Heroes - The Return Thread

I just wish the series stays on the present time, and let us see how the heroes kick Sylar's ass, instead of jumping forward and then backward. If Hiro goes back in time to kill Sylar, that means nothing of that episode would be happening, which means what is the point of having that episode?

Only breaks my heart to see Claire falling into Sylar's hand. But is this what she is going to be doing all the time? Running, got cut, heal and then run again? Do some move and learn to kick, Claire.

Notice the show is killing more characters off? Hmmm.. wonder who will be axed next.

So lets all get it clear, in order for Sylar to get powers he has to eat the brain of the superhero?

They have never actually showed it, is that what we are to assume?

That's what a lot of people are saying, but I think in most cases it's meant as a joke.

Personally I think he studies the brain to learn how their power works. Though I've heard somewhere along the line we will find out exactly what he does.

That makes more sense considering that Sylar's REAL power is the ability to understand how things work. It's not very useful on its own, but when you use it to understand the brains of people who can fly, it suddenly becomes very handy indeed.

By the way...I don't think we can expect NBC to separate season 2 into three separate parts next year. The whole "hiatus" idea that so many shows used this year seems to have back-fired. Instead of increasing ratings because of anticipation, the return ratings for Heroes and Lost and other shows that went on extended breaks dropped. The return episode of Heroes saw its lowest ratings of the season.

^ Sylar himself sort of answered that one.

He doesn't want, or need, any more powers...Well, except for Claire's...

And who can blame him? He's got D.L's phasing abilities, cryonetic powers, telekinesis, flight, and all that other jazz.

It would have been interesting if Mohinder hadn't taken down the Haitian when Sylar arrived, just to see if Parkman knew Nathan was actually Sylar...

Which wouldn't be hard to believe, he's a freaking mind reader for crying outloud!

See I was wondering about that. I thought that they said DL, Molly, and one other hero were in the same holding area as Hiro was.

I wonder what the Linderman Act actually entails too. Probably to round up all of "them."

I'd been under the impression that because Sylar actually had no ability he'd decided to take everyone elses which was the motivation behind his entire evil killing spree. I could be wrong though. After all, how exactly would you see how a power works just by looking at someones brain unless you had some kind of power yourself?

Also, I've heard that January will be the return date for a lot of our favorite shows. I've heard that for LOST, Desperate Housewives and Heroes so far. Obviously they'd be adapting the '24' approach of no repeats. I have no problem with waiting until January as long as I knew I could count on the show being new every single week until May.

Alright, anyone want Peter's scar explained?

No, too bad I'm telling you anways.

BEFORE Hiro travelled back and told Peter, "Save the Cheerleader, Save the World", Peter had never met Claire or knew of her existance. As such, Claire was killed at homecoming by Sylar and her power was taken.

As such, when the battle against Sylar came, Peter had no regenative ability, thus scar.

However, now that the time line has been changed, Peter would be immue to scarring in the future.

Upon further reflection, I think the Linderman Act would probably be a lot like the "Mutant Registration Act" in X-Men. Find out who and where they are, and what they can do. Essentially, a greater list for Sylar when he takes over.

Oh hell no.

I don't want that. Better be a rumor.

Don't you have November sweeps as well.

I wouldn't mind it coming back in January if it meant all new episodes non-stop.

Ummm... Don't be upset if I am wrong, but Claire did not die. If she did, she won't be in the '5 years into the future' episode that was shown recently. She was saved, but not by Hiro. She was saved by Hiro. Peter's scar must be due to other reasons, which won't be shown (and should not be shown) if Hiro managed to save the world when he goes back in time.

You know what is so frustrating? Poor escape story. Remember when Suresh managed to get Sylar unconscious? I would have killed him then, instead of letting him stay that way. Or Peter could have just 'freezed' Sylar in their duel in the recent episode and screwed Sylar up big time.

:grrr: :grrr:

I'd like to know more about what happened to Jessica? I see a lot of people are saying that Jessica left Niki, but maybe Peter "took" Jessica from Niki (maybe out of guilt for DL & Micah or something) & has approx 5 years worth of control over her or his own "dark" personality?

I don't know, LoL random guesses...but her or their storyline is my favorite...just wish they'd involve them more

first things first....peter looks fucken hot, especially with the scar.
and i'm totally like a fucken kid everytime i see the latest episode.
fucken awsome.

I'm pretty curious about that myself. Niki's power is still the biggest mystery as we don't know how it works exactly, wether it be multiple-personality or super human strength. I personally think Niki herself possesses super strength (As she's shown herself to use it without Jessica), but all the screwed up things that have happened to her has caused her to develop another personality that exhibit's "control" over that stregnth. I kinda hope they shed more light into that before the season ends.

I like your theory actually as it's one I haven't thought of myself. My personal favorite is that, like you said Niki is the one with the super strength. However, I believe that Jessica is an actual person, not a personality she made up and is calling her dead sister, and that Jessica had some dormant body switching ability that she only found out about after she was being killed by their father.

The problem with time-travel...Very confusing.

However, I think it's safe to assume that perhaps Hiro's power isn't actually time-travel.

What if, Hiro's power would actually be that as trans-dimentional jumping? Allow me to explain.

Prolbem: Future Hiro created time lines, that dictated that if Sylar was stopped from taking Claire's ability, New York would be safe.

Solution: Future Hiro travelled back, and told Peter to save Claire, which he did. However, when Hiro returned to his time, the world remained unchanged.

