president Obama and transgender bathroom controversy

^ Pretty much this....we've seen it for years with every argument against accepting homos.

The reality is...their real fear is losing one wedge issue after another. With homos in the military and able to marry, they are running out of dog-whistle issues to get their lap dog angry conservative voters to keep supporting them at the polls.

Eventually all they've got is women, Mexicans and Muslims this year and they're finding out that fighting against women is starting to not work for them and that the Latin vote is increasingly important as well. So they are going for issues that get support across all conservative religious demographic groups...like transgender bathroom rights.

And again...remember, the bill wasn't about bathrooms. That was the trojan horse.

For many people who live in the most depressed, backwater armpit states of our Great Nation, they don't have adequate education, don't make a livable wage (if you have a job), don't have enough infrastructure to notice it deteriorating, probably not medicaid or adequate public services and sure as hell no future. They have come to accept being poor and ignorant and under served as a norm. Why? Because their elected officials do little or nothing for them. For generations. Forever. The states' leadership does take action and pass legislation so that a man in a dress is not going to molest their woman-folk in a Target rest room. This particular crime has NEVER occurred in history. Molestation and voyeurism have always been illegal. The GOP has done not one FUCKING POSITIVE THING for your fat, dumb ass.....but NOW they are fighting hard keeping you and yours safe by generating transphobic hysteria to justify unconstitutional laws that do nothing but attack the rights of the LGBT community, generally. THIS ONE LAME NON-ISSUE gives the haters something they have not had heretofore: A reason WHY. Why not gay marriage? Answer: uh, I dunno. Why can't trans persons use public washrooms? Answer: PUBLIC SAFETY, MORALITY, Trauma to our young girls. Was that the same rationale that mandated separate COLORED washrooms and facilities in the South? JIM CROW is alive and well in Hillbilly, USA. The niggers slipped through somehow, but by gum we're not gonna let the trannies and faggots have their way. This issue can be segued into broader anti LGBT laws. The Republicans get the base all riled up over other peoples' private lives, like butt fucking and gender re-anything...and the leadership sidesteps their complete incompetence in all the other spheres of the voters lives. Save me from all this queer shit, and I will gladly vote your big racist, prejudiced ass back into office again and again because I can't connect the dots. Public bathrooms. Women's facilities .... have stalls. Dividers. Usually with individual doors. Single bathrooms have locks on the doors. Women's showers have stalls, curtains, etc. The whole social norm around female facilities addresses and respects privacy and instills and supports modesty. Trans women appreciate that as well, I am sure. Probably more than other women. Aside from washing their hands, no one sees or is exposed to anything that flies in the face of morality, safety or is dangerous in any way. Men, of course, shit and shower in herds and no one gives a fuck. The females who trans to males so they can finally see some dick, well they're covered by these laws, too. Hate is borne of fear and fear is borne of ignorance. Not intellectual incapacity, but a lack of experience that leaves us with only negative stereotypes to form opinions and shape our feelings. The individuals so many people hate and are afraid of? They have lives, make their own choices and just fuckin want to live as our Constitution provides....how does that really impact or affect others' lives in any real way? It doesn't. This ridiculous legislation is founded in hatred, has only one real intent -- to take away human rights from some of the most vulnerable of our citizens. It must not stand.

Again the real issue is our rapid slide toward a totalitarian government which controls everything, down to bathrooms.

No.

That is your delusional fantasy.

And that you can't see that it is the conservatives who are passing legislation to literally dictate what people can and cannot do is beyond baffling.

Face it. You are 100% hypocrite. You are fine with old whit men passing laws that dictate where transsexuals can piss...you just can't stand it when people turn around and say that the state has no right to make such laws.

No. Since time immemorial, boys have used the boys room, and girls the girls room. No laws were needed. Then Czar Hussein decreed that boys who like to dress like girls are entitled to use the girls facilities, and the same for girls who like to dress as boys. Then some states have intervened to counter the imperial dictate.

He's absolutely fine, too, with states passing laws mandating STATE-RUN *RAPE* via probes, for all women who want abortions. The definition of rape is penetration of sex-parts, or parts which are sometimes used for sex (such as the mouth), without consent or under coercion.

He wants to be sure that laws are passed which disenfranchise many people from voting. His kind got a law passed in Texas that college I. D.'s (which have a photo and, in the case of state-run Universities and colleges, are issued BY THE STATE OF TEXAS) are NO GOOD, but firearms permits are.

