Rock star! Supernova

Lucas is supposedly the 'chosen one'? It's 'Supernova', not 'SuperGnome'!:) I thought everyone was decent last night. Storm FINALLY got to show her chops on a song she wrote, and that was an awesome performance! I would be really surprised if she didn't make the Final Four. Toby's still a better fit for the 'band', thoguh, than anyone there at this point. He's REALLY easy on the eyes, and seems like a nice enough guy as well as a fun guy. Dilana impressed me from the start, but no amount of editing MADE her say and do the really aggravating things that she wound up doing...and, what's worse, is that her subsequent performances have not been amazing enough to compensate for all the DilaDrama. I hate to say it, but it's really tie for her to go. :(

I was sad to see her go! Her original was great last night. I have a lot of respect for her and look forward to seeing more of her as a solo act.

I really disliked Storm for the first few weeks, but tonight I was sad to see her go. Something happened a few weeks back and she just came alive. She may be off the show, but we haven't seen the last of her. Her cover of "Wish You Were Here" was very well done. It took guts for her to do a Pink Floyd song and she pulled it off admirably.

I loved Dilana's cover of "I Want You To Want Me". Even on crutches, she's 10 times the performer that the Gnome is or could ever hope to be. He just gets more annoying as time goes on. I keep wishing that his head would just explode. It's also pretty sad watching the members of Supernova crawl up his talentless ass every week.I'm still liking Magni and Ryan, but after seeing Ryan do his own tune last night (and again tonight), I think he'd be better off in a band more along the lines of INXS, Split Enz ,etc.

And finally, how cool were Dilana's crutches? She must have spent a small fortune on feathers and glitter. Also, she has a whole album available on iTunes. Some of the others have stuff available too, most notably Jill and Patrice. One of Jill's albums is called "He's My Bitch".

I thought Storm left on a high note. She showed class and her performances of 'Ladylike', 'Suffragette City', and 'Wish You Were Here' were extremely well done. I think I'll be following her career. Toby seems like a good choice for the group. The others, not so much. Dilana's desperate plea for people to like her once again made her song choice just a little too creepy for me, which is surprising, considering that around 'Zombie', I thought she could do no wrong. Oh well.

Well as much as I love Dilana I think her lack of songwriting skills are going to be her downfall. She's failed twice now to come up with the goods when asked to write a song for the band. I still can't believe she ended up in the bottom three.

If Dilana doesn't win then I'd rather Toby wins. I've never liked Lukas and sometimes I can't understand what he's singing. I'm not keen on Magni either for some reason and couldn't believe that he was the only one who didn't fall into the bottom three this week.

Wow Dilana's performance of Roxanne was awesome. I think she's back and rockin'. Her vocals are not too raspy/rough and she sang it well.

Toby's original was very catchy, and I think he fits the band quite well even though I like Dilana more. Lukas is better to have a solo career, I could not understand him most of the time. I think Magni's performance was the weakest tonight...like what Tommy said his original was forgetable maybe because it wasn't as catchy as the others.

Dilana totally stole the show with her version of "Roxanne", but that's hardly a surprise considering that she hasn't turned in a bad performance yet. How cool was it that all the guys sang back up for her?Talk about Pips....She should take the prize, but she won't. It would become "Dilana and Supernova" and I just don't see Gilby Clarke(sorry, the man is a hack) or Tommy Lee being able to deal with that.

I was a little surprised to see Ryan brought back for an encore, popular vote notwithstanding. He said some pretty nasty things in an interview after he was voted off.Guess the powers that be at the show didn't see it...

Still liking Toby and Magni a lot. Of the guys, Magni is the best choice for the job but I'm still convinced that Lukas is going to win. Once again, Supernova heaped praise on the scary little gnome for a performance that was predictable, forced and mediocre at best.

Still, I will watch tomorrow night. It would be nice to be proven wrong and see anyone other than the gnome go home a winner.

I'll be okay with Magni, Toby or Dilana winning (preference in that order)...but not if the gnome wins. When it comes to reality tv and these contest type shows it seems like the ones I like the least always win though and I'm left shaking my head wondering why...therefore Lukas will probably win it....ugh. After that Big Brother season finale disappointment...I'm getting ready for another one.

There is nothing about Lukas that I find appealing...and I really don't get what the band and others like about him either...his style of music and his overall goth appearance just doesn't seem to fit with the band.

I'm hoping the band was trying to use some kind of reverse psychology by complimenting Lukas and putting down Magni's original song...to drum up ratings, drama, on-line voting numbers...something other than actually trying to promote a Lukas win. I've said it in another post...I think the band already knows who is going to win...so hopefully they just said good things about Lukas last night to soften the blow of his being the 1st elimination tonight. (I can dream ...right?)

Well, the worst happened, but it makes sense. A phony singer for a phony band.

How could those pussies not pick Dilana?

