the last film you watched thread

I saw The Great Gatsby. I enjoyed it, I enjoyed seeing the 1920's. I didn't know the story before hand and enjoyed it. It isn't a classic like The Titanic was but it was good enough.

Oh, you're here right now. I kept meaning to ask you...

What the hell is your problem?

Problem!? What problem?
You're on a board where pictures of penises and anal sex is the norm.
There are discussions going on around you about people having sex, pooping and peeing on one another...
:)

I'm a bit disappointed at "Now you see me"!

Poor characterization, and poor story overall. I just enjoyed the cleverness of the movie. They could've extended it for 20 more minutes (which would make it approximately 125 minutes) and put more details and enrich the story further. It could've been an absolute blast.

Touché, mon frère.

Man of Steel, the plain 35mm, 2D version. It didn't suck like many review said. The first two-thirds is actually very good. The remainder goes out of control and becomes a generic, loud, summer action movie with lots of destruction and things exploding. It loses much of the character that the first parts of the film does a good job crafting. I easily recommend though. Henry Cavill definitely gets the job done as the new Superman.

Man of Steel: Poor. Star Trek Into Darkness: Outstanding. World War Z: Exceeded Expectations. (using the OWL grading system for those of you who know it.)

Billy Elliot. Rewatched for the umpteenth time. Gets me every single time.

The final scene is just perfection.

The Hangover III

Not bad, for a Hangover movie. It has some pretty funny scenes and the ending was really well done.

Favorite line: Stu, when they're driving into Las Vegas, "Somebody needs to burn this place to the ground."

Just watched V/H/S 2.

I thought that all the segments were at least entertaining, outside of the wrap around segment. "Phase I Clinical Trials" and "Ride in the Park" had both really neat ideas when it came down to the perspective of the camera, the latter being the stronger out of those two, really enjoyed it. "Safe Haven" was crazy and disturbing through out, definitely thought the pacing was good and made the segment stronger because it decided to build the tension in the little time it had. "Slumber Party" was decent, but really didn't do anything special to me.

Bonhoeffer (2003). A biography of the theologian and nazi-resister whose remarkable inner life was a bulwark against a time of horror.

Ray's Kapurush (The Coward) (1965). A man who eschewed his chance to marry faces the agony of his regret when he unexpectedly encounters his ex.

Here's a clip.

Sincerely idiotic fundamentalist Americans fantasize about a historical solution to their problems that involves superlative atrocities.

Waiting for Armageddon (2009).

Agree with your review. "Safe Haven" was my favorite segment.
