** The Offical 2008 MLB Thead!!! **

Abs is the best, I love messin with that kid (*8*)
I know you do as well Sausy.;)

Yeah maybe ya gotta be a New Yorker to appreciate the humor in my Braves comment, it goes back to the rivalry of Mets/Atlanta, and of course those comments made by dumb-ass Rocker.
Like you said, "A New York Insult"

Tough loss last night, but the important thing is that Pelfrey was solid. ..|
I know sonny,you know I do love razzing Abs,too.;)

I just loved that insult....every time I think about it,I

Last night was a downer, but you're right about Pelfrey. He did a really solid job.I just would like to see the Mets go on a five or six game tear and really start to make up placement in the standings

Boo.

I love my sonny and Sausy but -

I hate when my Cards lose dammit! :grrr:

The loss in Washington, after the double header [after winning the first game] -

the Cards came back after a 7-0 deficit to tie it up in the top of the 9th....then, take a lead in the top of the 10th....

But dammit a 2 run HR sealed our fate in the bottom of the 10th...fuck!

And then we lose today vs. the Astros, in the same division, even though they were 8 games back...

We need to catch up to the fucking Cubs!

Hold me...

Mets lost second night in a row to the Padres,2-1!With Santana starting,no less!:cry:We're letting the Phillies extend their lead over us,and we're back stuck on .500!:(At least the Cards played with some feeling, made a battle of it..... and after the past week, where the offense and effort level had improved tremendously for the Mets! There are times I don't get this Mets team at all!:(You ,me and sonny can have a group hug(group)though I could see out of the corner of my eye you're groping sonny's ass,Abs!:p

(*8*)(*8*)

There there now baby, sausy and I feel your pain. We are having the the Phillies to deal with, those bastards keeping pulling away from us.
The Cards are only 3.5 games behind the Cubs, and 3 games ahead of the Brewers. keep the faith baby.
THe Mets are 5.5 behind the Phillies. We just can't seem to make any head way there. You gotta catch up to the Cubs and we gotta catch up to the Phillies.
Ready--- Set--- Go.

For sure I would have to watch my ass in a group hug with Abs,
Truth is, though I's prolly enjoy it as much as he would. ;)

We lost the last two in spite of two good pitching performances.
The bats have gone cold again. Pefrey and Santana got no support in those two games. We can only hope Santana will bounce back from the shot he took to his shoulder, Just a bruise I guess, but it is his left sholder:eek:. Sunday we find out if Pedro can still hold it together and pull out a win, but we will still lose the series cause Perez pitches tonight :help:. My cousins graduation party is today, so I will not have to suffer through that game.
I am concerned about Ryan Church, he is still have problems with vertigo, we need him healthy and back in the game.

Ready--- Set--- Go.

Damn - I just got this:

(*8*)

I'm not gonna be able to watch the game tonight, cause I'll be at Dave Matthews at Busch Stadium - the first ever concert at the new one! (!)

Does that kinda count that I'm going to a baseball related venue?

Go Cards!

And the White Sox smash division rival Twins as their most unexpected run in first place continues.

I'll take my leave of this thread since this is not about MLB baseball but a three person private love fest. Which is cool. But should be so labeled. Sad when people refuse to engage in convesation but maintain a clique.

Hope the Cards sweep the cubs.

Hope the Mets flounder just enough to get Jerry Manuel manage the Mets and then you'll see them smoothly take the division title.

Hope you all have a nice season.

Oh please Jack

Just because we like to have a little fun while discussing baseball doesn't mean you have to get all mad because people aren't quoting your posts, or whatever the hell inspired your previous post.

CONGRATULATIONS WHITE SOX!!! GOOD JOB OF BEING 4.5 GAMES AHEAD OF THE TWINS!!!!

Anyways the Cards won last night and the Cubs lost, so it's a good day for baseball! (!)

Sorry you have to go,.but you are taking this whole thing waaaay to seriously. Maybe you should just chill and enjoy the ride here.
So hang out, don't go away mad.
Plus, no offense dude, but you sound like you need to get laid. ;)

Oh please Jack

Abs is in St. Louis,he went to a great concert and the Cards are winning again. It's a great day for Card baseball,at least!:p

i still luvs Abs too(*8*).....hoping(damn there's no fingers crossed smilie)the Mets can pull it off against San Diego.5-4 as of now,Mets favor...for once the opffense is carrying the starting pitching with Pedro struggling through five.

Billy Wagner just about blew the game for the Mets, giving up a run scoring single and just now a fucking three run homer to Tony Clark! Now instead of being up 6-4 the Mets are down 8-6,bottom of the eighth.:grrr:Swept by the Pads, and big mouth Billy better point this loss to himself if the score holds!:mad:He just had to get one out to close out the eighth, couldn't even do that without damaging the Met's cause! This team better get damn serious returning home, because being swept by te struggling(not so much any more)Padres is unacceptable. There is NO excuse for not getting back home taking this one.

We are a joke once again.
The pitching improves some what and the bats go cold. The bats wake up and the pitchers have meltdowns. Catchers (Castro) don't bother to show up for a game on time, we left close to 30 guys stranded on base in four games.

