Hopefully when ya'all gather in Philly the Liberty Bell will still be there and not stolen for scrap to support someones drug habit.

She may be singing the same tune, but she is not the leader. She's just another politician trying to get to the show in DC. Can she be trusted? Who knows?

The energy behind this movement could splinter off eventually between people who want the system to work and people who want a new system.

This show isn't over by far.

Yes, rape is wrong -- but if you're told your partner is of age, it isn't rape when she's willing.

And don't give me the shit about minors not being able to be willing -- I've seen too many deliberately set out to have sex with older people, notably at fraternity parties where the guys had to hire off-duty cops who couldn't just check IDs but had to have real-time connection to government databases in order to verify if the driver's licenses and state ID and student body cards were for real. I've also run into a dozen or so on line trying to get me into sex with a minor.

Adults should be very, very leery of ever having sex with anyone who looks under thirty, without in-depth verification of age, not just to keep from hurting kids, but for their own sake -- the law here is not rational, but vindictive.

Then go out and unwittingly screw a 14 year old child. Make this argument you've proffered before a jury. When you get out of jail and onto the Megan's Law sex offender list, let us know how well that strategy worked out for you.

Do the actions of one person negate the entire effort being put out here?

Would the actions of one politician discredit the entire party he/she is affiliated?

Wouldn't it be the REactions to offensive/illegal behavior that is most important?

I'm not going to speak on the alleged statutory rape of the girl from Texas. Whether it happened or not, we can not say. But if the people involved are cooperating with authorities then what more can be said about that?

Of course we wish things like that didn't happen, but life does indeed go on.

If anything these types of events illustrate the need for some form governance, so the whole anarchy angle just straightened itself out, no?

Well, it's now obvious that back in Salem, Massachussetts you'd be heartily supporting the kids who'd figured out they could lie and ruin the lives of adults.

Why do you defend irrationality? and stupidity? The "Megan's Law" system is barbaric, a tool that destroys thousands of innocent lives a year. Kids know they can make an accusation, and the adult's life is over, because the law treats any accusation by a minor as Gospel truth. A kid can decide to have sex with an adult, lying and deceiving to do so, and then finish the destruction of that adult's life by claiming it wasn't consensual.

Under that whole "Megan's Law" rubbish, if a kid broke into my house while I was naked, I just became a sex offender. If a kid hits me over the head and has sex with me while I'm in a coma, I just became a sex offender. If a kid gets fake ID and passes a cop's inspection and gets me involved in sex, I just became a sex offender. If a kid drugs my drink and then uses my body for sex while I'm passed out, I just became a sex offender. If I'm at a party and taking a leak behind a bush and a kid sees me and freaks, I just became a sex offender. If a kid I never met gets pictures of herself printed out and pays someone to sneak them into my house and then "turns me in", I just became a sex offender. If I spend any time at all with a minor, and the mom takes a dislike to me, and she accuses me of sex with her kid, the fact that the kid denies it will be taken as proof I did it, so I just became a sex offender.

That's what the "rule of law" does for us: it exalts lies and destroys lives.

It's wrong.

There are pix of 2 kids. One an Iraq veteran. The one laying down. I belive he is the one that got a fractured skull from a Police projectile. Not sure if it was a beanbag or rubber bullet. The one standing was a rubber bullet. Now don't tell me about police brutality. This is obvious.

Oh, there is a video of quite a few occupiers bending over the one with the fractured skull and while they were trying to help him , the police fired another projectile right into the crowd. Some police, huh.

The veteran is now suffering from brain swelling and will likely need operations.

The police who did this do not realize that the folks who are demonstrating are doing it for both their benefit and yours. You are public servants, and you might be canned in the blink of an eye. Wake up!

I cannot believe how the news has trickled down to our news room. Our NBC newsroom just reported the police in Oakland had to disperse the protesters because they were creating a dangerous situation. The only dangerous situation I saw were the police bombing and shooting them with rubber bullets.
