Shelter - the selfishness of the sister still annoys me to no end.

Oz - The Great and Powerful - awful. Everything was wrong with it.

I liked The Amazing Spiderman because it was much closer to the comic than the Spiderman series played by Tobey Maguire. I did not like Tobey Maguire's version of Spiderman because in his version, the web was excreted out of his body. In the comic, a mechanical instrument was used to shoot out the web. The Amazing Spiderman followed this.

I also like Andrew Garfield's Spiderman because he played it a bit more flippantly - as it would be, as Spiderman was a teenager. But I was a bit disappointed with Andrew Garfield's version of Spiderman because I did not hear his uncle advising "With great power comes great responsibility".

Uncle Ben didn't specifically say the line did he? It was implied, or something that Peter arrives at following Uncle Ben's death.

I bought a bunch of blu-rays again recently... I bought Beauty & The Beast 3D blu-ray. I've never seen the movie before ever, and I am glad that I never did. Don't see what the appeal was. The songs are cloying but the animation is gorgeous as are some of the characters, Gaston and the Prince.
Belle is obviously suffering from some kind Stockholm syndrome and I kept thinking that the Beast would have a big old turgid beast cock sprouting out from that furry region whenever he was around Belle. Clearly he was pissy and mean because he wasn't getting laid for all those years.

Excalibur on Blu-ray: What a fucking surprise this movie turned out to be. A young patrick stewart, gabriel byrne, helen mirren. Since I was burned by Merlin Series finale, it was quite interesting to see the Arthurian legend playout throughout this movie... oh and my child hood crush Nicholas Clays displays his wonderful ass again, remember Lady Chatterley's Lover. He even fights an imagined ghost of himself while naked, falling and flailing about with his nuggets in full display, sadly no frontal. I LOVE YOU NICHOLAS CLAY... May you rest in peace! Oh, Gabriel Byrne was such a fucking sexy fuck back then wasn't he! :)

Anyway, will need to spend some time with the rest of the blus later this week! Enjoy people! :D

Spooky, Excalibur is one of my all time favorites. :luv:

aquirre the wrath of god

I'm pretty sure I'd marry Herzog just to listen to him speak. I think his voice is the best voice in the whole world.:luv2:

However, I'm not sure I appreciated Aguirre in spite of its acclaim. You like it?

The Impossible. It's a total crime this masterpiece didn't get more recognition in North America. Warning- will make you cry like a baby.

I agree... I didn't know about this film until I bought it and loved it. Its a one time movie though... watch it anymore and it loses something.
OT: Ewan McGregor gets hotter as he gets older, what a pleasant surprise! :D

zoltanspawn: Check out Lady Chatterley's Lover if you can on blu-ray, kind of hard to find. Mine is a german (European) origin copy but plays the original English track. That man's peen is visible in nice transfer in that one, he looks gorgeous soaping up his big ass in that one too :P.... Its a true shame he wasn't in many more films like that... unless I missed something else :D

The Perks of Being a Wallflower

A public school district in one of the Western suburbs banned the book. When I learned of the ban, I borrowed the book and also watched the movie. I wanted to find out why it was banned. I found out: the school district is really fucked up. I doubt if anyone of "authority" even bothered to read it. Logan Lerman was pretty cute too. ;)

The Perks of Being a Wallflower

Logan Lerman was pretty cute too.

I just watched this, too. I thought it was rather unrealistic. I'm not someone who has to see a movie as soon as it's released, so I catch-up later. Yeah, LL is a cutie, but he's about 22 or 23, and his character was supposed to be 14 or 15. Why didn't they get a younger actor?

Also just watched Rise of the Guardians - yawntastic. And Reservoir Dogs - dull, but a good first work for QT.

Oz - The Great and Powerful - awful. Everything was wrong with it.

Well, Sam Raimi...

You know he's written/co-written all those horrible Evil Dead flicks. There's even a meme about how OTGAP parallels Army of Darkness. Gah.

Still, you might be exaggerating when you say "Everything was wrong with it."

1. I liked James Franco as OZ. (Ha ha!)

2. China Town was clever.

3. Rachel Weisz as Evanora rocked my world.

4. Winkie Guards were spot on.

5. Automated scarecrow army was brill.
Catch it, smell it, taste it.

I watched Parker, starring Jason Statham. It was so-so. I did not quite like Jennifer Lopez's character.

Your thoughts? Been hearing good things about it and it looks really good.

