A full-fledged American myth, The Night of the Hunter (1955).

 
A possibly serious film made ridiculous by the excesses of a director unable to forego the inclusion of pink colored cigarettes.

A Single Man (2009).

Odd little campy late 60s film. Page is awesome. Gordon is always a joy to watch. Story is a bit thin but still holds interest.

I don't know how I missed this one. It was on TCM the other night and I stayed up past 2am watching it.
 
Will & Grace (DVD Season One): Eric McCormack, Debra Messing, Sean Hayes and Meagan Mullaly
Wow... I could barely finish season one.
Will is such a control freak and Grace herself is annoying.
I found myself skipping most of the Will and Grace scenes because they are so irritating together.
The only ones I enjoy watching are Jack and Karen. Karen is like proto-Pam (True Blood).
She is friggin hilarious and kudos to the actress and writers for making her so enjoyable to watch.

Caveman (DVD): Ringo Starr, Shelley Long, Dennis Quaid, John Matuszak
I vaguely remember seeing this as a child and finding it hilarious. I still find it "cute" in some ways today. Ringo may not be a Shakespearean actor but he is quite likable here.
Its so fascinating sometimes when you see an actor when they were so young and wide eyed.
Dennis Quaid looks so delicious here with his glazed look and dressed in caveman gear.
There are quite a bit of homo-erotic elements here, the most obvious is the scene between Ringo and his rival John Matuszak.
I don't know how that came about but I am glad it did, John was a big man... very nice, very nice indeed. :D

Movie 43 (DVD): Kate Winslett, Hugh Jackman, Halle Berry, Dennis Quaid, Greg Kinnear, Naomi Watts, Liev Shrieber, Elizabeth Banks, Josh Duhamel... etc.

This movie plays out much like Seth MacFarlane's side gags from Family Guy or that direct to DVD Cavalcade of something something that he released a few years back. Its a bunch of skits played out, some humourous and most, not!

The first skit is with Kate Winslet and Hugh Jackman. Somewhat humourous but its a one note joke that plays out all the usual jokes.
There is one with Naomi Watts and Liev Shreiber which is tonnes of creepy...
There is a skit with Gerard Butler as a Leprechaun which was somewhat funny if it had been more fleshed out.
The one with Halle Berry and the White British guy was kind of funny.
Oh and there is the one with Elizabeth Banks and Josh Duhamel and a cartoon cat which was quite hilarious, gross and way too short.
It's a mixed bag, most will hate it and some will likely love it. I am indifferent to it.

Grave of the Fireflies (Blu): An animated movie from studio Ghibli.
Anyway, I had to check this one out because I love the previous works from this studio (Spirited Away, Princess Monoke, etc.)
The animation is always beautiful from this studio, as is the story. Though not a fantasy story this time out, its a war-time story about a boy and his baby sister in some Japanese countryside. If you have never seen the film, please check it out.

Cleopatra 50th Anniversary Edition Blu-ray: Elizabethe Taylor, some old guy, another old guy...
Okay, the only reason I bought this was to see the spectacular sets which are quite marvelous, not to mention Ms. Taylor's extravagant costumes for the film. Now I haven't had time to review the special features but will look into them at some point.
The film itself is quite alright but historically, Cleopatra was reportedly ugly and a skank.
I imagine a remake would have to be XXX-rated and star some porn actress and some porn studs.

Adventure Time Season 1 & 2 (Blu): John Dimaggio, Jeremy Shada, spongebob's voice, etc.
This little gem of a show kind of snuck up on me. I was checking out one of the toon networks and came across this... I had to get the series. Its funny, groovy and features a great cast and some hilarious dialogue.
Its one of those shows that is for kids but some humour or dialogue would only be understandable to adults.

The Day After Tomorrow (Blu): Dennis Quaid, Jakc Gyllenthall, etc.
Yes... I love disaster porn like a lot of people. As silly as the movie is, its got quite some great setups and scenarios which provide lots of brainless action.
Jake doesn't look quite as good here as I remember, he looks like a butch lesbian woman most of the time.
Not that I am saying that butch lesbian women are ugly or anything... I'm just saying that in this instance, eww!

..| I love this film. I suggest you also watch "Let's Scare Jessica to Death" (1971). It's a slow burn but very creepy! :)

 
Destricted (2006), eight experimental shorts on the subject of sex/porn. Includes Matthew Barney's Hoist, in which a "green man" encounters a white, slippery drive shaft and a typically rape-y, whirling Gaspar Noe offering, We Fuck Alone.

I loved this wonderful piece by Marilyn Minter. Green Pink Caviar. Best watched in some better format than YouTube, but nonetheless:
