Lost: The Final Season!!!!!! Feb. 2, 2010!!

^....lol...because I hate calling it "flash sidewards" world, and it's quicker than typing "alternate universe". I started using that phrase before the first episode of this season and before I heard the term "flash sidewards" (god, what a dumb term!). The title of the first episode this season was "LA X", as in "X universe" ....an alternate timeline.
So...."P-X" was (and will continue to be, so deal with it, ;)) my way of referring to the Parallel Universe that Jack and the gang, are now living in, having never gone to the island.
There....you feel better now? ;)

Ohhh thanks Dola... yeah of course it was better than most on TV ;)

that episode was BANANAS!!!

Hell Yeah !!!

I loved every minutes of it

- First the Flash sideways... well now we know that this other reality is not just different post-crash but also pre-crash. Good to see Hurley, Rose & Helen. BTW Locke please call Shepard !!!

- I loved the smokey-cam

- RIchard being all scared was awesome. we dont get to see him like that !

- So now we're talking about "candidates" to protect the island. Ok why not. So Jacob knew he would die ??

- Ilana seems to know a lot (he's recruiting/he's stuck this way) and I think it was cool Sun wanted to bury Locke.

- THE KID : when I first saw him i was like : it's Aaron. Then I thought it might be Jacob. But for some reasons I think it's Aaron. He was very headstrong, and directive for a kid. Not scared of Esau and told him "you cant kill him". Is he the one who makes up to rules ?

- The name / numbers : I love the idea of all those names crossed out, and the fact Jacob dragged them to the island to choose a candidate. I've seen Littelton's name crossed out (Claire or Aaron ?), Razinski crossed out, and Lewis crossed out. (No sign of juliet) We have to figure out which Kwon is involved maybe both.

One question remain : Why Kate isnt wrriten down ? and Locke doesnt refer to her. I mean she's supposed to be an important character, and Jacob went to see her, so why isnt she on those rocks ?
There must be something or some reason why Jacob eliminated Kate as a potential candidate. (She lied to Jacob in the past saying she wont steal anymore, and she's a fugitive). So why is she back to the island ? why was she thrown in 77 with Shepard and Reyes ? why was she on the plane ?

so many questions remains...

I do not think it was intentional to leave Kates name out of the list FLock was going thru. I have a feeling that the scene was edited for time reasons, and it was probably trimmed out for that reason, or by accident. Or else James, who has the hots for Kate, would have mentioned something.
BTW----on another (LOST forum) site, someone mentioned the poster on the wall behind John when he was in Rose's office. It looks very much like Desmond and Kate. Check it out quickly on Hulu . com or something.

I checked out the poster. The man does resemble Desmond, but the woman does not look much like Kate. Actually the face kinda looks more like Shannon's (who will reappear this season). But I don't think this poster is anything.

I loved this Sawyer, Flocke, and Locke episode. Very solid acting by everyone in this episode.

I think this was supposed to be "the" episode that gave us answers about the numbers. I suppose it gave us an answer (in the form of another question). But it does not answer anything how the numbers we have been seeing appearing everywhere for six years happened to be the same as the numbers on the cave wall. I don't suspect we will ever know how anyone/anything had such power to cause that.

The numbers correspond to the intertwined lives of the main (oceanic 6) characters. The numbers were important together, because those characters were (necessary?) important together. Each of them has some role or task, which in the end is going to have an effect on the (history? Safety?) of the island.
I have to admit though,....I am really getting burnt out on jacksawyerkatejacksawyerkatejacksawerkate. It's been like that for the last two seasons. I know the producers have a limited number of episodes left, but there ARE other Losties who were important to the storyline in the past, and whom I would like to see more about now.

Yes we all know that now, that part is obvious to anyone that watched this week's episode. But as I (intentionally) implied in my last post, how did Hugo's winning lottery numbers end up being those same numbers? And his car's odometer? And the serial number on the hatch? and so on.

I think what is becoming clear, we won't be getting many answers on the "how?", but only for the "what?". What the numbers represent, yes. How they happened, I doubt it. The same deal will be for the smoke monster. What it represents, yes. How it came to be, don't hold your breathe.

I have a feeling that the producers were not completely honest a few years ago (a couple of seasons in) when they said..."oh, we've had it worked out from the beginning, all the way to the end, from the first day we started." I have a feeling that...not expecting LOST to be the huge hit it was....were flying by the seat of their pants for most of the series. I mean, come on....
"Walt is the key to everything. He is SPECIAL"..."Oh, wait, he's not important anymore....off you and your father go on a boat. Bye."
"John Locke is the key to everything. He knows the TRUTH."...."whoops, he's dead. Nevermind."
"You cannot change the past. You cannot change the past. You cannot cha......oh, let's blow up a bomb! Oh, look! We changed the past."

Looking back on the series as a whole...I give it a 7 (ok, maybe 8ish) out of 10. They could have put a little more thought into it.

Well I think its intentional Kate was not mentioned...

- SInce the first season Kate has been on every list Jacob has made even tho she was not a little angel before they crashed.

I dunno, can you imagine those are the last episodes we're watching...

I feel depressed

I don't know whose side I'm supposed to be on anymore. I felt a little sorry for Flocke...

O.K....here is the way I see it. "You are not protecting anything. It's just an Island!" Flock, I feel, is either lying, or truly misunderstands....or is being mislead by his own selfishness. Remember....John Locke was crippled before landing on the island. Rose's cancer disappeared while she was on the island. Flock, I think, is a "Doubting Thomas", who in the end, will realize he was wrong.

Originally, they only planned three or four seasons: when the show became a much bigger success than anticipated, they had to write extra material. I think that hurt the show a lot.[/QUOTAl

Although all I've ever heard them say is that they knew how they wanted it to end, not necessarily how they were going to get there.

And, for me, I can't fault the show. It's given me a little faith in television which I hadn't watched in a long time until LOST started. And this season is of to a strong start and I'm sure it's only going to get better as it progresses.

'Jacob has a thing for numbers' is the biggest cop out ever
That line did seem a bit cheap. We've come this far to get answers about all the numbers and that's the answer they give us? Hopefully that was an intentional delay and we'll get a better explanation before the show ends.

I do think it was just a fun lines. I actually found it funny.

I was thinking that we are slowly seeing how the survivors of O815 recreates the strucutre of the island when they came in.

- Locke becomes MIB
- Claire is the new rousseau
- Sayid is the new Ben as he was saved by the island
- Sawyer is the new Desmond

and so on ...

or maybe im just crazy

I like the idea but could you elaborate on the Sawyer/Desmond connection? I don't see it.
