Ok more blu-ray viewing for me... not that anyone cares.
Fatal Attraction: Michael Douglas, Glenn Close and Anne Archer.
You know I actually felt sorry for Alex in the movie but that is what men are really like. Still, she was fucking scary later on in the movie. The violence in the film is quite epicly well done for a film of its age. For the longest time I was wondering if the child was a boy until they revealed that she was in fact a girl... I think. LOL
There is some pretty decent behind the scenes material here to enjoy including an alternate ending.
Oh btw... poor bunny!
The Point of No Return: Bridget Fonda, Gabriel Byrne, Dermot Mulroney, and some old broad.
I saw this years ago on cable tv and I liked it but seeing it now, its just awful. Bridget Fonda is not believeable as an assassin probably because I am so used to seeing her as the soft, delicate waif (Single White Female). Everything about this film is just blah... even the film music is so without any kind of personality, you just want to stab your ears with an ice pick hearing it. This is after all a remake of a better film.
If there is some semblance of enjoyment it would be because Dermot Mulroney looks yummy as ever, as does Mr. Gabriel Byrne.
The Shawshank Redemption: Tim Robbins, Morgan Freeman, William Sadler and so on...
I have never seen this film and so it was a pleasant surprise that I found myself enjoying it all the more. Frank Darabont directed this now-classic and its wonderfully done.
Robbins is pretty good but I found Morgan Freeman's performance a lot more affecting than his.
Looking at the film now, it makes me laugh because of all the references which are used in pop culture all over the place; The Simpsons, Family Guy and Southpark have referenced some element of the film at one time or another.
Man, that Tim Robbins was one tall motherfucker.
Cujo: Dee Wallace, Daniel Hugh-Kelley, Danny Pintauro
I vaguely remember seeing this film as a child. As a result of it, I was terrified of large dogs especially when they would start barking at me. I have since outgrown that fear of dogs in general. There were some really tense moments in the film that still kind of haunt me. There is that one scene in particular, dizzying.
Anyway, seeing the behind the scenes making of material on the film really takes away the mystique of the film. Like how it was actually freezing when they were supposed to be sweltering in the summer heat in the car.
Anyway, I had some pervy thoughts about Daniel Hugh Kelley at the beginning of the film. If my dad looked like that... Christ I am going to hell!
P.S. Dee Wallace is cool as always, sad to see her in dreck like Lords of Salem today. I remember her fondly from E.T. Then there is Danny Pintauro, I only remember him from Who's The Boss. That screaming he does in the film sheesh... I'd slap him too.
Big Business: Bette Midler, Lily Tomlin
I am not ashamed to say that I love this film... sure its silly and really indicative of a film setup from the 1950s.
You do have to stretch your sense of disbelief quite a bit but its a movie, the laughs are there and its a hoot seeing Midler and Tomlin play off one another. I wish there were some behind the scenes material here or even a commentary track, god that would be awesome.
Side note:
When I was younger "teenager" seeing this, that Italian guy really turned me on. Odd that a few years after that, one of my aunt's Iranian guys who looked like him asked me to go down on him and so I tried, but he smelt pretty bad where I vomitted all over his junk. LOL
Sex and The City TV Series 1 & 2.
Okay... I did not finish the series and I think I've had my fill for now.
The only characters whom I thoroughly enjoy is the nice one... whats her name? And the slutty one. The series is so bogged down by Sarah Jessica Parker's character... she obssesses over that one guy and is so fucking needy.
I wish Jennifer Jason Leigh showed up and murdered her during one of the episodes...
will return again... sometime.
