Oscars 2014: Stars and stand-ins mingle during rehearsals

Academy Awards: A-list actors, film students and stand-ins join crew members for a last-minute run-through before Hollywood's biggest night.

When Angelina Jolie arrived at Oscar rehearsals Thursday morning, she had some wisdom to share with a group of film students clustered backstage at the Dolby Theatre. The actress and director spoke to the students not of the demands of a Hollywood career, however, but of the challenges of its footwear.
"I didn't fall in the hole," said Jolie, gesturing to an open spot on the stage and towering over the young adults in a pair of spike heels. "I used to wear flip-flops, but you do this a few times and you learn to wear the shoes you're going to present in."
Jolie was on hand to practice for her role in the Academy Awards ceremony Sunday night, joining 45 other presenters who would stream through the Hollywood and Highland Center over a three-day period before the show, including Amy Adams, Bradley Cooper, Benedict Cumberbatch, Robert De Niro, Harrison Ford, Jamie Foxx, Anne Hathaway, Jennifer Lawrence, Bill Murray, Brad Pitt, Sidney Poitier, Channing Tatum and Emma Watson.

nope... I'm actually enjoying a night alone because I didn't want to go to my boyfriend's friend's Oscars party.

my lack of interest in them couldn't be higher. if I do anything, I'll scan over the best/worst dressed lists tomorrow over coffee.

show is like 12 hours long lol--will watch at least 2 solid hours of it---don't want to be too gay.

I'll watch Ellen's monologue and the supporting actress category afterwards. Then I'll record the show and I watch something else until about an hour of The Oscars has gone by.

Ill go back and watch the Oscars until I have caught up with it in real time.

If there are any boring parts, I can fast forward through itIll repeat until Ive seen the end of the show.

N'yongo should have saved the cape gown for the Oscars.

I think its funny how people gets excited for the Oscars and bitch about it the next day. I dont bitch, I fast forward ;-)

fyi: Joan Rivers was the first to ask "who are you wearing?" and she was criticized for it. Some said "nobody cares what they are wearing"
