Obama's Justice Department Wiretaps AP Phone Lines .. Both Business and Personal

An interesting thing that undercuts the Administration's defense is that apparently the CIA had requested the AP hold on releasing the story until the national security concerns regarding how we operated in that Yemen action had passed. They did hold the story, until they discovered the White House was going to disclose this news the next day to trumpet its own national security strengths( a number of leaks had actually been suspected as coming from Administration sources bolstering its foreign policy credentials, if it's to be remembered correctly anyway). They were pissed at the AP for daring to scoop what they were about to trumpet(releasing sensitive information selectively, of course). And as for the laughable claims of DJ chief Eric Holder that he had recused himself , but just had no written proof he did..... basically at best what we have is an intensely political, partisan Administration that is awash in the mud of crony capitalism and political cynicism. Much like Bill Clinton's, but at least he had some real skills as a political leader understanding governing requires hard work and the willingness to deal with others as grown ups on occasion.

^ No springer. The entire burden of proof is on you as the author of this thread. Stop dodging. Give us your sources.

Don't make us have to subpoena your records.

The information in your OP says nothing about wiretapping. You are still claiming that DOJ listened in on the conversations of 100 journalists.

Just give us the source of these new 'facts'.

Enough with your harassment man. The DOJ broke the 1st Amendment rights of a major news outlet in the United States of America and you want to make the story about whether the 'hamburger had ketchup on it or mustard'.

The DOJ did wrong.

You like this better .... DOJ listened and recorded the private and personal phone conversations of 100 Associated Press employees.

No, the DOJ did NOT wiretap the AP's phones. They only obtained records of phone conversations which included the number connected, the time of day, and how long the conversation lasted. And records for 20 phone lines were subpoenaed, not 100.

You're confusing this incident with George W. Bush's famous "Warrantless Wiretapping," which DID wiretap phones, emails, text messages, and internet traffic without warrants. As you will recall, GWB issued an executive order allowing his administration to violate the wiretapping laws.

Enough with your harassment man. The DOJ broke the 1st Amendment rights of a major news outlet in the United States of America

The First Amendment prevents Congress from passing any law impeding the free exercise of religion.

The AP's right to free exercise of religion has not been impeded here.

Enough with your harassment man. The DOJ broke the 1st Amendment rights of a major news outlet in the United States of America and you want to make the story about whether the 'hamburger had ketchup on it or mustard'.

The DOJ did wrong.

Nonsense.

Your claim of harassment is ludicrous.

You have insisted that the DOJ listened and recorded the personal and business conversations of 100 AP reporters.

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

You made a claim that you are now required to back up. Enough wriggling. Either admit that the title is a misrepresentation of the facts or provide us with the source so that we can know what you know.

Just provide the sources as requested.

As far as whether the DoJ has abridged the freedom of the press by obtaining the records of the incoming and outgoing phone numbers of conversations, that is a matter that AP can pursue in the courts...isn't it?

And just for Jack Springer in regards to his new avatar, here's the Bush family abusing the USMC.

And here is Reagan abusing the Secret Service:

That guy is more likely a White House butler. A US Marine is not allowed to have an umbrella while in uniform and is specifically forbidden to use one .. even at the request of the the President of the United States.

Why didn't Obama call on one of his aids to hold the umbrellas?

According to Marine Corps regulations, not even the President of the United States can request a Marine to carry an umbrella without the express permission of the Commandant of the Marine Corps.

The Marine Corp Manual, which is the bible for all soldiers serving, specifically states that a soldier's uniform dress code does not allow the carrying of an umbrella and 'no officer or official shall issue instructions which conflict with, alter, or amend any provision without the approval of the Commandant of the Marine Corps.'

Indeed, male Marines are informed never to carry an umbrella from the earliest phases of training.

Regulation MCO P1020.34F of the Marine Corps Uniform Regulations chapter 3, rules out any use or carrying of an umbrella while a Marine is in uniform.

Ok, how do you like your hamburgers .. with ketchup or mustard?

Records of phone conversations in this day and age of Internet based calling it can mean about anything. Your employer more than likely records your phone conversations and who calls you and who you call.

Well, we'll never know what happened because Holder will not answer questions. He knows nothing other than what he reads in the newspaper -- just like his boss.

US President Barack Obama vows to 'stand fast' against protests as bodies of Americans return from Libya
US President Barack Obama vowed on Friday to "stand fast" against violent anti-American protests sweeping the Muslim world as he honoured the return of the remains of the US Ambassador Christopher Stevens and the three other Americans killed in an attack in Libya this week.

You've made quite a public spectacle of yourself today Springer.

That guy is more likely a White House butler.

No, he is identified as a member of the secret service.

A US Marine is not allowed to have an umbrella while in uniform and is specifically forbidden to use one .. even at the request of the the President of the United States.

According to Marine Corps regulations, not even the President of the United States can request a Marine to carry an umbrella without the express permission of the Commandant of the Marine Corps.

The President of the United States outranks the Commandant of the Marines Corps.

And Thomas McInerney's comments in that link are beyond disgusting. The president failed to "show respect" to a marine? What about the Marines Corps showing respect for the Commander-in-Chief? "A marine is a warrior." Apparently, that means he is not permitted to do anything but kill people.