Lukas was the SAFE choice!

Dilana would overshadow them and Toby would be a threat because he Is WAY more attractive than them!

Lets pick a guy who can half ass sing our songs and but won't take away from us....lots of egos in that band but sadly...very little BALLS!:grrr:

HORRIBLE decision!!! I cannot believe this. They picked the one person that just looked so phony. Just because he received the most votes it doesn't mean that the most people voted for him. For all we know one person sat at their computer and voted thousands of times.

They might as well have left the eliminations every week up to the public. I almost felt like I was watching an episode of American Idol where the votes decided the outcome.

I was so ready to like this band and look forward to their cd but now I could care less.

After a disappointing Big Brother finale I get this. What a disappointing tv week.

It's probably best that the gnome won. The band will self destruct after one album and tour, if they make it that far.Not holding out a lot of hope, based on the Supernova tunes that we've heard.

Tommy will go back to Motley Crue, Jason will go back to VoiVod. Remember, this is just a side project for them. Gilbey will disappear back to where ever marginally talented guitar players go and Lukas will probably die of a drug overdose or something like that.

I'm guessing that we haven't seen the last of Dilana(duh!) Toby or Magni.I'd be willing to bet that there was some record exec or talent agent backstage just waiting to nab the "losers"

Yeah, I agree. I actually liked the songs that Supernova had put together so far, but I really can't see Lukas singing a song like 'Leave the lights on' (or whatever it's called). Meh, I'll d/l the album and give it a listen but Lukas' signature dryheaving sound is just excrutiating to listen to. It had to be Dilana or at least Toby, for me anyway.

Here's hoping Dilana's album is sweet!

HAHAHAHAHA!!!! Now they can't even use the name "Supernova".

This is soooo funny.

(!) (!) (!) :gogirl: :gogirl: :gogirl: (!) (!) (!)

I'll bet that Tommy Lee is totally chewing on his lawyer over this....

Hahaha. Ouch. Actually when I first heard the name 'Supernova' I really didn't think it was that original. And if this is in fact true that they can't use the name, then... tough break with that summer-long national tv built-in marketing campaign they had. Haha. That's what they get for choosing Pukas as their singer. (Dryheaveus just doesn't roll off the tongue very well).

Wow how sad, Lukas won... Congrats to him and farewell to Superwhatever. Dilana, Toby and Storm will be famous and will overshadow them.

I have to agree with you on both on these points.

I'm glad Dilana wasn't chosen though, she'll go way farther as a solo artist

I'm thinking Dilana was the real winner...she got a promise to make a record with Gilby (legally binding with thousands of witnesses) and sing with Dave on his tour...nice deal....but better still...she's not committed to the now doomed and formerly known as band 'Supernova'.

HORRIBLE decision!!! ...
...I was so ready to like this band and look forward to their cd but now I could care less.

Me too. I was really ready to start liking a new rock band...they had a lot of potential. But with Pukas (perfect name!) in there I won't like them no matter what they do now...I dislike him that much.

Yeh...I'm in agreement that their on the road to self-destruction...and with the law suit over naming rights...one more obstacle in their path. Cool! If I was the the owner of the Supernova name, I'd sell it to them for a few million (or more) and capatalize on it before the Tommy band takes their nose dive.

I hope we haven't seen the last of Dilana, Toby and Magni. I haven't heard anything from any of last years rockers...I especially liked Marty and Jordis...so I hope D, T & M do launch a career from this. I'd be very interested in any of their albums...and would really like to see D or T perform live.

... but Lukas' signature dryheaving sound is just excrutiating to listen to...

 Pukas...love it!

Just desserts....sour grapes...whatever...mocking him and the band right now is the only satisfaction that I get over his selection (petty, I know...I don't really care). I think it's too funny that noone in this thread recently has said anything even remotely kind about him. I may even take a small bit of pleasure in seeing them fail  . They won't be getting any of my money...this show is done...so what's on tv next!

I actually enoyed the trackes that Supernova performed, but like everyone else, I abso-fucking-lutely hated their decision. But I have to ask, do we all hate Lukas because he sucks, or because he looks like Ozzy's lawn ornament? I mean, when I close my eyes and listen, I don't think he's half bad.

Still, I was hoping that either Toby or Dilana could take the cake. I'm just glad that Rockstar totally gave her every consolation prize humanly possible to give. It almost felt like they wanted to keep them both.

I mean, when I close my eyes and listen, I don't think he's half bad.
When I close my eyes AND myears, I don't think he's bad at all!:D . The NoNames chose the one singer I couldn't stand. That, the lack of Storm, and Ryan's Revenge..uh, Return....made this week just painful to sit through! Glad it's over. Diladrama's 'Roanne' was a highlight, though. Glad she got over herself. (I guess changing the name of the song to "Dilana" would have been a bit much...;) )