Problem: In Future Hiro's time, Past Hiro stabbed Sylar but he regenerated.

Solution: Since Hiro stopped Sylar from getting regeneration abilities, this should have prevented Future Hiro's timeline from occuring.

Ultimate Solution: Future Hiro is actually a trans-dimentional Hiro, the result of different potential outcomes from the entire year.

As such, there would be Hiros that saw Sylar defeated, however saw the world continue down it's dark path. Or ones that saw Sylar victorious over the other heroes.

Considering alternative dimentions are the only thing that allow continuity to exist with the Five Years Gone episode, that has to be the solution. Since Claire was alive in Five Years Gone, Hiro couldn't have stabbed Sylar in New York and have him regenerate, considering Sylar was also alive in Five Years Gone. One of these two characters HAD to die.

Also, notice Bennet's surprise when Ando tells him that Claire is alive. It's as if Claire wasn't killed at Homecoming, possibily due to Bennet and his team (Eden and the Haitian) stopping Sylar after he'd killed Jackie. Knowing what Claire could do, and not to mention what his Company would do, Bennet falsified Claire's death and hid her from Primatech and Her Family.

It's one possibility or the other people.

Therefore, the dimentions are not changable. The only current changable dimention would be the CURRENT one that we've seen for the past 19 episodes. It's events have yet to be determined, and rely on whether or not Hiro can succeed in stopping Sylar.

Of course, I don't know a damned thing about Time Travel, but this makes far more sense.

It also allows the open possibility of other questions to be answered.

Also! For anyone else interested, there's a Heroes RPG Board trying to get started located at: http://www.got-heroes.com/Role-Playing-aka-RPG-f32.html

Join up, and let's have some fun people...And yes, I'm Mr. Bennet.

However, that makes no sense.

Sylar "dies" when Hiro stabs him in New York, hoping to stop the explosion. However, if Sylar has Claire's regeneration, then he heals and New York goes boom...Even though Peter's the bomb.

However, since Peter stopped Sylar, if/when Hiro stabs Sylar, it will kill him.

This is what should have happened, however it didn't. As such, Sylar was still alive in Future Hiro's time line, when he should have been dead.

As such, there is one of two possible explinations:

1.) Alternative universe/dimention.

2.) A writing ploy that will say it didn't happen yet since past Hiro was in future Hiro's time. (IF they pick this option, I will be pissed.)

That's what's been confusing me. Everyone keeps saying that Sylar being alive in future Hiro's time is possible because he killed Claire in our timeline because Peter never 'saved the cheerleader'. But in either scenario, both wouldn't be alive, just one.

Only, the writers can't rationalize it that Sylar stole Eden's power because she clearly killed herself to stop that from happening.

Here's a thought I've been having though. Parkman reads minds and was in close contact with Sylar who was pretending to be Nathan, for who knows how long. Exactly how would Sylar not be thinking about killing all the 'specials' and all his other evil thoughts for Parkman to pick up on?

I think that whole thing with Eden and Sylar was left intentionally ambigious in case they needed to cover their asses later for some reason, but for the time being, I think we're supposed to assume that Eden shot herself.

The robotic voice, I believe, is added for effect, because remember Peter did the same thing in his little fight with Isaac. It could be someone's power and would explain why both Sylar and Peter can do it, but I don't think it's Eden's.

Also, remember Parkman looked shocked when Nathan pulled Peter through the door and turned into Sylar, so I don't think he knew. And if that's the case, why wouldn't he know is what I'm wondering, since he'd have been able to read his thoughts.

Meh.

I mean it was alright.

The only thing I really REALLY didn't like is the morphing chick (still don't know her name?) Evidently, she can make you see whatever you want to see.

Now we don't know what is real and what isn't. I mean obviously some things SEEM logical, but with this show they could be like "Oops! Just kidding! It was all fake." That's why I was fine with her morphing, not getting all Jason Stryker from X2 who can project images into your brain.

I have to admit, it made me really want to see next week's episode!

Agreed. Tonight was meh. But out of 21 episodes, I've only felt that way about 3 of them, so that's pretty good (you hear that LOST?)

What the hell is Linderman up to with all those records on D.L. and Niki? First thought that came to my mind was a Heroes Breeding Program. Of course, that has been suspected off and on for a while now, but man. Something is up.

Jessica didn't seem to concerned that Micah was missing, which goes directly against theories that Jessica only came out around Niki earlier because Micah was in danger. He's definitely in danger now and the only way she can be bothered to help is through Niki begging and D.L. dragging her ass through walls (loved his line there, btw)

Transformabitch continues to live up to her name.

Is it just me or do Claire and Peter still act a little too close to be niece and uncle?

Sylar is a monster. Gee, we knew that already. But did they really need to show us him first harming then killing his own mother?

I can't wait for the day Hiro FINALLY manages to get his powers right. I mean, I know only three weeks have passed in the show's storyline, but it's so frustrating to have such a powerful character seem so weak and useless.

Mama Petrelli is a dream seer. She has to be. It would explain why she's so snooty all the time with the look and tone that she knows more than you do. And hey...Peter can do it...

Molly!...Looks six, sounds 20. Just like Dakota Fanning.

Hey it's Ted, Parkman and Daddy Bennet. Oh and Peter's about to blow up. Daddy Bennet tells you he's absorbing your power, he looks kinda unstable, you might wanna move. So why didn't they?

Meh episode, but next week will rule. Oh and so will the finale. Post thoughts away so I can tear into them, lol.
