Right? I mean, who woulda thunk it??? And Braden Looper went 6-1 in the month of May???

I can think of at least 9-10 games this season (5 blown by Izzy alone) where we should have won the game, hands down.

Last night was one of them.

Shoulda, woulda, coulda....

;)

Joba
Pedro :gogirl:

I'm-a so happy. More later
Nice brief recap, sonny!Joba will take a little time to adjust, really happy about Pedro's first effort back!Look forward to your impressions of both efforts.

Abs IS so bad,but he's so adorable that way!;)

Glad to see St. Louis winning last night. When is the first Mets-Cards meeting,btw?:badgrin:They're gonna "cream" the Cards in the way Abs doesn't like!:p

June 30th through July 3rd - a four game swee...I mean that's when the Cardinals will hopefully beat the Mets

Right after that, we play the Cubs for a three game set over the 4th of July weekend. It's gonna be a fantastic week for baseball! (!)

And, actually, that weekend before the Mets come to town, I'm driving over to Kansas City to see the Cards/Royals series. That's always a good time, because we start tailgating at like noon for a 7:00 pm game

may your fine team, led by a favorite former White Sox manager, sweep that minor league team from the north side of Chicago every time you play them...

and I wish that also to the Mets, Reds, Astros, Pirates, Phillies, Rockies, Braves, Nats, Padres, Dodgers, Brewers, Dbacks, Giants, Marlins...

Don't get ahead of yourself,Abs:pI just checked the schedule and the Yankees play the Mets at Shea just before that(plus they have a make-up game from the rainout at Yankee Stadium from their first series that probably will be played at Yankee Stadium as the day part of a day-night doubleheader)and Boston for the July 4 weekend just after! It's gonna be huge here as well!:gogirl:

That Royals series seems like a lot of fun, too.Wish the Royals were as competitive as they used to be,but it will be a fun series for Missouri.

One thing I know you and Abs will find agreement on....you both loathe the Cubs!Something to build on!;)

Joba Chamberlain’s first start showed us he isn’t stretched out enough yet to start. Plus, the end of that game proved how much the Yankees need him in the pen.Watching the Yankees lately is sorta like watching the Mets in May, bad baseball all around.

What’s up with Zito? I have not been paying much attention to him but man is he ever off his game. I was shocked at his performance, low velocity and trouble hitting spots. His change up and fastball looked like the same speed to me, what’s up with that? He is just a kid, too young to be losing it, has he been playing that bad lately or was that just a bad outing?

So it looks like Smoltz is done for the season, he will be having shoulder surgery.
Poor Braves can’t cut a break Well, chop chop mother f#@kers.

I'm wondering if they should just wait til springtraining to do this Joba transition to starter. He showed an incredible fastball but has to break in all his pitches and it's going to take time for him to be going even a solid six innings with consistency. That will tax the pen further, and now with Joba out of the pen, there is NO dependable bridge to Rivera now.Obviously time will tell, but I think this experiment should be put off til next spring training.

Zito has been this way since he got to San Francisco last year.He was really mediocre last year and this year it's gotten worse.I always liked him in Oakland(and found him hot as hell)but though he never threw in an overpowering way,he used to be around 90 with his fastball and his curveball was off the charts nasty. Now he appears unable to even consistently touch 85-88 and his curveball is not anywhere near as reliable.I know,he's only 28 but hopefully it's mechnics rather than a sudden physical decline. He just can't hit spots anymore reliably...in th NL especially you don't have to be a flame thrower to be a good pitcher, but Zito is a mess now. That seven year,$126,000,000 contract he signed with San Francisco now looks like one of the all time worst.

It's tough for Atlanta about John Smoltz being out for the year because he needs season ending shoulder surgery.Ordinarily I would hate to bash the competition, especially with a bad break like this I have mixed feelings about Atlanta and John Smoltz because of his unsympathetic stance on gays....but I have to say I laughed really hard at"chop chop mother f#@kers!";)i'm so proud of you,sonny...that is a great insult!..|

I work hard on my material and Abs don't notice!:cry:And that is a flat out funny insult,sonny......that's a New York insult!..|

White Sox win again - an amazing run at first place thus far this season

Nick Swisher, Jim Thome, and Paul Konerko have all been slumping too and maybe coming out it so better days may be ahead

Jose Contreras continues to amze, too, with pitching that I didn't think he was capable of

Abs is the best, I love messin with that kid (*8*)
I know you do as well Sausy.;)

Yeah maybe ya gotta be a New Yorker to appreciate the humor in my Braves comment, it goes back to the rivalry of Mets/Atlanta, and of course those comments made by dumb-ass Rocker.
Like you said, "A New York Insult"

Tough loss last night, but the important thing is that Pelfrey was solid. ..|
