Shocks me too.Boston has to be careful with Tampa...they are real good and real hungry,and won't easily go away.The Boston staff must make adjustments now,or risk an early second round elimination.Even as a Boston hater,I want to see a battle over a quick,sudden surrender.Saw too much of that already with the Mets and Yankees.Beckett and Lester have really dug a hole for Red Sox Nation,lets see if the Sox have it in them to show guts and fight starting tomorrow.

As much as I hate those Phillies, (and don't tell Sausy I said this) I have to admire their fighting spirit. Watching Victorino and Stairs deliver those two-run homers in the eighth inning had me thinking about the Mets and how often they did that. Good baseball!

Looks like Hamels, can pitch the Phillies to their first World Series since 1993 on Wednesday night. He goes against Billingsley who needs to do better than his last outing.
Of course I am still hopefull of a Dodgers come back winning three in a row.

I think he allowed 12 earned runs on 18 hits over his 9 innings in two postseason games, if I am not wrong I also think he missed time recently because of an elbow problem and some kind obliquea strain. I seem to remember some sportscaster sayin Beckett got an injection of a painkiller and an anti-inflammatory the last weekend of the regular season.
Plus didn't have this problem in August? and if so why would the Sox put their ace in jeopardy. Could it be the oblique? add that to the rust of having pitched little in the final months of the season? You can see it in his fastball (or lack of it) and should he pitch Game 6 which would be his next start?

Another win for PhillyI am so with you on this one,sonny!It looks like they'll get to the WS,and the only way I'll be happy is for Tampa to finish off Boston(other than Dice-K,their pitching looks VERY vulnerable now)and take it to the Phillies and shock the baseball world.And I've even said I respect their toughness,heart and resiliency sonny....but damn if I'm actually going to root for them....damn right we're not bad people for hatin on the Phillies,just huge Mets fans!

My nephews live in the Doylestown area and are big Phillies fans....they just don't know any better!(My brother in law came from Brooklyn and is a huge Mets fan as well,but the Phillies are all they've ever known)....well tough I hope the Rays make a Philly steak sandwich out of the Phillies.....so even family doesn't get in the way of my Phillies hatin!(Though otherwise they're great and I love my nephews dearly)

Tampa leads Boston 6-1 in the sixth and Tampa bombs are flying out of Fenway...this is getting ugly really fast.This Tampa club if its pitching holds will be a tough club as long as they keep the core together......Boston AND the Yankees will have their work cut out for them battling for AL East supremacy in the near future.

I feel your pain, it had to be rough watching Wakefield go just 2 2/3 innings, and allow five runs on six hits. must be taking lessons from Ollie Perez things can't be good when the Sox ask a 40+ year old who barely throws 70mph, hasn’t pitched in like two weeks, and has one of the highest postseason ERAs to help them get the job done.


But keep the faith dude, anything is possible when it comes to the playoffs.
