I have YET to be able to log in at justusboys.com, I have to log in at the /forum page.
I never log out. In fact, I wondered why I needed to log in when the forum updated. The threads that I have subscribed to and get the email updates have a link in them that takes me directly to that thread. Why log out if I will return tomorrow on my PC. Some of the threads don't Jump to the newest post, most do though.

I do not even get to that point. Clicking Media and then add gives me this message
I saw that you had posted a couple of pictures in show yourself off. Looks like it's working for you now?

Can somebody PLEASE help me restore daily digests? I'm not getting jack. I mean, all I see is an occasional, SINGLE-POST notification...which seems to be sent to my email with no discernible pattern. I might get two of these a day, though there are 10 to 25 of my watched threads getting posts, each day.

This has greatly diminished my entire experience with JUB, and I am very much missing the joy I've gotten from this site for nearly a generation now.

RELATED: Is there any way, anymore, to go to LAST POST READ? That would be a tremendous help, and it could even entirely supersede the above issue that I'm having. I do see a setting for Watched, and I opened that up, but I can only see where to go to the beginning of the thread, or the most recent post, neither very helpful.

Once you have read a thread, the next time you open it, it should automatically return the the point where you left off.

If you have a particular thread where you always want to return to the same post, you can use the bookmark feature to mark that post.

We're still looking into this. The feature exists in XF but it is designed to be a tickler. It assumes that if you visit the forum today, it shouldn't send you a digest today because you've already read the threads. The forum software is also set to hold off on sending the emails until you have been active for X number of days (the default for X is 14 days).

We're trying to see if there is a way to override this to send it regardless of whether you have read the forum but we also want to ensure that only the members who want that feature will get it since it has the potential of sending a lot of emails to members who may not want a daily email.

^ But, then, wasn't there an option to (un)check, which would disable daily digests, so if somebody didn't want them, they wouldn't receive them?

I did meanwhile notice that if I click on the thread title in my Watched threads summary, it takes me wherever I last looked. This is VERY interesting - and I like that feature! I don't know...I may even come to prefer it over the daily digests. I'll have to look for that Jump To New - I hadn't noticed it yet!

I've been known to sometimes find it rather difficult to adapt to changes...

There was an option like that in vBulletin and we converted the profiles from the old forum into the new forum.

If you look in your profile under Settings>Preferences, some of those old vB settings are there, even if the setting had been disabled long ago in vBulletin. An example that is visible to the moderators is the old Christmas Decoration setting, even though there's not a Christmas Decoration in the new forum- it's there but it doesn't do anything (and we've hidden it from regular members so that's it's not confusing to everyone).

The settings for emails is under Settings>Preferences>Email options (two of them are listed again under Privacy):
  • Receive news and update emails
  • Receive activity summary email
We will keep you updated about new content when you haven't visited for a while.
  • Receive email when a new conversation message is received
The "Receive activity summary email" is the option that controls whether the "digest" is sent. The sentence that I've bolded: "We will keep you updated about new content when you haven't visited for a while." is the difference between the two forums. Notice it doesn't say "daily". The new forum keeps track of your last visit and if you visited recently, it assumes you don't want an email for the activity summary, even if that box is checked. That's what we're trying to work through- to find a way to send the email even if you signed into the forum and read through the thread but we also have to make sure that we're only sending that email to the people who have knowingly opted in to the activity summary email.

I had a couple of weeks in early September to look around and find things before we changed over on 14-Sep-2022. I'm still finding new stuff nearly a month later. In most cases, the xenForo features are similar to VBulletin, just improved and more logical in many cases.

I've been known to sometimes find it rather difficult to adapt to changes...
It's human nature, especially when something is very familiar.

used to be able to edit/delete posts. I can't find how to do that now.
You should see an Edit link on the lower left of your posts.

Note that the time limit for edits on your account is 5 minutes.

I realize that but you used to be able to go into your profile and see all your past posts and there was an edit/delete post button. Where be that one? I think that will discourage people from posting if they have no control over what they put out there, no?

I think maybe you're remembering how to remove attachments in the old system?

Should you wish to have something removed after the edit time has expired, please use the "Report" link to submit a request.

thanks for fixing that for me.

This post is correct to subscribe is only to get email updates, an not daily digest.

Is there a way to put a WATCH button also at the bottom of a thread page? It seems counter-productive to have to scroll back to the top in order to click on the Watch button. I'm using a PC browser.

I'd also like to see the number of messages in a thread (while viewing the thread) like the old software used to do.
