The fact is people are uncomfortable admitting that racism still exists. And ethnic minorities still face it every day. Minorities have often had to band together just to survive hostile work, school, and competitive environments. And in many cases they still have to.

Exactly, well said! I initially wanted to stay out of this argument because this board has a particularly terrible and uninformed history with racism and race dynamics, but you've argued the point well, and I'm impressed that even the opposing views here are more qualifiers than outright misinformed. So kudos to altlover et al for that too. You've all kept an even keel on a topic that is usually very inflammatory here.

Joesman, thanks for posting that interview, I hadn't seen it before. He defends his bigotry like Amber on BB 8 (ie merely reinforcing it).

I can understand why people would want to make alliances based on race, gender, and sexuality. I don't totally understand the minority stick together thing totally because I thought different minorities have different experiences. However, I get the bond by oppression.

I think some of my objections were towards the idea that white people created alliances that excluded minorities when the show is majority white and that is bound to happen due to a lack of numbers for the minority candidates. However, I understand that everyone won't see things the way I do.

I'll agree to disagree on this. I'm glad we're all being civil as well, Pepper.

On a happier note, episode two pulled 12.59 million viewers. The show has been in the top ten for two weeks so far... which is a great jump from Samoa's pitiful early numbers. Great news to me because this season is really delivering so far.

Now if I could just correct my internal clock! On Thursday, it totally felt like Friday to me because I watched Survivor on Thursday nights for the better part of a decade.
 
Yeah hopefully the good ratings will make them realize they DON'T need Russell or Coach to get a bump.

^^ I agree I actually like Jill, she shows a lot of promise she seems like she is very smart but I thought telling Marty where the idol is was a bad move, he might use it against her. A smarter move would have been to find it herself and then show it to Marty to get him on her side.

I thought the same thing. I never understand why people place focus so much on getting someone to trust them that they expose themselves to vulnerabilities, instead of getting someone to trust them in a way that doesn't leave them vulnerable in the game.
 
Besides giving Russell Hantz and Rob Mariano a chance to redeem themselves and win Survivor again for a third and fourth time, respectively, the CBS reality competition has introduced a major twist that gives voted off contestants a chance to return to the game. Thus, redemption seems to be the likely theme for season 22, which could even be called Survivor: Redemption Island, though that’s an educated guess.

I'm not gonna watch that clip. Clearly he is an attention whore. He should just big ignored. Things like this start out innocent. Next thing you know he'll have his own reality show or be a tea bagger party candidate. You'd think I'm kidding but look at Kim Kardashian. She got famous for fucking Brandy's brother and taping it. Now she's more rich and famous thatnactors, singers, and people with talent.
 
He made an ass of himself on national television by saying something careless and exposing his true colors. Now he's trying to get himself out of the hole by patronizing the gay community. The hole just gets deeper.
