Looking - Season 2

What did you guys think of the Dom/Lynn restaurant management situation this past episode?

I can understand Dom just wanting to jump out there and open his own restaurant, but sometimes you have to "pay your dues" and climb your way up the latter a bit. I totally get why he was pissed at Lynn though.Hopefully, this won't lead to some big drama/distancing between the two of them. I really like them as a couple.

So I've been debating with myself that maybe just maybe I was a little too brutal on the 1st season & compared it too harshly to Sex & City/Queer As Folk/Girls/etc instead of enjoying it for what it was, BUT I'm definitely enjoying this current season more for whatever reason. Its not my favorite show of all time or anything, but its always nice to see gays portrayed as people rather than props. Hoping they keep up the momentum!

The show has Russell Tovey in it, thus, it is worth watching

I agree with this assessment. I smelled this coming from the first season when they first got together. Lynn seemed so successful and Dom honestly seemed like a loser who has been riding on his looks for the past 20 years. I mean 40 year old with a roommate I think would be a problem, especially with someone over 50 who is trying to date you.

This action was Lynn's way to both help the person he was dating, but also to try and bring him closer to his "level" in terms of accomplishment and income. I think Dom is just really naive about what it takes to get to where he wants to be as well. He has not proven anything other than the fact that he has been a waiter for the past 20 years...

I think this issue will end up driving them apart, and while apart Dom will realize he needs to grow up and work for what he wants in life, and Lynn will lower his expectations and realize that everyone can't be his "equal" in terms of success...

I've got the episode from last week on IQ which I'll watch today. I have to say I find it a bit of a talkfest and not all that engaging but that said, I've watched every episode, so there has to be something in it that keeps me watching. I just don't know what it is.

In need of a fix....missed it not being on last week....can't wait(!)

Well, technically Kevin is

No spoilers - the last episode was entertaining, especially the Dom scene. Overall, I enjoy more and more this show :D

Berlin: Andrew Haigh on Surprising With '45 Years' and the Future of 'Looking'

The British director and "Looking" producer spoke with Indiewire in Berlin about working with Charlotte Rampling for "45 Years" and the future of the HBO show.

You must have learned a lot about fickle audiences working on a show like "Looking." From episode to episode, my friends are constantly divided; they're on board one week and crying foul the next.

Of course; it's insane. Before the show came out, people had already decided whether they hate it or love it. I understand it, there's so little gay representation on screen so there's a lot of pressure on it. But it's a pressure that we can't possibly live up to. They want it to be something that it's not going to be. And I read things sometimes by some people and I'm like, "You are insane. We've never said that's what this show is. Why do you think it's that show?" Some people love it and some people hate-watch it and tweet about how much they hate it while watching the episodes, which to me is the act of a crazy person. Why would you do that? Just turn it off. So I find it a very strange concept and it's very hard for us who work on "Looking" because we're all from like a low-key background. We're not TV execs.

Richie is FLAWLESS :) I have reviewed the thread and I do not see what you are referring to... Plus he's got that post holiday season slight weight gain thing goin on this episode, so hot. *|*.

Ok, I had a week long hiatus because of no Internet, but finally caught up!

The last episode was definitely entertaining and I knew shit was going to hit the fan with Patrick and Kevin. I wish Richie's new guy was not a red head, well not that red head, but it makes me happy that this fictional character is happy with him lol. Kevin is so weak, There has to be more to his story if he can't even break up with someone he professes not to enjoy.

Dom shoulda took the job. This croud funding thing I don't foresee going too well. And it sucks Lynn is emotionally unavailable...But I think Dom is not going to take no for an answer on that one.

Damn I can't wait til Sunday.
