On Topic Discussion Jared Fogle (the Subway guy) Pleads Guilty

I find it weird for a mature adult (perhaps over 21) to have sex with a 16 year old, I don't call it pedophilia, to me it's if a child is prepubescent that pedophilia is the proper term.

I never felt "molested" or abused, I understood that I was kind of hot and they wanted sex... I just never felt like a victim.

When you're 16, you think of someone 21 as being very senior. You would be much more susceptible to feeling overpowered.

I've been approached or looked at sexually pretty regularly ever since I was 9 or so. But by boys my age, maybe a year or two older, never by an adult. I didn't like it. (Except for one or two instances but that's another story my chickadees)

I think it was really just exploration and simply part of growing up together. It's creepy when it's an adult who knows exactly what s/he's doing or what s/he wants and a child who has no idea.

Using the power, dominance and authority differential to force a minor in these circumstances is victimization.

The difference was that Sandusky was a football coach. Look at the shit that ball players do that would get the rest of us landed in jail.

There is no difference, really. He wasn't coaching pee wee football. He was using a children's foundation to find his victims in a not too dissimilar way that Jared did. And yet the media LEFT NO AMBIGUITY that he was having sex with boys in the case of Sandusky. I feel that the media is putting that specter into Jared's molesting too so that the general public will make that association as noted in above posts.

I agree, but I had just gotten home from a place where younger boys were forced on a daily bases, at 15 my way of thinking was far different than most guys my age, being approached had been a daily occurrence, only having sex with those whom I choose made me feel like I had won, at least for another day.
No one ever forced me, the adults who approached me or touched me went away disappointed. Still, I don't feel like a victim to any sexual abuse. That doesn't mean that those who tried it weren't predators.

Apparently, his childhood obesity foundation was a complete sham:

Jared Fogle had something for minors, but it wasn’t money: Turns out his foundation to help battle childhood obesity did little but raise the Subway pitchman’s profile, USA Today reports. According to tax records, the Jared Fogle Healthy Lifestyle Nationwide School Grant Program spent an average of just $73,000 annually between 2009 and 2013 and never issued a grant. This despite Fogle’s promise to give schools and community organizations $2 million to battle the condition that so affected his own life.

“My goal is to help children avoid the physical and emotional hardships I went through living with obesity,” he said at the time, per a press release. The 2008 release outlined a plan to offer $20,000 grants to up to 50 schools (for a total of $1 million) in that same year.

Seems 60% of the non-profit’s documented expenditures went to executive director Russell Taylor, 43 (now jailed on child pornography charges), and 26% went who knows where.

Jesus Christ people there is an "edit" function do make use of it, I'm getting pretty tired of scrolling through all of these one-sided conversations.

^ A lot of people often 'quote' the entire post, sometimes when it's not even necessary, such as when they're simply offering an opinion on the topic. Most times, it's easier to quote the entire post without editing out the irrelevant portions. Sometimes, it's extremely difficult to figure out just what portion of the post they're commenting on. (By the way, I always edit so people reading it know exactly what I'm talking about.)

On long posts that I'm quoting, I usually do <snip> the post.

I have a feeling he'll be losing plenty of weight in prison. from what I hear the food is horrific. I hope he'll be praying for a subway sandwich for many many years.

any bets he gets sent to some "club fed" type prison where the prisoners live better than most of us? I hope not but it wouldn't surprise me if he did.

Steven

^^ Yeah he's going to federal prison.

But you can still get fucked up there. His best bet would be solitary in which he would get bored or delirious over, so he will request to go into general population to where the chances of him getting into issues are high. Probably not as much as in state prison but you can still get fucked up especially the pedos. lolz.
