Lost: The Final Season!!!!!! Feb. 2, 2010!!

I love this show... i cant believe it's the end :D

This show has never ceased to amaze me, last episode answered a lotta questions and I think i'll be happy with the ending ...

Last episode's "answers" were all so lame and rushed. This is shaping up to be the most unsatisfying series finale Ive ever seen. And the most offensive thing is how the smug producers know that people are so hooked that they can do any shitty thing they want and still have people hooked. They pimp out as many "specials" as possible, that answer nothing, just b/c they know they have people hooked who will watch anything Lost related. And you know for years to come theyre gonna tease people with possible Lost movies. Now they are showing a repeat next week, before the finale the week after. WHo does that?

The finale is Sunday night from 7 - 11:30pm so there are no repeats in between that I know of, unless they show one right before the finale.

seriously, i cannot believe how much i disagree with people's opinions about this season. last episode seriously answered a lot of questions in terms of why jacob chose the main cast to come to the island.
and joesman is right; the finale's this sunday.

7-9 is a special 2 hour series recap. 9-11:30 is the actual finale.

On Saturday they are airing an "enhanced" version of the pilot episode. I'm actually looking forward to that and seeing all the annotations that show connections from the first episode to the last.

The U.S. west coast and the rest of the world will see the finale. . .at the same time. Example, at 9:00pm Sunday Pacific Time, the UK will be watching at 5:00am Monday morning. They are doing this to thwart pirating of the show and keep spoilers to a minimum. The U.S. East coast people are the only ones to see it first (we'll try our best not to spoil it for the rest of you blokes;) )

I guess this show has never been big with the gays. This is a major television event that is happening in two days, and nobody is discussing. Whereas somebody starts a thread about poop, everyone on these boards are all over that shit.:##:

Well....there really isn't more to say until the finale. Even though I am looking forward to watching it, I admit I am a little burnt out on all the LOSTLOSTLOST articles/shows going on. I see it everywhere I turn.
But having said that, Sunday nite's show is going to be awesome, from what I hear. :)

I am excited about the finale, and then I am nervous that it will be a disappointment somehow.

This recruitment that Desmond is doing - is this the effort to stop it all from happening all together. No Island, no plane crash, no cripple Locke anymore - he did say he was just trying to get Locke to change and was not trying to kill him when he hit him with the car. maybe my imagination is stymied by all the possibilities.

Lying in bed, in my cold/flu enduced state, I realized how this is all going to end. Stop now if you don't want to know my guess......

The battle between good and evil, between MIB and Jack, is going to happen both ON the Island AND in the Sideways timeline at the same time. One in 2007 (island) and one in 2004 (Sideways Timeline). The SWT Losties are slowly having realizations about their Island life. Well, since Island Jack is now a "believer", and SWT Jack will get his memories, there is no sense in having TWO believers in SWT....Jack and Locke. Going back a sentence, since everyone is remembering their Island life,....whose Island Life is JOHN LOCKE going to remember? His, or MIB?
I have been trying to figure out how the two timelines were going to merge into one to complete the same goal. There not.
Locke is being "encouraged" by his memories to get fixed so he could get out of the chair. He is going to become MIB (in thoughts, though maybe not in "smoke monster abilities"). THAT is how MIB gets off the Island. By never even leaving the Island.
When everyone in SWT remembers who they are, the battle will also take place THERE, in 2004. At the same "time" the battle will also take place (to destroy MIB) in 2007 on the Island. I have a feeling that the connection between Island and SWT is the the Island Losties will also get the memories of SWT, each knowing what is happening to the other. Jack will have to kill MIB/Locke in SWT, and Jack will have to kill MIB/Locke on the Island.

There, I am done. (and going back to bed because I have to get up in 6 hours for work! Ugh...)

My head hurts :(

I can't wait for the finale!....hope it's an epic ending...the episode that past...was nice...answered some of the questions...

Yea I was wrong about when the finale was. Sorry. But how can you satisfied by those answers? After all the mysteriousness they came to the island because they were all lonely and searching for meaning. WTF. Isnt everyone at some point or another. Geez that is dumb.

Lets not forget all the huge mysteries that were supposed to be important but were completely abandoned. Claire's child is important and cant be raised by another. Anyone remember that? Or that Walt is this special child who has special powers to kill birds with his mind. That's outta there too. The writers are full of shit when they say they've had everything planned. BS

i think you're missing the point of jacob's explanation. since the first season it was shown that the characters' lives were complete shit. no matter what they did or what happened to them, they were never truly happy. they never had true meaning in their lives. kate found meaning after becoming a mother. and yes, she was genuinely happy for the first time in her life when she had aaron.

aaron was never supposed to be important. the psychic said that claire MUST raise her baby or terrible things would happen. claire was separated from aaron for 3 years, and kate raised him instead. and indeed in those 3 years and beyond terrible things DID happen. and there may be more to come.

lindelof and cuse admitted in many interviews that they had to drop a lot of stories they wanted to expand upon since they introduced more things that they felt were important. walt was one of them.

and if there are any other mysteries that you think haven't been cleared up, i'd like to discuss them :D

After just rewatching this week's "What They Died For" (which I think I enjoyed much more the second time) I wonder if we will ever get a glimpse of what would have happened if none of the candidates volunteered to replace Jacob. Jacob said "then this ends very badly" when Jack questioned about nobody replacing him. Surely the finale will be showing us the ending based on Jack's decision, and it will be the "happy ending". But I wonder if we will get to see the how badly the alternative would have been. Maybe we will see with the alternative endings that will be shown on Jimmy Kimmel after the finale tonight.

See y'all on the other side. . .:corn:

Ok I'm not quite done. After my last post, it clicked with how I think this will go down tonight. We have already seen the outcome if Jack had not volunteered (or ever crashed on the island to begin with) to become candidate; the island is destroyed (by MIB) which we saw underwater in this season's opener. The bomb (jughead) last season did prevent the 815 crash, thus destroying the island because the candidates never arrived to help Jacob save it in the first place. But Desmond, our space and time traveling hero, knows all this, which is why his plan is to take Jack out of sideways world back to the other reality on the island to resume Jacob's plan. Hurley, Kate, and and Sayid will assist Desmond. Jack is going to have to make the sacrifice to leave his son and wife (Juliet) in his happy sideways life to save everyone else's. Jack will eventually be left alone on the island with smokey (I assume will be in the form of either Sawyer or Locke) keeping him away from the island's light.

Of course, all of that just raises more questions. But that is the way of Lost.

Ok, now I'm really done speculating. Time to just relax and wait out for "The End".:corn::corn:

idk, the only really "big" mysteries that will annoy me if they go unanswered are Walt's specialness and the inability to have babies on the island.

just about everything else I'm perfectly willing to toss off as unimportant (polar bears, etc) or coincidence meant to show the importance of destiny (the numbers).

*** spoilers ***

supposedly Walt will be in tonight's episode in some capacity

*** spoilers ***

actually the pregnancy issues on the island have been answered. according to juliet, "The problem occurs somewhere during the second trimester, when the mother's immune system is triggered. The white blood cell count plummets. It's like the … immune system turns on the fetus." so we can infer that the problem comes from the healing properties of the island, which we know exists due to locke being able to walk and rose being cured of her cancer. but the healing properties treat pregnancy like a sickness and the baby like a parasite.

the numbers were revealed to be the equation that predicts the end of the world in some supplementary material. the fact that the final 6 candidates correspond to them has to relate to that somehow.

polar bears were escaped dharma experiments. they were testing to see if they could allow them to survive in a different climate.

god, i'm excited for tonight
