Obama speech aims to reassure a nervous nation

Obviously the pres is as dismissive of the safety of Americans as you are.

How many people have been killed in the last year by islamic extremists?

How many by white non-muslim guys who have no problem buying guns?

I don't recall you had the same level of concern about the shooter at Colorado as you do for this incident.

You are another one of those who are so blinded by your hate for the black guy in the white house that you somehow have this bizarre notion that in a country that hasn't been able to protect itself from over 30,000 gun deaths a year by non-islamist extremists...that the president is supposed to be some Captain America who can protect you all from one particular brand of domestic terror...while you all ignore the real terrorism going on in the country.

I suspect that if I looked it up, there were more innocent people shot by the police in the last year in the US than murdered by ISIL.

The big difference is that president Hussein is deliberately bringing in thousand of refugees, knowing that some are likely to be terrorists. It is an unnecessary risk. Your tit for tat, is not a solution to all problems.

Name a single refugee who ever became a terrorist.

Benvolio is just being nonsensical again. He's got nothing so he will try to imply that one is not like the other. This is one of the fundamental problems with his logic and one of the things that renders him and the other far right wing-nuts without any credibility at all.

It isn't tit for tat...it is explaining the truth in terms even Benvolio should be able to understand.

Even if you cut out all immigration entirely....anyone travelling into the US as a visitor or with a visa could be plotting to kill you and 1, 5, 15 or 15,000 people. And they could come in with false papers or be squeaky clean. The risk is as high as with settling refugees. Is Benvolio now saying that no one should visit the US either?

What about all the muslims already in the US? Should they be rounded up and interred so that terrorist acts would be the domain only of non-muslims. That would possibly reduce some risk as well. Would that help Benvolio and his white supremacist fellow travellers to sleep at night?

I would also say that it is hilarious that Benvolio still seems to think that he and the KKK need to defeat Obama in some way, as though he might be running for another term or something.

Haters gonna hate! I've got Ben on "ignore".

Of course it would never occur to terrorists to enter the country by pretending to be only a refugee. Nor would it occur to the pres, if he cares.

^ So your point is that since it has NEVER happened, it must be a huge risk. For which the government must take MASSIVE action, immediately.

No. The president wants massive action. What we need is INACTION i.e. no more refugees.

Refugees have rights under international law. One of which is the right to non-refoulement.

What you are advocating is that the USA disrespect the human rights of refugees. You are not advocating inaction, but a change in US policy toward refugees. Because you Republicans are afraid of something that has never happened.

I have never quite understood the Republican fear of humanitarianism. You people cower when you are asked to do the things that your Jesus demanded of you. It is hypocritical and pusillanimous.

Most atheists I know are better Christians than you Christians.

I have never quite understood the Republican fear of humanitarianism.

For that matter, I have never quite understood the Republican fear of Muslims, women, immigrants, gays, blacks, and poor people, either.

Seems that there are a LOT of people and a LOT of things that make Republicans quiver in their boots.

You are fighting windmills in you own imagination. We don't fear those people. We support them all on welfare. There is good reason to fear muslims not. Beyond that, they are entitle to welfare from day one, at the expense of the Christians they hate. (No, I am not a Christian). Worse, they will vote democrat to impose high taxes and socialism on the people who have to support them.

You are fighting windmills in you own imagination.

So, you are saying Republicans are not afraid of Muslims? Why, then, are so many of you demanding restrictions against Muslims coming into America (including you)?

You are saying Republicans are not afraid of women? Why, then, is there a running list of Republican-sponsored misogynistic legislation?

You are saying Republicans are not afraid of immigrants? Why, then, are you so adamant that immigration is the root of all evil?

You are saying Republicans are not afraid of gays? Why, then, was it so necessary to prevent gay marriage, and so necessary now to "protect religious freedom" by enacting laws to allow discrimination against gays?

You are saying Republicans are not afraid of blacks? Why, then, all the rhetoric against "Black Lives Matter," the movement to nullify the Voting Rights Act, and the movement to stop affirmative action?

You are saying Republicans are not afraid of the poor? Why, then, do all the Republican budget proposals rob from the poor to give to the rich?

The windmills, dear Ben, are not mine.

You assign all kinds of beliefs about what Muslim are, what they believe and how they vote.
You very obviously work out of your fear centres.

You're afraid of foreigners, you're afraid of them changing your country, you're afraid of terrorists, you're afraid of other people getting something you don't, you're afraid of other people bettering themselves above you. And you're very afraid of crime, in particular of the theoretical kind.

You assign all of these things to democrats and immigrants, without realising how insane you're sounding.

If anyone is tilting at windmills fella it is you and the rest of your Stormfront cadre.

To begin with, a large number of the refugees will be christian Syrians and moderate muslims fleeing to escape ISIL.

In the next instance, refugees are not usually the ones lining up for long term welfare...that would seem to be the domain of the poor white trash in Republican states if the numbers are correct. As we have pointed out ad nauseum to to you as you relentlessly troll JUB with your hate...immigrants and in this case, refugees actually represent economic stimulus for the middle and upper class who supply all the shit, including housing, food and hard goods that families need to set up a household. As we have also cited, ad nauseum, the numbers show that immigrants represent job creation at all private sector areas.

I can't imagine, except you being raised in a virulently racist, reactionary household, what damaged you so badly in your childhood and youth that you just persist in spewing the same lies and poison over and over again here on JUB as though you think any of us are stupid enough to buy into it. All I can think of is that you are like a couple of other Stormfront moles who have hung out here in the past...always hoping that your posts will be seen by some sympathetic souls who you can then draw into your dark web of conspiracy politics.

Problem is...this site doesn't get that kind of traffic anymore. So you are wasting your time.

Because you got nuthin' and lost the war about 4 years ago.

Nope. Obama is not about to let Christian refugees in. Since the Paris bombing we have bought in 237 "refugees" only one of which was Christian. And yes "refugees" get welfare early and stay longhttp://cis.org/High-Cost-of-Resettling-Middle-Eastern-Refugees

What's with only Christian people needing refuge all of a sudden?

Like it or not, there are few baptists and protestants needing to seek refuge around the world.
Although if they were black, you'd probably still be opposed to them.

About 10% of Syrians are Christian, but only one since the bombingshttp://cnsnews.com/news/article/patrick-goodenough/04-christian-syrian-refugees-admitted-paris-attacks-include-236

You have to be kidding us. The Centre for Immigration Studies? Nothing but a far right wing nut group that has been found to use misleading information and lies to support their anti-immigrant cause......

Like this example.
