President Elect's telephone call to President of Taiwan

Trump is clueless, reckless and dangerous.

He probably wants to build a hotel in Taiwan.

I don't think so.
If he is really clueless, the people surrounding him are to blame.
But no he is not that dumb.

But no he is not that dumb.

No, he's not dumb. But he knows nothing about politics and world affairs. Being clueless doesn't mean he's dumb, but his cluelessness can get him into very deep trouble in other parts of the world. He's already made a lot of serious mistakes and he isn't even president yet.

Well he is not clueless.
He know what he is doing and he do it on purpose.

^ He's already proved (even during the campaign) that he doesn't know much about politics, and now he's proving it even more.

I'm not surprised as I indicated above.

That's all he sees this gig as....just a way for him to flog his hotels and real estate projects.

Well, as I said throughout the campaign, Trump wouldn't do anything as president that doesn't put money in his pocket. He's proving me right. The man is a businessman. He always has been. It's his life. He will never stop thinking as one.

Not true.
Has was not in politics BUT he has thought about politics for a very long time.
It is impossible to "not know much about politics" and won. It does NOT make sense.

It makes perfect sense. You can't break as many rules as he has if you know all about politics. He made many political promises that he later discovered he cannot follow through with. They simply were not within is abilities as president. He just thought he could.

If he's been thinking of politics for a very long time, he would have been in it a very long time ago, and he wouldn't have started at the top.

Telstra.

You persist in giving this man too much credit.

His biographers and people who know him are all clear and united on one thing.

He isn't well read, and he actually doesn't think very deeply about anything. His vocabulary is at the level of a 9 year old. Seriously.

He gets his news from fake news sites, Twitter and probably Youtube.

You don't have to know a lot about politics to win in the US. You only have to play to the lowest common denominator as he learned when doing his television show. There are lots and lots of people in the US who are about as poorly educated as he is.

And remember, he won by lying, yelling and bullying.

The way that all dictators do.

But the man has a vision, and a dream.
Two words:
Whitehouse. Casino.

Whitehouse Casino!

Not giving him any credit.
Just want him to be accountable for everything he do.
Saying "he don't know about politics" is giving him to many excuses

Of course he needs to be accountable, but he isn't and refuses to be. And we're not giving him excuses. We're giving him reasons. The man has no idea how to be president of the United States. He hasn't done a single thing which deserves credit.

Lets go back to Taiwan issue.
He know what he is doing. Saying he don't know give him excuses.

How do you know that, and why would we make excuses for him? Once again, we're not making excuses. We're giving reasons for why he is doing what he does. He simply does not know better.

Let's see. Trump has repeatedly said he has issues with China given its currently manipulation and poor trade deals with the country. Wouldn't surprise me in the least if he knew what he was doing and took the call on purpose to ruffle their feathers. That is his style.

We'll see where it leads, but other than China having a tiff over it, not seeing it going much of anywhere. Media outlets make it a big deal and it becomes monkey see, monkey do on here.

^ And of course, we aren't surprised by your kneejerk support for your guy.

But the background to this call is as murky as some of us thought.

We have TrumpCo. trying to do hotel deals, him being manipulated by the very horrible John Bolton because he doesn't have a clue about the world, his juvenile refusal of nay backgrounding or guidance from the State Department, and, of course, his usual lying when he found out that he was being mocked and derided for the call.

As many of us suspected all along, he will be easily led by people with their own narrow and often destructive agenda, which in the past has led to disastrous consequences for the US and the world (see Halliburton and BushCo. and the Bush Doctrine).

Instead of trying to learn anything, he will blunder along, making himself and the US look capricious and unstable....dangerous in the world of global diplomacy.

And, as we see,,,every time he finds out that he has embarrassed himself, he'll tweet up a storm and try to double down.

No, Biden would become VP for the few weeks remaining of the term.
