I did wonder if he was an actor. Who is he? He reminds me of John Carradine.

I'm sure I have seen him in some of those English films of the 1940s. My first thought was it might have been Alastair Sim but I know it isn't.

I think the 1940s were England's best years for film-making.

That lengthy script conveys a great deal of important information and was obviously scripted by a large committee of stake-holders. Tea played a part in the morale of a nation being bombarded by the german blitzkrieg.

Seattle was being bombed in the 40s. And so was London— but much worse!

Talking about the sand dance, here's the posh version of it from Glyndebourne. The foppish Tolomeo (rockin' the leopardskin fez) invites Cesare (woman dressed as Lord Kitchener--it's one of those wacky productions) to his tent for drinks but Caesar smells a rat. Look out for the bald hottie in the white jim-jams on the far left.

I saw another production of Giulio Cesare which also brought in lots of visual gimmicks, buttocks and other delights to provide visual stimulation to accompany Handel's extended ruminative arias.

It's a bit off-putting that this site emphasises the hotties to entice a larger audience into the auditorium.

Someone has managed to make Southend look even more desolate than it really is. It's as if a bout of the plague is coming and almost everyone has abandoned the place. In Adventure Island people are milling around but the rides are all empty. It's positively eerie. And he seems to be obsessed with lifts.
