STAR WAR THREADS MERGED HERE (*May contain spoilers!*)

Re: About Snoke in Star Wars.... no spoilers PLEASE!

Like I said in the title, please no spoilers.

I've heard people's theory that the Supreme Leader Snoke in the new Star Wars movie is actually Darth Plagueis.

Last night, as soon as I saw him on the screen, in my mind I was saying to myself "oh yeah, that's totally Darth Plagueis."

What do you think?

I haven't seen the movie YET. So THANKS for the SPOILER of the name of a new character!!!

Re: About Snoke in Star Wars.... no spoilers PLEASE!

What I really want to know is how BB-8 goes up the stairs. We only ever saw him go down the stairs, never up them. This actually isn't me joking, I'm guieninely curious.

That being said, I was quite happy with Episode VII, in spite of a couple of gripes. I was concerned with JJ Abrams at the helm as I HATE what he's done with Star Trek, but this was really good. I really want to see where he's going with this.

He ain't going anywhere with it. He was only ever making this film - the director for the next two will be Rian Johnson (Brick, Loopers).

Re: If you've seen The Force Awakens, one question:

I meant his original Star Wars acting. That said, the role didn't ask for or need a Brando.

Re: If you've seen The Force Awakens, one question:

I have heard though they cut all his lines from the new Star Wars because how bad he delivered them, and decided instead to go with that weird scene of those Rey and him just staring.
Heard from whom? JJ Abrams personally? Source? That is an absurd story.

The only thing I could find through Google is that his lines weren't cut. He simply didn't have any lines to speak. Not sure where Johnny heard that about his acting being so bad.

Yeah it doesn't make sense. Because anyone who has seen the movie would know that Hamill will have a much bigger part in the next movie. If his acting was so terrible, they would not even bother.

Re: If you've seen The Force Awakens, one question:

Han Solo was the star of this movie. Luke will be the star of the next one which starts shooting in January. They're not wasting any time. That's why Luke wasn't part of this movie.

Re: If you've seen The Force Awakens, one question:

The rumours started because both him and Maz had more lines in the trailers (In Luke's case a reworking of the ROTJ speech) . All of these lines failed to make it into the film.

But yeah, that does happen all the time. Like I said it was just a rumour.

He's her yoda....she will be the star. Episode 7 was so freakin awesome

Re: If you've seen The Force Awakens, one question:

There was just a lot more dialogue than I remember being in the first one. I wonder what the literal comparison of the two is.

Box Office: ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ Shreds Records With $238 Million Debut

“Star Wars: The Force Awakens” micronized box office records this weekend, racking up a monumental $238 million opening and justifying the Walt Disney Company’s $4 billion purchase of Lucasfilm.

That 2012 acquisition was intended to launch a cinematic universe set in a galaxy far, far away: a series of interconnected sequels, spinoffs and prequels that would serve as a filmic parallel to Disney’s Marvel Comics-inspired adventures.

“This is a record that will stand for a long time,” said Jeff Bock, an analyst with Exhibitor Relations. “This gives us an idea of how much a movie can make on a particular weekend.”

Re: Star Wars: Episode Vll

I thought it was great and a lot of fun, really had no problem with the fan service.

SPOILERS

I like that the light saber fight were more practical and not everyone flipping around like they were some kind of ninjas. I like that both Kylo Ren and Rey were both inexperience and it showed in their fight. The special effects were great and all the alien species were believable if they talked or interacted with any of the main characters of the movie, unlike 1-3.

I felt like there weren't any scenes in this that were completely pointless, like the original trilogy had no pointless scenes. Unlike again, episodes 1-3. It plays off of a lot of stuff in the original films, but of course it does because that is what it is going to do. A lot of stuff is reminiscent of a new hope, but I am glad it is because a new hope was a fantastic film.

I can't wait to see it again.
