Seasons 1-3 and study what made the show so good (and it had a lot of less sex and cheesy special effects back then). Otherwise, its pretty clear why this show's ratings continue to tumble. Has anyone heard season 7 may be the last?

PS - believe I tried starting a Dexter thread---- came on deaf ears unfortunately. This is one of the unpopular forums on the site so I'm not too surprised.

^thinking the same thing.

Yeah. Good for you (Mr. 'Curious' with over 1000 posts). Found it ironic that next to that was a sentence suggesting this show is popular with gay men for nudity and sex alone and not for plot and substance.

Yeah. The insults go both ways.

Meow.

So you don't like True Blood, people didn't care when you started a Dexter thread, you don't like JUB.

Why are you here? Serious question. Why are you on JUB at all if you hate the rest of us so much? More particularly, why come to a True Blood thread just to say "your show sucks"? Seems...well, kind of childish, to be honest. Why would you take the trouble to come and tell a bunch of fans of the show that it's no good? Are you really that desperate for attention?

Careful, the blind love for a show is making you accuse me of ridiculous things that I never said. I don't even need to defend myself because I know its hilarious you'd even suggest that because I think True Blood sucks now means I'm a self hating gay man who hates JUB. #-o

Don't worry. Me criticizing this show won't have any effect on your enjoyment of it or anything..... don't see why you seemed so threatened? Oh well. There are plenty of people on this thread that have offered criticism and that's what this merged True Blood thread is for.... criticizing and praising the show and not attacking each other for feeling different, yeah? If I was desperate for attention I'm very much winning because you're giving it to me, but I'm clearly done arguing with you because my points have been made. I feel like I offered legitimate criticism of the show beyond 'this show sucks now' so get over my different opinion than you and move on with your life.

Everyone is coming back, Pam & Eric, the producer already stated so. I think Pam will be the one to save Eric and this is how they are going to "bond" and become family again. I think Pam will have to help Eric heal because he will be burned. I think she will someone pull him under the snow or something and they will be stuck under the snow somehow, at least until night and then she can get him home or someone with just the two of them.

warlow's sudden 180 psycho act seemed laziness on the writing of the series
they should have just banished him into another realm hence his effect on other vampires would be gone like how billith couldnt feel him despite being his progenitor.

great cute actor, great character and possible storyline wasted this season.

in the finale, they should have thrown in nudity from jason and alcide to make this season snoozefest at least forgivable.

the whole season felt like fangless. its like watching heroes but in bon temps

The writing has been very lazy and uneven for the past few seasons.

*They should have kept and involved Rutger Hauer's character rather than just literally 'toss' him off. He was the BEST character the series has introduced in a while and he could have continued to bring forth much tension between Sookie and Warlow, making the audience continue to question Warlow's intentions with her.

*I agree that Warlow's 180 in the season finale was a disaster. I began to warm up to him and then all of a sudden (literally) we get slapped in the face with a new villain that gets killed off 10 minutes later. Disappointing.

*I loved the story arc of episode 9 with the vamps escaping from human captivity. But the parallel storyline of Terry's funeral was not only boring but the most bizarre use of two storylines in one episode that I've ever seen in any TV series.

*By killing Warlow the writers wasted a great opportunity for next season..... Vampires being able to survive in the day!!! Wouldn't that have brought great new levels of depth to the humans vs. vampire storyline (basically, humans can never escape them no matter what)? Also, hybrid ferries/vamps could have added a great new level of tension between the two species.... but alas.... the writers quickly disposed of this great potential. *sigh*

This season ended with a few high notes:

*Keeping Sarah alive and hopefully bringing her back. Her character was great and I would love to see what happens to her.
*Hopefully disposing of the tired werewolf vs. shifter storyline that I hated and thought was boring.
*Killing Eric. Should he come back I hope they don't wimp out and maybe introduce a new method bringing vamps back from their own true death (thus making us question what 'true death' really is?)
*Tara biting her mom. Also, Jessica approaching the ferry she tried to kill. Maybe there can be a new love/hate relationship between them.
*Sookie maintaining her hate for Bill. He should get a new love interest next season and try to win back Sookie's love through jealousy ( a great twist would be for Bill's new love interest to be the new villain).

I hope the next season goes back to the roots of season 1. A more simpler, united plot. Perhaps a new serial killer is targeting ferries in town while the Hep V vampires strike sending everyone of all species on edge? Would be great to have an exciting new mystery and fantasy show that the first three seasons were!

So I have yet to watch S6 so I have skipped through this thread. I just read that S7 will be the last and to be honest I am glad. I really feel it went down hill after S3. I still love Pam and Eric, Russell too and Jason the fool but it just seemed to loose something. However I still will watch S6 and 7.

I think it's the right decision to end it after Season 7 - the series has gotten very weak. It's just dragging on now.

Don't care that it's ending. I was actually happy when I heard. Especially considering the show is extremely homophobic. They're ok with homoeroticism, but not with a gay guy having sex.. WTF?! EVERYONE is getting laid EXCEPT Lafayette! Tara was rolling around in the bed with her lesbian girlfriend. When did we see Lafayette doing that with Jesus? OH YEAH, NEVER! Great representation that. Lesbians get to have sex, but gay men do not. Typical double standard. Fucking hypocritical.

I agree that it was the right thing to do. I think for me I started losing interest with the Lilith stuff. It bored me to death and after that, I don't think I was that interested in the show anymore. I still watch it of course but I'm kinda glad it's gonna end.
