Project Runway

Okay, so who does Char know or is related to -- Oprah, Michelle Obama, Beyonce?! There is NO WAY she should be showing at fashion week with her novice, poorly crafted work. This show has lost ALL credibility imo. Seriously.
 
So the black transgender woman has to be related to someone powerful and black in order to make it on the show? It can't be that someone worse went before her, and that she does have SOME talent in order to remain?

So who was Gretchen from season 10 related to when she WON? Take your silly overt racism and shove it.

Gretchen is 100 times more talented than Char with her ill fitting, saggy black dress and total sophomore pink pocket dress with ill fitting top. I mean Nina could only comment on the color and fabric pattern (thank you, Mood).

Char at fashion week is AFFIRMATIVE ACTION! It's a joke and an insult to the talented desigers who were not given preferential treatment.
 
This week's episode is the Finale Part I. The designers have to create a 10 look collection to show at NY Fashion Week. All 4 designers, Kini, Amanda, Sean, and Char were given a 2 day trip to Rome Italy to help inspire their collection. They are to use the inspiration from the Architecture, History, and Culture from Rome Italy.
 
It was surprising to see that only Char and Amanda purchased fabric from the High End Fabric store that Tim Gunn took them to in Rome.
Kini: His collection is comprised of denim with a luxury look.
Char: Her collection is inspired with the colors of the fabric she purchased in Rome. She wants it to be youthful, fresh, and fun.
Amanda: Her collection is inspired by 70's modern look.
Sean: His collection is inspired on the idea of the Betrayal of Caesar.
 
Judges wanted to see a preview of 3 looks from all 4 designers.
Amanda: The judges want her to bring her collection to the next level and make it more chic, less bohemian. Keep the texture and ethnic look and use more jewelry that she designed. I agree with the judges, the jewelry gives her clothes a more sophisticated look. It brings it up a notch.
Sean: The judges like the fringe, but it should not be on the entire collection. If it is on the whole collection it is just one note and does not show a range as a designer. I agree with the judges on this critique.
Char: The judges said her looks are not cohesive and it also needs more of her own personal style. I totally agree with the judges.
Kini: Heidi and Nina both said his collection looked old lady looking. It needs to be restyled and made more modern with denim and leather. I agree with the judges on this critique as well.
 
I think Sean is in trouble. Most of his collection, if not all, is fringe. Char is in big trouble. Her collection needs lots of work and she can't sew fast. Kini is in big trouble too. He was crushed by the critiques of the judges and he also needs to rework his entire collection, just like Char. They also don't have much time.

I think the winner is going to be Amanda. She had the best comments from the judges. Her collection does not need as much work as the rest of the designers.
 
Kini was the week's Fan Favorite. For a change it wasn't Alexander. LOL That's probably because he was eliminated.

What does everyone else think about last night's show? Next week the winner of Season 13 will be announced. I am looking forward to that.
I am also looking forward to the reunion of Season 13 Project Runway on Oct. 30. It should be filled with lots of drama with Korina and Char.
 
Kini < what he showed was so damn ugly. i think he kinda got lazy and in his head with this.. like he thought he had nailed it

Sean < i liked his looks it was very clean but agree with judges on loosing up with fringe even though it was so good it can become repeative and boring

Amanda < hmm dont know about this it can go both ways..her three looks was not that intresting to me

Char < i didten mind her looks but like Amanda it can go both ways

mostly looking forward to the reunion ******.. think Sean is gonna win this one...
 
Tim is continually giving Char unfair advice and assistance. It's ridiculous. If she needs that much help, she shouldn't be there.

Sean should win. Fringe or no fringe. I'd be fine with Amanda though. I think she's great and one of the most humble and delightful personalities this show has seen. Not one primadonna is this group, finally!

The looks Kini showed to the judges we terrible. That skirt was one of the ugliest things I've seen on this show, right next to the shirt it was paired with. There was one dress in his collection he didn't show to the judges that looked great, aside from that, really poor taste and desperate to show something different when really his design aesthetic is pretty run of the mill, despite very well made.
Even though that red dress from last week was GORGEOUS.
 
On tonight's Finale Par 2 of Project Runway
Char came in 4th place. I was not surprised there at all.
Kini came in 3rd place. I was not surprised about that either.
Amanda came in 2nd place. I was surprised. I thought she would win.
Sean is the Winner of Season 13 Project Runway! I was surprised about him winning. Even though he is a good designer I thought Amanda's looks were better.
Arpeggi and Spunks you were right. You guys got the winner correctly.

Anyone else with any comments or opinions?
 
Nope - after seeing the runway, 4th and 3rd place were as they should have been(so much for having Oprah in her back pocket), as Sean and Amanda were the only two that told a story and made it stick(and let's be honest, you can't compare what they did on the runway with Char and Kini, they were a class above). I'm actually not surprised that Sean won, but had it been Amanda, it would have been great too.

That chant Kinis' aunt did in the lounge... that was touching.
 
I'm kind of surprised they didn't choose Kini. Most seasons I can think of, the judges make the safest choice possible. Kini did improve his collection. He did have some really gorgeous looks, aside from that abhorrent coffee filter dress. But it still felt pretty formulaic. He's talented, but I don't think he has a unique point of view. He's just studied what "good" fashion is supposed to look like and has excellent construction skills. Very chic, but seldom interesting.
I think Amanda could have done better. Some pieces were somewhat boring, but the last three or so were pretty great. I feel like she could have done more with the winnings and made the most of it, creating her brand, compared to Sean.

As I've said, Sean was most deserving and the most innovative. I don't think that orange silk dress he made the last day and put at the end was much to marvel at, but it doesn't matter. He didn't follow a formula and he has a fresh and unique point of view, even though the whole Ceasar story was kind of gimmicky, it worked as inspiration.

Looks like All Stars begins next week. I'm predicting another Michelle Lesniak win.
 
Tomorrow night is the Reunion. Looks interesting between Char and Korina.
Following the reunion is Project Runway All-Stars. After All-Stars is Project Runway Threads. The first episode was last week. Did anyone watch Project Runway Threads last week? I was surprised the boy won. Each week for 8 weeks they have 3 different contestants who are tweens and teens. It is incredible how young the designers are and the talent they have at such a young age.

Anyone watching? Any comments or opinions?
 
looking forward to all stars.. cant wait to see what fabio is up too..but why is kate on ? seriously ? this is the 3rd time she is on project runway...had your chance girl...
 
I'll check out all stars - skipping Threads. I saw the commercial, and that was all I needed to see. I can barely deal with pretentious ADULTS, I have even less time for pretentious kids unless one of them is the daughter or son of Zulima(do not know how to spell her name) from season 2 of PR.

Also, All Stars... meh. Happy to see Chris Marsh again, but, I don't think i'll be watching all that much of this.
