Shoe thrown at Bush!! hilarious!

As much as I dislike him, I really don't think it's funny when a shoe is thrown at the President.
 
As funny as it was, I was surprised at how slow the security services were to stop him.
 
The terrorists in Iraq are so poor that they can't even afford bombs to go in their shoes anymore.

I agree with prism. I have never cared for Bush and just want him to go away but the guy who threw the shoe should have to eat his shoes after he removes them from his ass.

the secret service had better re-examine that tape and try and decide where were their men. no one surrounded Bush at all and they finally came pourint into the room from the door behind the president after the assaliant had been brought to the floor by the other journalists in the room.

this lapse in security does not bode well for Obama who i hopes sees the tape and starts asking questions about his own security.

not a good day for the secret service.:grrr:

The Secret Service were slow to respond---they should have been in that first row and in front of the President before that second shoe ever left the guy's hand. Can't say I find it funny.

I completely agree! One should respect whomever holds the office, regardless of personal opinions.

I thought it was funny. I don't disagree with the sentiment expressed; no insult could possibly be grave enough to even approach what Bush deserves for what he did to Iraq, or even this country, where his crimes are comparatively modest and don't involve widespread mass death.

That said, I do think he handled it extremely well. Cool, level-headed, made it clear he didn't hold it against the Iraqi people, or even the journalists in the room. Also, he managed to avoid acknowledging that the bulk of the Iraqi people would throw shoes at him--or worse--if they could get close enough. Overall, a win for him, more's the pity.
