Pres.Bush Commutes Libby Prison Sentence

Exactly Andreus. Thank you!

If the ppl know, they will do the right thing in the next election.

That is where one can get our voice.

And, Im not trying to be a meany by saying not to state your opinion: you should!

But, your call to arms should be to the American folks to put ppl in power, in ur government, that you want there.

been screaming that one for quite a while

if youve read this forum you know that

ive worked on a few campaigns

which reminds me ....

on a totally separate track... lance is travelling with the senator and wont be around for a while guys

he wanted everyone to know that his absense was expected and that nothing is wrong

Okay, I have to call a timeout here.

The Prez approval rating is in the toliet.

The Congress's (is that the right spelling?) is worse -- at record lows in the history of the US.

Do we not have enough confidence in the American ppl that they will not set this right in the next elections?

If you think not, then I will lose a lot of respect for each of you.

He is making decisions without polictics involved. I wish every politicain had that kind of surety.

LOL! By that logic, Hitler was BRILLIANT for ignoring everyone's advice but his own...petty politics....

Oh it will be corrected. But it will not be what we wanted. Whether or not we get our specific candidate.

What Libby did wrong was to take a bullet for the VP and the Pres by failing to cooperate with the Special Prosecutor and lying to the Grand Jury in order to cover up the false claims used to take us to war. What Bush did wrong was to obstruct justice by giving Libby a pass in order to insure his silence.

It was about Valire Wilson and yellow cake in Niger, and blowing the cover of a non-covert "covert CIA operator/operative" . And her pissed off husband.

End of the argument.

Geaorge's perrogative. Your duty to accpet and move the fuck on.

SOmeone posted Clinton's pardons. I have been intently interested in politics since i was arounf nine. (that was 1980) and I seriously dont remember Bill's travesty's of justice. So if it was no big deal for Billy to pardon his criminals then why is it such a bg deal for George? It wouldnt be a double standard or nuthing would it?

COme on now. Be adult and admit it.

Some of Clinton's pardons were a big deal and resulted in a lot of scrutiny and complaints. There's no double standard in now doing the same thing to Georgie Boy.

And why move on? Staying focused on Libby helps the Dems.

jack and letme are going to be upset with you for that

they will not agree

for them, this is all the right way

all that has come to pass in these years is good in their eyes

do i think that the american people will set it right?

yah

its a joke to think anything less

this action directly affects that issue

Senator Hillary Clinton (D-NY) issued the following statement on Bush's decision:

"Today's decision is yet another example that this Administration simply considers itself above the law. This case arose from the Administration's politicization of national security intelligence and its efforts to punish those who spoke out against its policies. Four years into the Iraq war, Americans are still living with the consequences of this White House's efforts to quell dissent. This commutation sends the clear signal that in this Administration, cronyism and ideology trump competence and justice."

Hey I have abslutely zero expectation that things will just move on. I simply work for persepective. Eventually everyone will be equally critical of politicians as I am.

Enjoyed jack's and letme's points of view

But that is not why I am here talking

We ALL have our points of view welcome to USA

I like to make this forum open, and differing opinions are welcome. That is what made America what it is.

The American people brought you George Bush II twice.

40% of them still think that Saddam was responsible for 911.

Many of them are more interested in Paris Hilton than in making sure they don't go bankrupt from healthcare costs.

Ann Coulter has had, what is it, four NY Times best sellers.

Bill O'Reilly is the most watched cable news show host.

And so on and so on.

The notion that the American people will right things is a fantasy.

Discuss. Write on one side of the page only.

lol

is that right?

well what exactly are you enjoying about their points

enlighten me

and i am aware of where i am thank you very much, as i have mine and it wont be suppressed by theirs

this forum is not yours to make open or closed i believe last time i checked

but your opinion is one of many that will be considered over time

^ Wow! That was a bit harsh. Just meant that each of us should be able to express our opinion.

I see, now, that if that opinion doesn't meet your mold, then it is not worthwhile.

Sounds a bit superficial to me.

maybe he meant to say " I [would] like to keep this an open forum" ?
JMHO

not superficial

just dont tell me that people are entitled to their opinions when this thread is littered with them

i have a right to respond to their opinions as well ;)

that is my point

and this is OFF TOPIC

i admire your intellect

focus it on the topic and we will be all good

that would be untrue - in fact under oath your comment is perjury.

1. No Jack I did not/ woulda committed perjury. That has to be to lie with intend .
2. I am mis-informed,
3. and thanks for the corrections.
4. The USDOJ doesn't have a listing for him YET.(least I could find)
5. The Only true worthy citing source, for picky demander's of cites.

1. Don't be so sure of your definition of perjury in federal and the various state courts. In that you had reason to know the truthfulness of the fact that you stated, and the fact that you stated was totally wrong, in some courts it would be perjury, in others, obstruction of justice.

2. Well of course, my friend. mis-informed (and failing to be informed) = republlican.

3. you are welcome, glad I could do your work for you. If you had done your work and not been prone to assumptions or laziness, or whatever kept you from basic research before you made a declarative statement, plus gandered back at what Bush 1 had done, you may gave avoided this whole mis-statement of facts that you in fact made.

4. Ain't that a surprise. That you could not find a listing for what Bush has done, on a government website for a cabinet department that has been shown to be corrupted for partisan reasons, that we are shocked, shocked...

5. No, it is not.

surprised it took him so long

like u didn't know he was gonna do it?

so shocking?

punishment has to fit the crime right?

Libby got the partisan shaft - and now Georgie boy is using his "get out of jail free" card

can't really fault him for fixing a wrongdoing

haha

youre late chance

we covered all that already

i bet you didnt read the whole thing, knowing your dislike of wordy posts....

but your support of Dubya was predictable

ps... what happened in the cape? any juicy details to share?
