Still, Ryan wasn't authorized to be there. One doesn't ask lower staff members... they should have asked those who are in charge of the organization.

In addition, this all goes back to the primary point I am making. The organization is NON-PARTISAN. If Ryan wanted to do his stupid little photo-op cleaning dishes (which he probably has never done in his life), then find an organization that is fine with it.

It demonstrates just how sloppy and inattentive Ryan is. He should have verified that the visit/stunt had been cleared by the proper people.

Ok so now the apparently clean dishes are dirty. A campaign aide sought and received permission to gain access by a volunteer unaware of the apolitical motivations of the group.

I think it is clear when a guy says he will cut spending to these type of organizations and then makes it a point to pander to peoples sympathies then it is misleading.

Yes. Regardless of the fine points of the law, it was nothing but a political stunt. If he wanted people to think he really cares, Ryan should have shown up when they were first taking food out of the freezer, and stuck to it till the last pot was washed and the floor mopped.

No that is like working and as Ryan has demonstrated via his participation in this current congress -- he despises work which is why he is a staunch republican politician. You should probably go back and read your original cite. They've rescinded the claim that he "did nothing" as they actually saved dirty dishes and him to wash. Still a photo opportunity, but we seem to have gone off half cocked, no?

Seems the organization can't make up it's mind: first the story was that no permission was given, then it was that someone there but without authority to do so gave permission, and now the claim is they knew he was coming and saved dishes for him?

I don't know why a photo op like this would move any voters. Are you really more likely to vote for a candidate if he helps out in soup kitchens? And would those that are now complaining about Paul Ryan allegedly scrubbing clean pots ever vote for him if he had not done this?

Not surprising. Lots of disapointing behavior from someone as of late on this site, and frankly, it's becoming more second rate by the day.
