From my understanding, this isn't an isolated case. There are reports from multiple boys (many of them minor -- I read about some of them being as low as 12) of them being sexually molested. Inappropriate display of body parts, touching, fondling etc. Are ALL of them lying?
 
Are ALL of them telling the truth?

The legal system usually deals with one case at a time. I tend to like that arrangement.

Shhhhh, you'll distract people from the fantasy that they, too, could've been a relatively successful actor that could ply anyone under 21 with liquor while they're starstruck despite the same saintly presence knowing their actual age isn't legal (for the liqour or, according to reports, the inappropriate sexual invites).

And for those claimin' money's the true motivator for complaints perhaps they could look at the anony excerpts, at least one of which wants no association with Spacey whatsoever, monetary compensation be damned.

My response to all stories of and accusations of this sort be it m/m m/f f/b m/g or what ever is to give the accused the benefit of the doubt and let him or her have their date in court without indicting the alleged victim. If the 18 year old drank booze or was ashamed that it happened and was reluctant to come forth with his story bears no weight as far as consent is concerned.
 
The "story" presented in the opening post isn't his story.

The only words alleged to be his are from his mother's second hand, absent from the actual scene, well after the incident (from 2 years ago???) claims.

Someone has convinced the district attorney to pursue the matter, but who? The 18yo, or his (seemingly overbearing and irresponsible) mother? We have no way of knowing.

And legally pursuing the matter doesn't guarantee a conviction.

The DA has to show probable cause to bring charges, if it goes to trail and Spacey is convicted of the crime the verdict can be used in a civil suit. If Spacey pleads no contest then the results of his criminal trail could not be used in a civil trail. Any time a person with some money is accused I have to ask if a civil law suit is the motive for the accusation.
 
....Not incidentally, buying someone drink after drink after drink in the hope you can get 'em wasted enough to not/stop object/ing during a grope with minimal protesting - someone not legal for liquor from strangers, in particular, seeing as it's Massachusetts -

When someone isn't considered adult enough to drink responsibly on their own and ya buy 'em booze & grope them after their faculties flee it's kinda ......very difficult not to consider sexual assault. Not many care for the 'I thought they were older!' cries of appeal some people give - particularly when the Club Car Restaurant also serves people under 21. Food, even, because the place isn't a dive bar where you'd expect the groping after 10, the first mental image of Nantucket not withstanding. At this point I'd think they've got something on tape somewhere about who was giving drinks to an underaged whom and how often someone got handsy without consent. Sexual assault involves physical touch - questions like "Wanna fuck?" just don't cut it. Apparently Spacey's groping habit was rampant enough that he became a predatory in-joke at a local watering hole - and Hollywood. Seems he's made a bit of a lifestyle out of the behavior so I think it probably got caught on video, we being all tech-happy these days.

(and what kind of fuckup buys someone many a drink in a place that isn't 21+ carded at the door without checking if they're legal first unless they don't give a damn about consequences?). I'd think the grey area on whether groping someone you got wasted who isn't allowed to drink and whose faculties have been diminished via your wallet .....where is it that fine white line exactly?.

-Edited to add, and I mean actually checking the ID. Or you could go the simpler route by saying "Put theirs on my tab" when they order and wait for the bartender to card 'em. Y'know, like responsible adults who care that teenagers aren't passing themselves off as older to acquire booze.
