I'm not sure why the OP thinks that they are now universal.
Judging from the quick google on the Coppertone Girl, I would say it probably changed due to the fact a female child was being sexualised to sell a product. Its a creepy fucking logo, and people finally had enough of it.
Sorry, but not being able to easily perv on men in toilets anymore does not mean 'homophobia'. Are we really complaining about people being able to appreciate a little personal space in their daily lives?
I can't say I've ever even questioned the presence of partitions/stalls/walls in bathrooms, much less viewed them as an obstacle :\
^ I think that a lot of people have answered your question. Very clearly and very succinctly.
There's really not a lot more to write on the topic.
You are also starting to take general responses as personal attacks and insults when it is clear that the term pervert, for instance was not being applied personally against you. And why should you really care if it is? We don't know you. We're never going to meet. You are just typed words as far as anyone is really concerned.
Time to stand back and get some perspective.
I didn't say anything about perving on men in toilet. You all are taking a few things I've said and completely blown it out of proportion. I didn't realize there were so many right-wing conservative gay people on here. I was just wondering why the change after so many years of no partitions to partitions everywhere. But of course no one wants to believe that but I guess it doesn't really matter what anyone thinks of me. It's not like any of you would have any room to judge me considering you all are on a porn site anyway. LOL! Everyone needs to get off their moral high horse. I'm just so certain that all of you have never lusted after a hot guy you saw in public. I do have class and etiquette and I don't have to fit in with all the "popular" twinks and people that frequent gay bars and establishments to be a classy person.
You are probably a twink that didn't grow up in a time where they didn't have partitions so of course you wouldn't question it. I ask questions. I'm not a conformist that's afraid to ask questions about changing cultures.
I never said outlaw partitions. I just said what caused the change? I'm interested in the psychological/cultural aspect of it. I'm sure the awareness that there are gay men does make straight men more self-conscious even though most of us including myself are respectful of others' privacy.
It's perverted and dirty minds that think the Coppertone Girl was sexualized.
You criticise others for 'blowing things out of proportion' and yet there you go making plenty of assumptions and conclusions of your own there (some of which was pretty judgmental) But ok.
And while I'm not calling you a pervert, your continued fascination with people's personal space in public bathrooms is pretty dubious at best. You keep circling around this 'discussion' of 'WHAT HAPPENED TO THE GOOD OLD BATHROOMS' as if this change is some kind of negative, so make of that what you will.
Cross-examining people's right to privacy is not being as respectful of it as you seem to think.

I think that the federal laws about child porn is what brought about the end of her, just like underwear companies quit using boy models, people play it safe.

I think that you've made it perfectly clear though that the only opinion you care about is your own and that of anyone who agrees with you.
Time to stand back and get some perspective. Otherwise your time here will be short and none of us wish for that, now, do we?
