I think before Canada makes nuclear threats against the US they need a reality check.

Not sure who alleged Canada is threatening the US. Their request would be a defensive move, a deterrent to Russia, or the US, from violating territorial integritty.

I think Trump sees a world in which the US has been taken advantage of but they hated us anyways.

Trump sees a world through shit-colored glasses. Everyone and everything is weak and corrupt. He is the perennial victim of endless schemes, and all he produces as proof is his allegations, smears, name-calling, and slurs. In response to actual evidence, to formal investigations and prosecutions, he has been proven a categorical liar, an extortioner, and a fraud. In turn, his main response is "Nuh-UH! No, YOU!" And sadly, his followers are happy with that infantile act, only obsessed with winning at any cost.

He, and his minions, endlessly accused Biden of crimes with no evidence. All the crap about Hunter still didn't point any finger at the president. It's completely possible to have a family member cashing in on his name without there being a crime committed by the elected officer. As an alternative, Trump openly appointed his family members to high office, allowing them to run key goverment affairs and foreign affairs as naked simony. How is that virtue?

Fundamentalists Christians forsake 90% of their values to endorse him, because allegedly fewer babies will die via abortion and they can vanquish the trans people.

Fiscally conservative Republicans abandoned their socially neutral philosophy and drove up deficits, along with Democrats, to record levels, in a deal with the Devil, else they be homeless, a third party.

Similarly, hawks in Congress accepted Trump's relentless attacks on the intelligence forces, insults to the valiant soldiers, his toadying to Putin, his unconstitutional extortion of Ukraine both in his first term and now, as they smell money in the House of Trump for them and their cronies.

Trump, not in spite of his blustering, but because of it, has a classic inferiority complex. He is the noveau riche. He finds the real elite to be obnoxious because he has the taste of a carnie barker, and finds civility a weakness.

They will continue to regard us as an ally insomuch as we behave as one, in hopes of seeing the country right itself, and pass laws prohibiting the type of "soft revolution" for corruption that is now underway. What tripe. The planet may see us as the biggest sucker, but it means it in the leech sense. We consume more per person that any other nation.

We topple sovereign states to enable a banana company to control its supply chain.

We backed the Shah and deposed his father to put him on the peacock throne, to control an oil supply.

Under Reagan, we sold arms to both the Iraqis and the Iranians during the Iran-Iraq War.

We have touted ourselves as freedom-loving while creating a Homeland Security shadow force that can see and hear anything, any time, with it all being done in the name of anti-terrorism. We tortured prisoners while double-talking about the definition of torture.

Trump alleges that we've been victimized by our allies, suggesting we only give concessions but get nothing in return. What hogwash. We gain control and influence in myriad ways, furthering American wealth power through financial manipulations, through statecraft, and through soft power.

What Trump does understand is the masses in the US experience victimization from megacorporations, and feels frustrated by the paradigm, so he manipulates that angst and channels it through pure propaganda.

The deficit is out of control? Well, it must be because of those damned federal employees, not the taxation schema that allows Donald Trump and Warren Buffet to pay less tax than in the history of federal income taxes. At a time when the wealtth gap is wider than ever, the solution it to give back more riches to the rich and fuck those chumps making $8 per hour.

When Russia expands, we become less secure by definition. When we forsake defense treaties, we endanger our own security and we DO need allies.

One of the gross problems with Trumpism is the suggestion we need no allies. There's not a nation on the planet whom he regards as a trusted ally, outside Israel.

Democrats, and Rinos seem to think we must do it until the end of time.

The name-calling of dissenting Republicans as RINOs is an extremist cult mentality. "You agree with me, or you are no true believer." Trump is fightitng against political caucuses being coalitions of citizens and trying to establish a monolithic loyalty, exactly as totalitarian regimes have done. He is already uttering statements in office that journalists shouldn't ask him questions he doesn't like, that his cabinet should not speak up if they have counsel that disagrees with Musk.

That's not government by the people. It's the fiat of Trump.

Those supporting Europe and NATO are not idealogues, but statesmen. If we are to change our alliance, it is to be by being an ally, not by treating allies worse than our enemies. When Trump lavishes justifications and praise on Putin and assassinates the character of Zelenskyy, he is openly currying favor with a ruler who literally kills his rivals with the power of the state.

Throwing out lies about Zelenskyy doing the same is lame. There actually were Russian operatives in Ukraine and had to be quashed, which was not persecution, but necessary in the heat of an active war with a nation that speaks the same language as most Ukrainians. Infiltrators are much more hidden than in the US when trying to get Chinese or ISIS operatives in.

Is it the Northeasterners who view the Midwest and South as yokels? Is it the Marines and those who fight our wars as opposed to the weekend warriors who just do it for the extra income? Is it the families who can send their kids to the HBCUs and avoid the death spirals of the ghetto? Is it the professional millionaire athletes driving show cars and whoring with models?

In my experience, most times that term has been invoked, it has been from someone feeling rejected, which is an attitude, not usually an act.

Trump never said he'd attack all our allies. He said he'd end the wars in Ukraine and Gaza, not that he'd sacrifice Ukraine and exile the Palestinians with Netanyahum's blessing. And again, only a slim majority chose him. That's not a mandate. That's a divided government. Proof is in his executive orders, as he cannot count on his own party to hold.

I haven't been a Democrat for some years, but it was due to the false dichotomy. I've been an independent. There's so far no organized 3rd party that is pro-Labor, pro-center, and pro-cooperation.

Likely, with the Democrats in confusion, the party that centrist Republicans probed in 2024 will finally form, and many centrist Democrats and Independents, will join.

Policy positions may be all over the place, but it is nonetheless true that the same nation that voted out Old & Feeble, and Vague & Unproven, will vote out Mean & Petty. A great deal of Trump's misdeeds would not sink him were he ever to rise above being himself, but he just has abysmal self-control and spews bile when all he has to do is become a statesman.

It is always fascinating to read the warped narratives the right wing imposes on things. Again, I suspect it comes from a lack of broader general knowledge and being stuck in someone's conspiracy riddled youtube fantasy world.

Falling into the Trumpian trap of making out that the rest of the world is out to get you and externalizing grievances because otherwise people in the US might wake the fuck up, take a good look at how the oligarchs are making fools of everyone and maybe do something about it.
