I find it weird for a mature adult (perhaps over 21) to have sex with a 16 year old, I don't call it pedophilia, to me it's if a child is prepubescent that pedophilia is the proper term.
I never felt "molested" or abused, I understood that I was kind of hot and they wanted sex... I just never felt like a victim.
When you're 16, you think of someone 21 as being very senior. You would be much more susceptible to feeling overpowered.
I've been approached or looked at sexually pretty regularly ever since I was 9 or so. But by boys my age, maybe a year or two older, never by an adult. I didn't like it. (Except for one or two instances but that's another story my chickadees)
I think it was really just exploration and simply part of growing up together. It's creepy when it's an adult who knows exactly what s/he's doing or what s/he wants and a child who has no idea.
Using the power, dominance and authority differential to force a minor in these circumstances is victimization.