I can't talk about it anymore today, I have the day off, goin to hit the beach and try and forget the Mets for a day.
But, of course I will be back on Tuesday cheering my boys on,
I still love those bastards, what-a-ya-gonna do :help:

Please please please please please just be a strained calf for Albert Pujols...

I just couldn't take a tore muscle or something similar happen to him. I can only pray it's something that only puts him on the 15 day DL, and not out for the season :(

You would see a grown man cry - i.e., me, seriously...

Pray for him!

I didn't know until now but read about it after I saw this.Hope it's not a tear and Albert is not lost for a significant period. He's one of the best ever and it would be a tough loss if the calf injury is serious. Not in the best of moods with the way the Mets are letting the season get away from them...but I'm sending whatever positive vibes I have for a quick recovery for Albert....and you know I don't want to see Abs cry(*8*)

Well,it looks as if Albert Pujols will only be out for three weeks or so with a sprained calf, not a torn one that could have been a season ender. But he'll miss the first Card-Mets series....the way things are going for the Mets though(nonwithstanding last night's 13 inning,5-3 victory over Arizona)Cards will probably still sweep the Mets.:(I can't get myself to believe in this Mets club yet, they've played around with Mets fans hearts only to break them time and time again since last September's seven game lead and historic collapse.

Ummm, has anyone heard from Abs??

The dude has to be hiding under the bed or in a trance wandering around town

babe, I feel your pain after yesterdays loss 20 RUNS?? WTF

Listen Cory, It's not the Cards fault, the Phillies are evil, they are demons from hell spawned by the devil. Ryan Howard is the anti Christ. They must be stopped. Not even Albert could have helped you yesterday.
Keep the faith Feel better babe, (*8*)

I don't wanna talk about it.

At some point last night, I started laughing at the game. "20 Runs WTF" pretty much sums its up sonny!!!

What's interesting is that the Cardinals have historically never done well on Friday the 13ths. I'll blame it on that

We have won the last 8 or 9 series. I would take that all season! Hopefully we can regroup and play for real today and tomorrow.

Oh - and sonny, I'm under your bed

Sonny,I think a game like that where the Mets were getting pounded like that would be the last straw for the beleaguered, shell shocked Mets fans the way things have gone so far this season. But just about always
games like that you just throw by the wayside and forget about it.They usually are aberrations and as embarassing and mortifying they are to watch, turn the page and start anew the next day.Card won today,3-2....see?nothing for Abs to be worried about at all.

There is an unholy trinity,an axis of all that is baseball evil,I would attest!Cubs,Phillies and Boston Red Sox represent all that is profane and unholy in MLB.:eek:God I loathe them!

A rout like that? That is about the only indignity that hasn't befallen the Mets and their fans this year. It's tough, but nightmare games happen....I guarantee you the Cards will just turn the page since they beat the Phillies 3-2 today.

Your Cards are doing fine,Abs.Much easier to root for as hustling underdogs than the Mets who were supposed to win the division with the acquisition of Johann Santana.20-2 was an aberration. But I know sonny love and comfort always make the pain go away instantaneously!Under his bed?I think if that ever happened,it would be awhile before you ever got around to talking baseball you guys would be so exhausted,LOL!

For both Abs and sonny:kiss:

Holy shit!(*U*)Mets-Texas rained out tonight, but before the Mets went to a replay game of Darryl Strawberrry's return to Shea Stadium in 1991,they played a tape of several incredibly hot Texas Rangers doing synchronized water slides and having fun on the soaked tarp at Shea!God,Players like Ian Kinsler,Michael Young,Milton Bradley and a few others definitely showed how multitalented and sexy baseball players can be!Oh my,I'm feelin' the vapors ...pass me a fan!:gogirl:Sonny and all you other New York area baseball fans....hope they replay it on the SNY Network!:D

That slip and slide was awesome, what a lot of fun that had to be.
I was waiting for some Mets to come out but they didn't :(

Damn rain out, i rushed home from my game to watch the Mets continue to roll,
I dono if both games today will be televised, the first one is not on SNY but 11 instead, maybe the second will be on SNY, I sure hope so.
Game two will be played soon after game one, which is good cause the Mets fly out to the west coast tonight. I would not a repeat of what happened last week when they got to the hotel at 5 in the morning and had to play tired the next day.

So what do you think of Trot Nixon coming to the Mets?
DONO where he is going to play yet but, the Mets are short two corner outfielders with Moises Alou and Ryan Church on the disabled list, but Endy Chavez is likely to get most of the starts in right till Church gets back.
I doubt he is the same player he was when he was in Boston, where he helped the Red Sox to the world championship in 2004. But I guess Omar thinks he has something left. I checked Nixon out and he was batting .309 with 10 home runs and 31 RBIs in 58 games at Triple A Tucson. I like that!
Rememeber when he was with Boston and called Alex Rodriguez a clown, then of course there was that mohawk haircut, so the dude is interesting and could be fun on and off the field. got , plus I like how he never gave up, instead went back to the minors, that tells me something about him. he's a gamer and a scrapper who isn'r afraid to get dirty, remember the "Boston Dirt Dogs".

Abs, like Saucy said don't worry about the cards, it was just an aberration, we Mets fans have learned to let that roll off.
Oh, and you can hide under my bed anytime. (*8*)

Check out those Rangers
