Survivor 21: Nicaragua

I also maintain that a woman will win this season because we're already down to six men and the remaining ones have terrible edits if one of them is going to be the winner.

I would think that too except for that episode one voice-over where Fabio says he doesn't care what they call him because "I'm gonna win the million dollars." No one else so far has had that kind of early voice-over that they always replay at the Reunion show right after coming back from the first commercial break (after the winner is revealed). The only other person who has talked about "winning the million" like that is Naonka...and we all know she's not getting it.

I do think that Jud has the best chance to win out of the men, because he had that random confessional two weeks ago in which he laid out his strategy while acknowledging that everybody thought he was a moron. It was very reminiscent of episode four of Samoa, when Natalie came out of Russell's shadow to announce that she was actually playing.

But, still, it doesn't seem as likely to me as most of the women winning.

My money is still on Brenda. She's consistently present, always portrayed as competent but never overbearing.

I'm disappointed that Marty let it all go to his head and has quickly become...not so cool. Now I'm rooting hardcore for Brenda to take him down.

I'm not a farmer....but can someone explain why they didn't eat the rooster. There is no purpose to keeping him around. If he fertilizes an egg it would take about 21 days to hatch if they were planning on raising baby chicks...so that is a mute point. The egg laying hens lay eggs almost daily sometimes more than 1 a day. The un-fertilized egg is what we cook. So why kill one of the egg laying hens instead of the rooster? Am I just stupid here?

This was just a classic survivor episode.

this season's not so bad

I want

- Naonka out of this game
- Benry & chase in my bed
- Marty to loose
- Yve to go the F3
- Sash & brenda to get blindsided
- Alina to win

At this point Holly, Dan & Jane are the only ones from the older tribe I can see going far

Holly's edit is very reminiscent of Kathy V-O from Survivor Marquesas, who incidentally is one of my favorite Survivor characters. They both have been portrayed in the earlygoing as the resident psychotic older woman of their tribe who gets saved from her demise after a tribal swap and then seems to find her bearings in the game. I don't expect Holly to win, but I do think she'll go far, especially because she's in with the younger crowd.

That winning quote? When he said flat out that he was going to win? Although Yve had some great quotes and Sash has that whole "million dollar smile" quote.

I'm in ~lust~ with Sash lmao

:p

I really wouldn't over analyze for one particular soundbite rather than a general portrait of the character.

^^ The reason I think it could be Fabio too is because right now I can see him outlasting the other guys (Benry and Chase will seem like bigger comp threats initially and Marty is already dead man walking) and if it's Fabio and a group of girls (I assume Brenda will be there) I can see him winning the final challenges and getting to the end, and being inoffensive (and likable) enough to win.

Of course, this is all insanely early speculation.

I just feel like Jud has lost their respect far to early in the game to win it. He'd have to be lucky enough to be sitting next to someone (or two people) who are really irritating/disliked. And I don't see him and NaOnka riding this out together.

He comes across as a doof but I wouldn't say he lost their respect exactly. Unless I'm forgetting something?

Speaking of which, do we know if it's going to be F2 or F3 this year? As always, I prefer a F2 format.

I guess Judd is as stupid as he has been portrayed.

Loved the tribal with Marty. Brenda is one sharp cookie.

The older folks did nothing but lie in this episode. And two of the younger folks went home. That was interesting.

I feel so bad for Purple Kelly. Six episodes and she's barely said a word, and has set the series record for most episodes without a confessional. I can just imagine her watching the show with her family and pointing at the screen saying "That's me rolling my eyes for a split second in the background!!"

Other than her continual neglect, good episode. Really shocked and sad that Kelly B. got booted because I'm tired of Marty's shtick even if he's eye candy, and Kelly B. is pretty likable even though the show was really forcing the Nay vs. fake leg storyline. Holly continues to my favorite overall, with Brenda and Jane next. I loved Jane's voting confessional coming immediately after Marty's "Vote Brenda."

And, yeah, I will be REALLY surprised if Jud wins this after that episode. The show has NEVER portrayed any of its winners as a dumbass to his extent.

Spiff, Yve was the youngest member of the older tribe, but she was still one of the older people nonetheless.

Also, I'm not thrilled that Brenda's alliance split the votes to flush out the idol, Marty didn't play it, and then they voted off KELLY. Why even split the votes in the first place if you wanted to vote off Kelly so much, then? If you wanted to get rid of the idol, vote Marty off in the tiebreaker. If you wanted to vote off Kelly B., don't force a tie for no reason. But don't force the tiebreaker and then not vote off the guy with the idol. Doesn't make much sense, which I only realized as I was halfheartedly paying attention to my homework.

I'm so very confused by what happened. I can't comprehend it. What... WHY... what!?!?! You didn't flush out the idol AND you've lost someone who was loyal to your alliance AND you pissed off the other side by alerting them to your intentions. I mean REALLY if you just wanted to vote Kelly B off WHY split the vote?

Brenda is lovely but...yeah, not so much with the logic. It made no sense for them to vote off Kelly B instead of Marty and if they wanted him to play the idol, um...indirectly telling him over and over that he should play it is NOT the way to do it! Marty isn't the player I'd hoped he'd be, but he was smart enough to see through Brenda outing him at TC for what it was: a transparent attempt to get him to play the idol.

In other news, I continue to be grateful for Chase's magnificent chest.

Some of my impressions so far with Survivor: Nicaragua:

It's a ride.

A couple days ago I was thinking the three women I like best, and would love to seem make it toward the end (maybe even Top-3) are: Jane, Yve, and Kelly B. Whatt'ya know!?

I'm now thinking moves.

On the yellow tribe, I'd like for Marty and Fabio to unite. For Marty to apologize to Jane, make her feel comfortable (with him and Jill), and persuade her and win over her trust because she may be misguided hoping to rely on the kindness of Brenda, Sash, and Kelly S. And Fabio needs to realize: he ain't in it with that original younger group (with Chase and Naonka on the blue team; he could be dismissed by Alina and Benry).

I want dynamics.

Marty + Fabio + Jill + Jane should unite and remove Sash and Brenda next. (I'd start with Sash.) Leave silent Kelly S., who never gets camera time probably because she makes it past the merge and gives no action in the game.

On the blue team, Holly is odd. She may be stupid in the game. Or, she may be just someone rolls the dice and gets good luck. Dan seems to have no future; and if he were to go far it would be like when Susie finished No. 2 in Gabon. (No one would've guessed that.)
