I always just picture the guy placing the ad. Thinking he's going to get nothing but uber-hot, tall, muscular, white, well-hung, rich guys with no issues whatsoever. All desperate to date him.

And then I picture him ten years later. Writing yet another ad. Begging pretty much ANYBODY to go out with him just once. And telling everybody who will listen about how stuck-up all gay guys are.

Or I picture him six months after he placed the first ad. With a guy who raided his bank account, moved in and lives on his couch, and is physically and emotionally abusive towards him. But thinking "At least he's not faggy."

When describing why you wouldn't date an effeminate male is one not to expect there to be some negative aspects?

The reason I do not date effeminate males because they exhibit qualities predominately identified among women. I'm not attracted to those qualities.

Even this PC answer would get shit. I think sensitivity levels on both sides need to be altered. Nobody wants to feel excluded but hell in the dating world why settle in interest of infinite amounts of anonymous feelings on the internet? You cannot please everyone and in the online dating world people can become jaded as hell.

I remember when I was in the online dating world I got shit for saying I preferred "Asian and Latino men" I got soo much shit from "white" and "black" men about how I didn't love myself and etc.:##:

In closing there are nice ways to say "Fat and Fems" But nobody is obligated to do so. If it offends you don't contact that person.

Only if they're willing to settle for somebody who doesn't have accounting skills. If they're insistent on it, they'll say "strong accounting skills/background a must."

The point of these posts isn't to make effeminate or overweight or anything-else-the-guy-don't-want guys to feel good about themselves. It's to get the guy laid. And if he can do it by being unfeeling, or even an outright asshole, that's his right. That said, I think the term "no fats/no fems" would turn off a lot of in-shape, masculine guys, as well. But perhaps, in addition to finding somebody to have sex with, he wants somebody to make fun of fat and femmy guys with.

Just as a side note, my favorite bit in personal ads has always been the age range. In ads where the guy lists an age range, 95% of them have the guy himself just barely squeaking in the upper bound of it. And the other 5% he's too old to answer his own ad. :)

Phrases like that are demeaning and offensive. You can achieve the same end by saying, "Thin and masculine" or swimmer's build or something. Enough people insult us. We don't need to insult each other.
 
Way back in my day, it was "no fats, no fems, no phonies". It was also followed by "your photo gets mine" which tells you how long ago it all was. :)

I'd love to respond to a "no uglies" ad. "I'm not ugly. I'm differently hot."

Some posts in this thread are uh...pretty out there. Advertisements are all in the wording, some people just fail to write advertisements. I wouldn't be sensitive over it, OP.

Oh...and to the tools saying fems/fats/uglies should do whatever (like that absurd 'lose 100 pounds' comment), you'll find that once you're out of high school (you can't fool me :p), the fems/fats/uglies blossom into hotties. I looked at my yearbook. Looked at the Facebook profile pics. Screamed with glee in knowing the 'hot folk' were...less than chopped liver.
 
Whatever you think, you shouldn't say it. Not because it's insensitive, but because it's a huge cliche, and makes you sound STUPID.

listen guys - to those I seem to have insulted. It is not about beauty or body weight... Yes the fit guy makes for a fun sex partner, but this is not all there is to live. I just wanted to get the discussion going...

Be you overweight/less-hollywood-pretty/boring as shit, etc - it does not matter. Somewhere, someone out there is waiting for you...

If we all lived in a Bel Ami/Falcon porn world no one would have a single hair on their arses, we'd all have smooth backs and we'd all look as plastic as fuck-me Ken (tm).
 
Meh. It's a personal ad. Who cares what people say in them. If you're offended by that, you're too easily offended.
