NAACP passes resolution blasting Tea Party 'racism'

Yeah. Mocking people on the basis of race is a hoot.

There was a time when we, the people, could laugh at anything, even ourselves.

The moral bankruptcy of the liberal mentality has pretty much destroyed that, and that is clearly not a good thing.

If you are unable to see the humor implicit in that little piece of satire, then it is fair to say that the twin diseases of liberalism and political correctness have robbed you of perspective and sucked all of the humor out of your soul.

It is actually a very clever piece when you analyze the words carefully and avoid knee-jerk reactions.. The author has used the incendiary word 'colored' as a metaphor for the dumb masses who voted Obama into office, a great many of whom have abdicated all personal responsibility for themselves and want the government to take care of them. If you don't believe that, then you should take a look at all those pre- and post-election interviews with Obama supporters who thought he was going to fill their gas tanks and make their car payments for them.

it was a revenge piece to get back at the naacp for daring to cross them. Being the insane mob that they are, they acted innapropriately.

you don't make much sense, since the people within his group were so outraged that he posted this thing, that he pulled it down and apologized.

don't you have it when you defend something that a person does and they even admit later that it was indefencible. THAT is a knee jerk reaction.

The longer the tea party keeps Mark Williams as spokesman … the more the accusation will stick.

i can't imagine that they wont unstick. this is the liberty bell that frees us from the teabaggers.

everything they do and say will be filtered through this bad behavior.

He isn't an offcial spokesman.
The Tea Party people do not have a central authority - they are simply a loosely organized group of people. No one person officially 'speaks' for the tea party movement.

If you take a careful look at what he wrote, you will see that he pulled the piece as a quid pro quo for the NAACP backing down just a bit. Hardly a denial.

the NAACP never backed down. He was told roundly far and wide that he had acted innapropriately and was misrepresenting the NAACP by saying they called the entire organization racist, which we all know, they did not. the NAACp did not criticize the group, they criticized its leadership for tolerating hate within its ranks.

He then acted as if they had somehow changed their position and he pulled down the letter. as for what the truth is?

after all the bad press he earned his party as spokesman going on all the talk shows and media outlets, he realized no one would listen to him due to that letter. he had kneecapped himself.

this guy is self serving and not interested in real discussion. I saw him on show after show on all the channels. He was litterally cut off the air over and over again, because when they asked him about the letter, he started jabbering about the new black panthers.

so your spin and his are a joke. He realized the terible wound he had made on his own organization by personally verifying the vile racism that they represent. The images wont go away. the words, the actions... all of these things have brought the teabaggers down.

they now have an unfavorable rating above 50 percent. People are tired of them. their entire existence is based on the lie that taxes are too high, when everyone knows that the tax rate is lower than it has been in 60 years. with that knowledge you listen to them and what they are saying, and it adds up to a bunch of ugliness and not a whole lot of smarts.

Until we reach the point that there is no difference in the rules for all races we are only going to see racism continue to grow and people to talk at each other instead of to each other. It is time for All anything of one race to stop. Fifty years ago or so we forced integration of the "all white" establishment and now we need to do the same with the "all black" institutions. Until we really integrate across the spectrum this is going to continue. The radical fringe groups need to be acknowledged as what they are. The New Black Panthers and the KKK are two of a kind. They both move us backward. When they are both treated with equal disdain maybe we can start to get somewhere.

Which all-black institutions would those be?

The United Negro College Fund (UNCF)

The Congressional Black Caucus

National Urban League (NUL)
This black organization empowers and encourages African Americans to be active in the political and professional arena.

Rainbow Push Coalition
This black organization, led by Jesse Jackson, fights for equal rights for minorities

Black Organizations and Non-Profits
Listings of national African American organizations serving the Black community.

100 Black Men of America

African American Speaker Bureau (AASB)

Black Culinarians Alliance (BCA)

Blacks In Government (BIG)

Black Wall Street Merchants Association

Black Women In Sisterhood For Action (BISA)

Miss Black USA

National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE)

National Registry of Black Baby Names

National Black Child Development Institute (NBCDI)

National Association of Blacks In Criminal Justice (NABCJ)

National Association of Black Accountants (NABA)

Let's turn the list around a little you tell me which of the following would be okay.

National Association for the Advancement of Non-colored people
The White college Fund
Miss White America
The White congressional caucus
100 White men

The point all of it needs to stop. The all black organizations foster separation of the races just like the all white ones that came before. Until this changes nothing changes. WE aren't supposed to be equalizing racism. We are supposed to be moving past race as a defining factor in our lives. Until all of anything groups are eliminated racism will continue. There is just too much money and power in it for both sides (black and white) to ever fully let it go. Whites and blacks are equally to blame for this mess and it will take both working together to ever move past it.

Which all-black institutions would those be?

I know several white people that got free tuition to african american colleges because they WANT more diversity. the truth is that white people do not want to go to a university that is run entirely by african americans.

Interesting that.... because africans are roundly criticized for having issues with attending places with an all white administration.

realistically, Jonesy? we both know this is all black institutions rhetoric is just hot air. It is designed to deflect. like the little kid in the play ground saying..."but but but... timmy does the same thing when you arent looking!!!"

it is always warped truth and it is always defensive. Republicans now are engaged in this weird process of saying... I know what we are doing is bad, but since We think you are doing it too, it's ok. They never check the facts and notice the differeces in the situations.

the very idea that White rich men are saying they need representation and are having their rights violated is ridiculous. Whit emen are in charge, and they are using the teabaggers and the republican to hold power by trying to turn Obama into a scary black man.

it is a real tool that they are using, and there is no subterfuge that they can create to fool people now.

the NAACP has nailed them and they have acted just as the NAAcp's definition would lead you to believe they would.

To the contrary. Most of what I saw on your list are set up to give a minority group a fighting chance.

You don't need such a group when you're already the majority and hold almost all the power.

they don't get what Minority protection means. the only real reason those orgs are in existence is because at one point they were shut out by the white establishment.

As long as they exist, racism will thrive. These groups have power and money just like the all white groups did prior to the civil rights movement. They don't the correct racial divide they foster it and profit it from it. Until the rules are the same for everyone we will make no significant progress in this area.

The faces and the parties have changed the problem remains the same. It is time for it to stop. What we are doing now is not working. The time has come to try something different.

what you are not showing is that after that, when President Kennedy ordered the dixiecrats to stop segregation, they ditched the democratic party and ran into the republican party. that is why no rebublican can win the presidency without the south. It is where the anti segregationists went.

just as recently as what? six years ago? strom thurmond was told by Trent Lott, a leading republican at the time, that america would be a better place if he had had his way in the civil rights era.... lets look at the exact words....
Lott resigned the Senate majority leadership after controversy erupted over comments he made at Thurmond's 100th birthday party on December 5, 2002. Thurmond ran as a "Dixiecrat" in the 1948 U.S. presidential election and actively endorsed continued racial segregation. Lott said of Thurmond at the birthday party: "I want to say this about my state: When Strom Thurmond ran for president, we voted for him. We're proud of it. And if the rest of the country had followed our lead, we wouldn't have had all these problems over all these years, either." Amid widespread criticism over his remarks, Lott resigned the Republican leadership on December 20, 2002.