Why do the Marines assign aides to the president, it they are not permitted to act as aides?

Why didn't Obama call on one of his aids to hold the umbrellas?

What "aide" would that be? Look up the definition of "aide," Jack.

aide
aide

n 1: an officer who acts as military assistant to a more senior
officer
[syn: adjutant, aide, aide-de-camp]

Now about that stuffed animal you use .......

Per your request - fixed.

Mere weeks after Barack Obama was inaugurated in 2009 these right wingers were on his case about everything. And what did they offer as an alternative? McCain and Palin. Two complete morons.

Just six weeks Bill O'Reilly was slamming President Obama for the bad economy and why it wasn't fixed yet. A few months later even Springer was ripping the President apart for the most stupid of things.... even bowing. Unreal.

It's nothing more than racism, sour grapes and an attempt to distract attention away from George W Bush's disastrous Presidency and they say nothing at all about the mess Bush left. Propagandists Fox News repeatedly kept pounding into the soft heads of these fearful and uneducated idiots that this President is bad.

He's Kenyan, socialist, communist, arab, Muslim, birth certificate.... now it's Benghazi, AP and IRS. They're unrelentless.

Get over it. He's our President and he's doing a good job. STFU with your racism and sour grapes.

You like this better .... DOJ listened and recorded the private and personal phone conversations of 100 Associated Press employees.

You're done your best to derail this thread.

I would have thought that you and others would be outraged about this -- guess not, your agenda is too important to be compromised by a crooked federal government.

Start a thread about Canadians and what they think about the price of whale blubber.

Why not start with a little inquisitive honesty and look into the matter yourself. This is a serious matter and you treat like a political debate.

Find out what you are defending.

"Inquisitive honesty".

Yeah.

How about reading the articles you use? You have yet to post a single source supporting any claim of wiretapping or recording activity, others have searched the news only to find nothing, and after a half hour of google searching I haven't found any, either.

I bought your story until I read your sources. That I and others have not only read the sources you've cited but researched a variety of others, and corrected you, shows that your agenda is to keep repeating a lie until we give up on you and you can then claim victory. But lies can never be a basis for victory, only for self-deception.

Once again: you are lying about what the sources you've cited say. You are making a claim unjustified in any major media, from BBC to CBS to whatever. If you want to refute the conviction of lying to us all, please provide sources to back what you're saying!

Enough with your harassment man. The DOJ broke the 1st Amendment rights of a major news outlet in the United States of America and you want to make the story about whether the 'hamburger had ketchup on it or mustard'.

The DOJ did wrong.

Were this a courtroom and you an attorney, you'd be going to jail for thirty days for extreme contempt of court, for insisting you have a case but refusing to provide any evidence whatsoever for your position, despite repeated calls to do so by both your opposition and by the jury.

I'd LOVE to have evidence the administration has done what you claim! Unfortunately, rather than show the president is a criminal, once again you've managed to show little more than that you'll bring any case against him you can think up, whether there's anything to back it up or not.

Well, we'll never know what happened because Holder will not answer questions. He knows nothing other than what he reads in the newspaper -- just like his boss.

Hardly. He knows all kinds of things we'll never even suspect. He just doesn't care about anything that doesn't make the newspapers.

At the risk of having this deleted, I have to conclude at this point that Springer has demonstrated himself less competent than our president, whom I consider a bumbling crowd-pleaser with no balls.

Jack, please bring us something of substance!

Nothing like using the US Flag covering the caskets of four dead Americans to tell a lie and get yourself elected President.

Or not allowing the Press and Media to cover the US Flag draped caskets arriving in Dover, Deleware every week during the Iraq War under Bush to get him re elected back in 2004.

If you're going to use 4pt letters, and bold them in red, please allow me to be more subtle:

hyprocrisy

The practice of professing beliefs, feelings, or virtues that one does not hold or possess; falseness

Where was the "right wing" outrage then?

Don't you get it???

We're so busy fighting amongst each other in a discussion forum that's obscure from many, that we're never going to make a difference, or to change someone else's opinion, without truly speaking truth to justice:

OUR GOVERNMENT IS CORRUPT, both parties have been bought and paid for by Corporations, their Media Conglomerates are fighting for their "advertising dollars."

WAKE THE FUCK UP!!!

As Americans we shouldn't be taking the "Republicans" lead on Benghazi, or the IRS, or the AP wiretapping scandal, we should be calling President Obama on his lack of leadership, and the partisan bullshit going on in Washington, which our National Media Outlets are far to complicit to report upon.

Did you hear that Beyonce "might have a bun in the oven."

I heard it on my local News, between reporting about all of the Tornado devastation in Granbury, Texas over the past couple of days.

What if she decides to "abort?"

Is it possible that there was something wrong with the "yeast?"

Oh..that's right, we don't teach Home Economics in our schools anymore.

And just like babies, most American don't even know where their bread comes from.

I'm PR0UD TO BE AN AMERICAN that has the public school education of my time to THINK past the logical conclusion of the BULLSHIT that's spread in this forum everyday.

WAKE THE FUCK UP!

..|

And for those of you who claim to not understand what I'm saying, please let me know.
