Survivor 21: Nicaragua

There was something so special the way Fabio was always so easy going and happy. Especially after seeing his mom. Usually near the end of the game, the finalists are very stressed and generally not pleasant people to be around. But Fabio was enjoying himself to the end as well as being a strong competitor; he was capable of doing both which I haven't seen to this degree since Ethan Zohn.

I thought Sash was so cute at the reunion. Very well groomed and a beautiful smile. I agree he looked terrible when he was all emaciated and unkempt on the islnad.

Shannon actually looked really old and wrinkly at the reunion and just as stupid. Benry looked ok, but the more his personality came out he seemed almost exactly like Shannon, an obnoxious, arrogant douchebag.

I still don't think Jud is attractive at all. There something really weird about his teeth.

Chase is kinda generic but cute.

Brenda is my favorite girl. She is so beautiful. And I like that in spite of it all she voted for her snuggle buddy Chase. I still cant believe Shannon called her a less hot version of Parvati. Bitch please.

I really liked her too and also thought she's a beauty, and intelligent too. Brenda was not so intelligent in that she let a bit of arrogance get the best of her by thinking she and Sash ruled the roost though...and that she didn't have a back-up plan or way to scramble when she faced eviction. Still...I thought she was a good player and if she comes back for an all stars...she'll be able to learn from her past mistakes and play wiser.

And yes, she was way hotter than Parvati, but I don't think she had Parvati's charm and wiles.

I was wondering if she voted for Chase because she knew Sash had no chance of winning...so she threw her vote to her second choice.

Considering all the things Brenda said about Chase during her run in the game, I am surprised she spoke so glowingly of him and voted for him. She was always saying that he was needy, paranoid.

She is a beautiful woman, I grant her that and she looked super spectacular at the Reunion show.

I think Alina is a great looking gal, but that "I don't want to give a million dollars to a boy, I want to give it to a man," only meant to me that Chase was her only choice. I didn't like that she said that because she was equating game play with age.

I don't think what Alina said anything to do with age but more maturity. I know u like Jud but he acts like he's 14 most of the time. And even though he won and congrats to him, she knows like a lot of people do that Jud is not the most deserving Survivor winner. He really didnt know what was going on 90% of the time and had no strategy. He is merely lucky he won immunity when it counted.

Exactly. Anyone who watched the show this season knows that this is objectively true. It's a fact that Jud wasn't in on every vote and strategy, and it's a fact that he only made it to the end by winning three immunites in a row. Nothing wrong with that, and good for him, but I can understand then how someone like Alina would view that as unimpressive and vote for Chase instead.

I'm just disappointed that Naonka didn't vote for her buddy, which would have given us an awesome upset and a sweet/surprising victory for Chase.

BS. He played abetter game than either Chase or Sash and played it and won.

What the hell did Chase know that made him so great. Nada. He was as clueless as that dead chicken of Jane's. Brenda even said as much during her drs, and so did Sash.

Sash was just a sleaze bag mouth full of teeth. He slithered around as much as those snakes Survivor loves.

The person who deserved to win, won. Get over it.

Calm down. No one is upset Jud won. There was no one I really hated this season. But the kid wasn't making any moves or making any alliances. As paranoid and sloppy as Chase was he actually played the game and so did Sash. They made alliances and came up with plans. Can u name an idea, alliance, elimination, or anything that Jud played a significant role in? Dont think so. He was lucky and athletic that's good for him. Sometimes that can help u win. But most long time survivor fans want more and that is what disappointed a lot of people. So please stop getting so defensive.

:rotflmao: Chase was a part of the dominant alliance both before and after the merge. He was a part of the majority on every vote. He voted for Marty, Jud didn't. He voted for Benry, Jud didn't. In fact, Jud was fighting for his life that round, and he was totally left in the dark and cast a stray vote.

Just because Chase was wishy-washy doesn't mean he was "clueless." He was clearly well-informed and an important part of the numbers game on virtually every vote. If that weren't the case, he wouldn't have made the last-minute adjustment to vote against Brenda and preserve his alliance with Jane/Holly/NaOnka.

To say that Chase was more clueless than Jud is a complete joke.

I'm not upset, but it's a shitty outcome.

Jud should not have won, and this season sucks.

That's my opinion, and I'm sticking with it.

Chase may have been more clued in to what happened throughout the game, but it's not like he made an amazing strategy. He was savvy enough to know when to switch alliances, but he never really dictated when someone was going to be voted off.

In the end, being in on things and being strategic doesn't mean much if you aren't likable enough to win and/or you are put into a position where you have to win comps in order to get out who you want.

Sash, Jane, Chase, and Holly could have gotten rid of Jud instead of Benry, but they didn't. Ultimately that was their biggest mistake.

I think we all know that Jud would have been much less likely to win had the two girls not quit or not been allowed to vote on the jury.

Intriguing tidbit: Chase would have won if the two quitters weren't allowed on the jury, as two of Fabio's five votes came from Na'onka and Kelly. Despite preferring Chase over Fabio as the winner, I stand by my gut and say that the girls earned their spots on the jury even if they quit. Na'onka vote for Jud over Chase still completely baffles me though.

At the same time, I probably wouldn't find Chase to be a compelling character if he did win. I feel that they would have given him the JT golden southern boy edit instead of the more nuanced, complex character he was as a runner-up. Ditto for Holly, really. Chase was like a male Kelly Wiglesworth, while Holly was a slightly younger Kathy Vavrick-O'Brien, and I find those types of characters to be much more interesting than "JT redux" or however the fuck they'd neuter Holly's edit to fit her into the recent trend of inoffensive winners.

Congrats to Fabio.

I was bummed for Chase because he was awesome at the final tribal council. Liked all his answers especially when he pointed out that frequently they got back to camp after tribal and Fabio was clueless of what transpired. Oh well. Can't win 'em all.

Thats a good thing for Fabio

now bring Redemtpion island on !!!!!!!!

Jud is officially the worst winner ever, don't even try to justify his win. He sucks.

Sash deserved the win but I was spoiled and knew he wouldn't :(

Sash was looking mighty fine at the reunion though, yum!

^^ Um I started to like him a wee bit more too but don't kid yourself, we'll never see Sash again. He's unpopular, and he didn't leave enough of an impression to warrant an unpopular return. Potential reruns from this season include Brenda, Marty, Jane (ugh) and Naonka (double ugh).

Wouldn't it be funny if Naonka returned when Jeff said they don't invite quitters back?

^^ LOL yes. But the editors and producer clearly don't think Jeff is as important as he thinks he is (see all the gleeful inclusions over the years of contestants like Jonathan Penner and Courtney dressing down Probst) so I could see them doing it if only because Naonka, well...left an impression.

But the editors and producer clearly don't think Jeff is as important as he thinks he is

They owe much of the show's 21 seasons of success to Jeff. I know many people can't stand him. Sometimes he rubs me the wrong way too. But I seriously doubt we would be going into the 22nd season if Jeff had left the show a long time ago. After this long, he is just an integral part of the show whether you like him or not. The show's producers obviously think he is extremely important to the show (which is also why they let him co-produce the show.;))

But I seriously doubt we would be going into the 22nd season if Jeff had left the show a long time ago.

I disagree with this completely. Jeff is 0% of the reason I watch the show and most fans seem to care/love facets of the show that have nothing to do with him. If he had been replaced by another host at any point, I doubt the show would falter. This isn't Simon Cowell to American Idol.
