STAR WAR THREADS MERGED HERE (*May contain spoilers!*)

Re: About Snoke in Star Wars.... no spoilers PLEASE!

Then why didn't you post this in the star wars thread months ago? Seems odd to bring it up now. I have stayed away from any news on it and watched a couple of trailers and didn't know who he was at all.

Did you just click on this thread to look for an argument?

Spoiler alert! There's a downed star destroyer in the desert.

Re: About Snoke in Star Wars.... no spoilers PLEASE!

I came into this thread because you're inconsiderate.

Re: About Snoke in Star Wars.... no spoilers PLEASE!

How can we have a conversation about a character in a film without talking about the film or potential spoilers.

Anyway we don't have many ways to guess at what Snoke may be since they decided only the films were cannon. All we now know about Plagueis is the crap from the prequels.

Re: About Snoke in Star Wars.... no spoilers PLEASE!

I was a college student in 1977 at Arizona State University. I was still recovering from Christmas 1976 when the first Star Wars advertising spots began airing on all the popular radio stations around Phoenix in January 1977.

The tagline was, "It's all new, and it's all for Fun".

And that's the spirit that me and my friends took away from the first Star Wars movie, it was all for Fun!

Re: About Snoke in Star Wars.... no spoilers PLEASE!

The theory does hold up if the novel about him is still cannon - as i cover of the novel draws him essentially the same.

I imagine though that it is EU - thus not cannon.

I'm going tomorrow---will get back to you.

If you've seen The Force Awakens, one question:

IS Mark Hammill the Most Interesting Man in the World?

Re: If you've seen The Force Awakens, one question:

Nah the most interesting man in the world would have thought of something to say. Rather than just standing there staring at Ray, while she gormlessly stares at him. It was such a bizarre scene!

Still I have read they cut all his lines because he is still an awful actor (as much as I love the original three - he is a terrible actor).

Re: If you've seen The Force Awakens, one question:

^ I, for one, was paying attention to him rather than his acting.

(Couldn't stand those Dos Equis commercials!)

Re: If you've seen The Force Awakens, one question:

I'd have to concur on his acting. I think he just had the look they wanted in that galaxy so far, far away now.

The Dos Equis commercials were very tongue-in-cheek, so I forgive them. Much less lame than the ones who hawk their suds with straight faces.

Re: About Snoke in Star Wars.... no spoilers PLEASE!

Having just seen the movie, I have a yawning disinterest in all the spinning and speculation about backstories and the like.

For my taste, it was worth the going, but nowhere nearly as good as the original, yet not as abysmal as Avatar.

If you're deciding to go or not, go. I'll reserve any specifics until more guys on JUB have gone.

Re: If you've seen The Force Awakens, one question:

His voice acting is rather remarkable and has been quite active since his old Star Wars days. As for his acting in the new trilogy, without really spoiling anything, all I can say we will have to wait for episode 8 to make a good educated judgement. But regardless of his acting ability, his presence in this trilogy is essential just as Harrison Ford's was.

Re: About Snoke in Star Wars.... no spoilers PLEASE!

What I really want to know is how BB-8 goes up the stairs. We only ever saw him go down the stairs, never up them. This actually isn't me joking, I'm guieninely curious.

That being said, I was quite happy with Episode VII, in spite of a couple of gripes. I was concerned with JJ Abrams at the helm as I HATE what he's done with Star Trek, but this was really good. I really want to see where he's going with this.

Re: If you've seen The Force Awakens, one question:

Anyone who rips on Mark's acting, aside from all the voice acting to which he's received much acclaim, just aren't informed enough. His two appearances this year in "The Flash" were a tour de force. His character, the Trickster, was an awful sociopath bent on mischief and chaos but Mark could turn from hilarious to menacing on a dime. Not defending his acting in the original trilogy, he was pretty bad at times... but to say he's a bad actor now isn't giving him fair credit. Trickster is as far removed from the earnest corniness of how Luke was portrayed as you can possibly get.

Re: If you've seen The Force Awakens, one question:

Yeah, I haven't followed his career at all so I don't know if he has improved. I have heard though they cut all his lines from the new Star Wars because how bad he delivered them, and decided instead to go with that weird scene of those Rey and him just staring.

Re: About Snoke in Star Wars.... no spoilers PLEASE!

BB-8 has tentacle like cords that he used to stabilize itself so I assume this is what it uses.
