The study that was conducted by I_just_blew_my_load86 is very much like preliminary studies done by psychologists all the time. The use of these is to gain an insight into a question posed in the mind of a willing academic. After finding such results that could potentially support a question, a hypothesis can be formed. As underfunded academics are, it is unwise (to say the least) to launch a formal experiment and spend precious research grant money to only gain a useless study that produces useless results and unpublishable in peer-reviewed journals. The study was flawed, but I'm assuming I_just_blew_my_load86 has not had formal training in common research methods used by natural and social sciences. Given the absence of that aforementioned training, he did conduct an interesting study. A formal study would then allow for strict manipulations of variables and subjects to achieve both internal and external validity of academic calibre.

People must realize the social constructions placed into everyday life. Most people do not realize these constructs even exist because they know nothing else as an alternative. Attraction is a highly complex and multifaceted human behavior. Copious amounts of research is conducted through many different schools of thought governing modern psychology. If you ask these researching psychologists if they are optimistic of finding the key to attraction, you would be hard-pressed to find one that would answer yes. These studies are conducted only to gain more insight into the human mind and not to find the penultimate answer to attraction.

So let us stop attacking our fellow man and put that argumentative energy into changing our hetero-normative euro-centric western-hegemonic society. We must realize as homosexuals, bisexuals and asexuals, unity is our best chance in breaking through our second-class status as human beings. Agree?

It's maddening, but I realize my scope of reference is quite limited, being in the South, which is still backwards, and in which a larger percentage than the general US population still harbor negative and racist views of minorities.

So I was right, this was based on your own personal ideals. Oh well, as long as you realize your "evidence" is far from reliable or conclusive.

So anyway, I put an ad up on craigslist, a white guy messages me with his stats.

I respeond with mine, describing myself as "mixed", and asking him for a face pic.

He replies back, "mixed with what", as if he's only willing to send his face pic if I'm of the "right" mixture -- you know, one that doesn't include any black or Asian ancestry.

I told him to fuck off.

The scary thing is that all this racialism and race awareness is from people my age -- people in their early 20's are supposedly trans-racial, but my experiences, as well as the experiences of many men of color, in gay venues, clearly demonstrate otherwise.