Laws that force certain people to piss in places where they may be in danger of being beaten or killed are more intrusive than Obama's executive order (or he would say edict or fiat...and Hussein's), which says that these laws are UNNECESSARY AND AN OVERREACH, trying to solve a problem that has never, ever existed.

I'd say, much more accurately, Republicans want to CREATE PROBLEMS, and to harm people, in cases where problems didn't exist in the recent past.

I also suspect that, in what cases of voter fraud actually exist, an analysis would show Republicans to be causing most of the problems. Consider, for example, disenfranchising Florida voters because their names match Texas or Illinois felons, is BLATANT electoral fraud.

No. Since time immemorial, boys have used the boys room, and girls the girls room. No laws were needed.
And it worked fine, nobody was harmed, and LAWS ARE STILL NOT NEEDED. You want new laws to correct a problem that has never, ever existed.

People who are, IN VIRTUALLY ALL RESPECTS, dudes or chicks (and for all the world appear as such), and nearly all aspects of their lives are lived within that gender role, have been using bathrooms assigned to that gender. They happen to have the other gender on their birth certificates. It happens. Get over it.

Somebody who is born with a penis but is, in all other respects of gender role and behavior a woman, is NOT GOING TO WHIP HER PENIS OUT IN THE WOMEN'S BATHROOM. She's going to go into the stall. After all, ALL bathroom functions not related to grooming or washing hands is done BEHIND LOCKED STALLS in women's rooms.

There is no need, and no reason, to pass laws which can ONLY cause harm to these people, and which address a problem which is absolutely and totally nonexistent.

I have a friend who is exactly this, and who has now started to fear for her life. Even in states that don't have such laws - her native Florida is a prime example - the new awareness of these laws will now have self-righteous Neanderthals LOOKING for people using the "wrong" bathroom, and endangering transsexuals even in states that don't have these laws. This would even include parts of my state of Illinois. People elsewhere think of Illinois as being all extremely "blue" on the political map, but there are parts of my state (the latitudes south of St. Louis) which might as well be Mississippi.

I haven't heard people screaming that transsexuals need to be killed - not yet - but I expect that to be coming to a state near you soon.

In "time immemorial" people pissed into the same river.

Make up more history.

This is ridiculous.

It wasn't that long ago that everyone used a communal privy.

Your claims are absurd nonsense.

They probably still do where you are from, and in Kenya, but it is not what Americans want.

Ah.....so racist.

Well news alert.

The new standard for public washrooms is moving to separate enclosed stalls with communal sinks.

It works wonderfully in the very civilized countries.

I always laugh when you claim to speak for what Americans want.

Maybe you can speak for the knuckle dragging gobs over on Stormfront...but as far as the rest of America goes...there is proof on this issue that you don't speak for them.

I mean is it true that other men in a co ed bathroom will simply ignore the rape going on?

And frankly, a pervert is NOT going to feel like setting up a camera in a co-ed bathroom either.

Showing up your ignorance again.
Gender segregated bathrooms are a relatively modern phenomena.
No 'time immemorial' about it.

Women had to fight for the right to have bathrooms. Workers had to fight for the right to have bathrooms too.
These are accepted norms now. Guess who they were fighting?

@ Benvolio

I’m having some difficulty understanding your presentation in this thread. (It looks like there’s spaghetti on the wall.)

What am I missing? What is the focus of your main complaint?

Benvolio said:
Nothing in the Constitution remotely justifies a dictatorial order from the president or his bureaucrats, overruling the democratically elected legislatures.

You have made absolutely no attempt to explain why the right to privacy of the much larger majority is less important.

The president merely enforces the laws.

If it is discrimination to keep out boys who feel like girls, it is clearly discrimination to keep out other boys or men, including older men.

So, if the state cannot discriminate …

hot issue

You want to say that "equal protection" gives trans people the right to shower where they want, but not other boys and men.

No laws were needed.

The black man in the white house.

The Constitution does not give the Federal government, much less the President, to regulate toilets, dressing rooms, and showers. As always, I am concerned by our march toward a one party totalitarian state in which everything is controlled by the government. I am concerned with diminishing democracy, as every decision is made at the top. The attempt to distort the toilet discrimination is nonsense, unless the boys rooms and girls rooms are substantially different. I am concerned that the rights and wishes of the majority are always subordinated the wishes of the minorities, no matter how small. This controversy is because the transgender people are not comfortable unless dressing etc with the opposite sex, who intern are not comfortable with the trans people. But to the dictator, only the wishes of the tiny, tiny, minority should be considered.