Watched a really bad-good movie with my brother yesterday called "Stone Cold" starred some football player that was big in the late 80's/early 90's, from what my brother told me. Plenty of bad dialog, fuck ups in a lot of scenes and cheesy action. Although the finale of the film was actually pretty nuts and semi-legit good (for an 80's/90's movie that is).

Hi MDL.....the film was uneven (like the first one) but entertaining. The wrap-around segment was a definite weak link. In my humble opinion, the segments directed by Eduardo Sánchez ("A Ride in the Park") and Timo Tjahjanto /Gareth Huw Evans ("Safe Haven") were the best. "Safe Haven" is quite disturbing. The film is worth at least a one time viewing.

I saw "Stone Cold" back in the day. I LOVE cheesy action movies! :)

Ok more blu-ray viewing for me... not that anyone cares.

Fatal Attraction: Michael Douglas, Glenn Close and Anne Archer.
You know I actually felt sorry for Alex in the movie but that is what men are really like. Still, she was fucking scary later on in the movie. The violence in the film is quite epicly well done for a film of its age. For the longest time I was wondering if the child was a boy until they revealed that she was in fact a girl... I think. LOL
There is some pretty decent behind the scenes material here to enjoy including an alternate ending.
Oh btw... poor bunny!

The Point of No Return: Bridget Fonda, Gabriel Byrne, Dermot Mulroney, and some old broad.
I saw this years ago on cable tv and I liked it but seeing it now, its just awful. Bridget Fonda is not believeable as an assassin probably because I am so used to seeing her as the soft, delicate waif (Single White Female). Everything about this film is just blah... even the film music is so without any kind of personality, you just want to stab your ears with an ice pick hearing it. This is after all a remake of a better film.
If there is some semblance of enjoyment it would be because Dermot Mulroney looks yummy as ever, as does Mr. Gabriel Byrne.

The Shawshank Redemption: Tim Robbins, Morgan Freeman, William Sadler and so on...
I have never seen this film and so it was a pleasant surprise that I found myself enjoying it all the more. Frank Darabont directed this now-classic and its wonderfully done.
Robbins is pretty good but I found Morgan Freeman's performance a lot more affecting than his.
Looking at the film now, it makes me laugh because of all the references which are used in pop culture all over the place; The Simpsons, Family Guy and Southpark have referenced some element of the film at one time or another.
Man, that Tim Robbins was one tall motherfucker. :)

Cujo: Dee Wallace, Daniel Hugh-Kelley, Danny Pintauro
I vaguely remember seeing this film as a child. As a result of it, I was terrified of large dogs especially when they would start barking at me. I have since outgrown that fear of dogs in general. There were some really tense moments in the film that still kind of haunt me. There is that one scene in particular, dizzying.
Anyway, seeing the behind the scenes making of material on the film really takes away the mystique of the film. Like how it was actually freezing when they were supposed to be sweltering in the summer heat in the car.
Anyway, I had some pervy thoughts about Daniel Hugh Kelley at the beginning of the film. If my dad looked like that... Christ I am going to hell!
P.S. Dee Wallace is cool as always, sad to see her in dreck like Lords of Salem today. I remember her fondly from E.T. Then there is Danny Pintauro, I only remember him from Who's The Boss. That screaming he does in the film sheesh... I'd slap him too.

Big Business: Bette Midler, Lily Tomlin
I am not ashamed to say that I love this film... sure its silly and really indicative of a film setup from the 1950s.
You do have to stretch your sense of disbelief quite a bit but its a movie, the laughs are there and its a hoot seeing Midler and Tomlin play off one another. I wish there were some behind the scenes material here or even a commentary track, god that would be awesome.
Side note: When I was younger "teenager" seeing this, that Italian guy really turned me on. Odd that a few years after that, one of my aunt's Iranian guys who looked like him asked me to go down on him and so I tried, but he smelt pretty bad where I vomitted all over his junk. LOL

Sex and The City TV Series 1 & 2.
Okay... I did not finish the series and I think I've had my fill for now.
The only characters whom I thoroughly enjoy is the nice one... whats her name? And the slutty one. The series is so bogged down by Sarah Jessica Parker's character... she obssesses over that one guy and is so fucking needy.
I wish Jennifer Jason Leigh showed up and murdered her during one of the episodes...

will return again... sometime. :)

I kept thinking that the Beast would have a big old turgid beast cock sprouting out from that furry region whenever he was around Belle.

Oh, you're here right now. I kept meaning to ask you...

What the hell is your problem?

Felt the same way about the wrap around segment of the first one. Will definitely check out when I can.

Me too, watch tons of cheesy-bad action/horror movies with my brothers. So much fun watching them with people.
