  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

Most urinals have partitions

While some of it is privacy a reason why it was done as we piss it splashes on us and anyone left or right etc It was not soley done for homophobic reasons!

^ Only a problem when the idiot next to you stands about a foot and a half away and pisses like a racehorse.....but yes.....this is also why some have appeared...particularly where the urinals are tightly spaced.

And it is only some. I know there are as many new and retrofitted bathrooms with no partitions as with in my travels so I'm not sure why the OP thinks that they are now universal.

With all of the tiny spy cameras available, does anyone think that they are safe from peepers?
The partitions only impair the normal peepers, the true perves will find a way.

Judging from the quick google on the Coppertone Girl, I would say it probably changed due to the fact a female child was being sexualised to sell a product. Its a creepy fucking logo, and people finally had enough of it.

The interesting thing to me is that for years and years they had that logo and no one thought of it as sexualised - it was just humorous.

Are people becoming more sensitive or is it just sex is such a major part of marketing that now people assume it is supposed to be "sexy" as opposed to thinking it is cute?

Sorry, but not being able to easily perv on men in toilets anymore does not mean 'homophobia'. Are we really complaining about people being able to appreciate a little personal space in their daily lives?

I can't say I've ever even questioned the presence of partitions/stalls/walls in bathrooms, much less viewed them as an obstacle :\

I didn't say anything about perving on men in toilet. You all are taking a few things I've said and completely blown it out of proportion. I didn't realize there were so many right-wing conservative gay people on here. I was just wondering why the change after so many years of no partitions to partitions everywhere. But of course no one wants to believe that but I guess it doesn't really matter what anyone thinks of me. It's not like any of you would have any room to judge me considering you all are on a porn site anyway. LOL! Everyone needs to get off their moral high horse. I'm just so certain that all of you have never lusted after a hot guy you saw in public. I do have class and etiquette and I don't have to fit in with all the "popular" twinks and people that frequent gay bars and establishments to be a classy person.

You are probably a twink that didn't grow up in a time where they didn't have partitions so of course you wouldn't question it. I ask questions. I'm not a conformist that's afraid to ask questions about changing cultures.

I never said outlaw partitions. I just said what caused the change? I'm interested in the psychological/cultural aspect of it. I'm sure the awareness that there are gay men does make straight men more self-conscious even though most of us including myself are respectful of others' privacy.

The Coppertone Girl logo was not a creepy logo. It was innocent nudity. I don't care what anyone says of me for my opinion on that. People have gotten too radical. She was not being sexualized! I don't care what anyone has to say! People's opinions don't matter to me! Screw all the right wing BS!

^ I think that a lot of people have answered your question. Very clearly and very succinctly.

There's really not a lot more to write on the topic.

You are also starting to take general responses as personal attacks and insults when it is clear that the term pervert, for instance was not being applied personally against you. And why should you really care if it is? We don't know you. We're never going to meet. You are just typed words as far as anyone is really concerned.

I think that you've made it perfectly clear though that the only opinion you care about is your own and that of anyone who agrees with you.

Time to stand back and get some perspective. Otherwise your time here will be short and none of us wish for that, now, do we?

I know it was directed at me. I don't back down from a fight!

Well then...continue to hill the silt atop your own tomb then......

You criticise others for 'blowing things out of proportion' and yet there you go making plenty of assumptions and conclusions of your own there (some of which was pretty judgmental) But ok.

And while I'm not calling you a pervert, your continued fascination with people's personal space in public bathrooms is pretty dubious at best. You keep circling around this 'discussion' of 'WHAT HAPPENED TO THE GOOD OLD BATHROOMS' as if this change is some kind of negative, so make of that what you will.

Cross-examining people's right to privacy is not being as respectful of it as you seem to think.

It's perverted and dirty minds that think the Coppertone Girl was sexualized.

I think that the federal laws about child porn is what brought about the end of her, just like underwear companies quit using boy models, people play it safe.

As I said before I just wanted to try to figure out why men have become more modest/prudish and concerned about privacy when they weren't before. Back in the day guys that didn't shower and change with other guys after gym class were called sissies but now it's the complete opposite for guys that do that now fear being considered or called gay. Just like decades ago women were made to be more modest and covered up more while men walk around shirtless and skinny dipped with other guys. Now guys cover up more and women show a lot off at the beach. I'm gay so of course I find male nudity fascinating the same way a straight guy from the movie Porky's would want to see gals in the in shower. Why is it that when guys want to see girls that's normal but guys with other guys or seeing another guy nude is somehow "perverted?" Don't let the right wingers brainwash you. My thread subjects are more based on psychology/history/culture than sexuality.

Its the pinup girl face she is pulling. Loads of girls have written about how they were put off sun tan lotion for years as children because how much they hated the image as well.

I understand what you are saying and realize people are skittish now about everything because people don't want people to get the "wrong idea." I just think it is going a bit overboard when people start changing classic logos to appease the religious nuts, teabaggers, right wingers, and pc crowd.

Tiger Beat still uses boy models for underwear and it is perfectly legal. I remember when I was a kid they'd have ads and commercials that featured fathers and sons wearing the same brand of tighty whities.

I'm not an attorney but from what I've read is that not all child nudity is considered child porn (it has to fall under the guidelines of being sexual explicit or implying a sexual act).

I know I shouldn't have to say this but I'll say to the ignorant and paranoid people on this forum: NO I DON'T like looking at children.

Nudist pictures and nude photos of people in the National Geographic do not fall under the title of pornography or child pornography either.

A grandmother was once arrested and later exonerated for taking a nude picture of her granddaughter but she was only arrested because of the paranoia of the photo lab. It wasn't considered a sexually explicit photo so she wasn't prosecuted.

There was a time period when photo labs were calling the cops on a lot of parents for taking photos of their babies in the bathtub. Everyone has a bath tub pic of them as a baby/toddler. Now that parents have digital cameras they don't have to worry about paranoid people in the photo labs trying to get them prosecuted for an innocent photo of their own child.

But yes it's good to play it safe.

You are entitled to your opinion and I know nothing I say will ever change it especially regarding my motives for posting the thread which I'll repeat is more about psychology/sociology/culture/history/human relations than it is about sexuality. I don't disrespect anyone's privacy. Asking questions is not doing that. I'm not calling Congress to pass a law to ban partitions. lol. Enjoy your leak and know the partition will keep you safe from prying eyes. May the partition be with you!

...................I don't care what anyone has to say! People's opinions don't matter to me! .................

For someone participating on an open forum I do find that comment slightly offensive.

Why, if this is the case, are any of us bothering to take part in the discussions that you have initiated?

What did you mean that my time would be short? Are you implying I could be banned simply because my opinions differ than others and that I strike by at those who call me obscene names? I do feel there are some are here that want me banned just because they don't like my threads and posts. I would think if there is an issue the moderator or whomever is in charge would contact me, warn me, or tell me if I'm breaking a policy. I don't know what policy that would be though.
