The Official 2009 MLB Thread!

Can you believe the Sox lost THREE out of the four game series with the A's?

Seriously, the A's????? Before the series I thought the games had 'Sox' written all over it, but I guess I was wrong! The sox had no runs in two of the games!

I was at Tuesday's game and it started off good but got suckie real quick towards the bottom of the fifth inning (which I believe) when the A's got about 3 runs in with 1 out.

Phillies are in first place and the Mets and Cards are not. (!)

So sorry Sonny, Sausy and ABS :p

Not really

Gumby, the poor Nats might as well give up and try again next year. :(
Well, the Mets have been swept by Pittsburgh and looked awful. The Phillies have stepped up.Congrats for now is all I can say at the moment Scrub, but things have a way of turning around;)(though for the past two seasons the Mets haven't figured the secret out)#-o

Gumby, sorry about your Nats but never lose hope.....they're your hometeam and a couple of years now they could be in a very different situation. At least they will have another top pick in the draft.

Randy Johnson has had an incredible career....it tok him into his late twenties to become a real force in the game and though he hasn't been as consistent and sharp the last few years it's good to see him get that #300 win.Who knows with the way the game is today when the next one to get to that magic number will get there?

Randy Johnson has had an incredible career....

Most amazing Randy Johnson stat I heard after he won #300 was that in his entire career only once did he give up 3 hits to a player in a game.

Wow!

The Birdnals, after sucking for about 5 games in a row, have won two in a row!

The only good thing I can really say about the Mets play against the Phillies the past three days is we won game 1 in rousing, clutch fashion. The past two nights smacked us back to reality.:(

Nats start a three-game series at NY Yankees.

Tue, Jun 16 @ NY Yankees 7:05 PM
Wed, Jun 17 @ NY Yankees 7:05 PM
Thu, Jun 18 @ NY Yankees 1:05 PM

Any thought about the rumor that Manny Acta, may get fired and replaced by Bobby Valentine?
There are a lot of Mets fans who wanted and still want him to manage the Mets.

Nationals 3, Yankees 0 Final
2-win streak.... :gogirl:
Whatever else that can be said for the Nat's wild season,at least Gumby and all Capitals fans can say they took two out of three from the Yankees in New York and even in their first game loss made the Bronx Bombers look quite ordinary in their new home run launching pad.And having another first pick in the MLB draft next year, the Nats may not be too far away from giving real competition to the Mets and Phillies.

I'm shocked someone actually cares about the nats. Well I shall continue waiting for the Astros patented second half run to the top of the Central.

I totaly get that devotion and dedication
A real fan, as kinggumby surely is, will stick by their team through good times and bad. We need more real baseball fans like that :=D::=D:

Has anyone else noticed that those pesky Marlins are heating up again?
They have won nine of their last 15 games and lead the NL East in wins
They are just three losses behind the Phillies for first place.

While Mets fans like me are watching what the Phillies are doing the Marlins are catching up and could pass us by on the way to first.

Why are they doing so well? it's all about the pitching, and dudes they have go that.
Starting with Josh Johnson who has thrown seven straight Quality Starts, pitching in to the seventh inning in six straight games.

So should Mets fans forget worring about the Phillies and start worrying about the Marlins?
Well, could be but I think the Phillies will bounce back and the Marlins will head back to join the Nats.
Or at least that is what I keep telling myself. ;)

Those bastards nearly gave me a heart attack in 2006 ;)

S'ok - the Cards still have a one game lead in the NL Central! (!)

3 out of 4 at CitiField,Abs!

That's all I'm gonna say!

^ We'll call the sweep of the Mets at Busch in April by the Cards even then, Sausy

One more series left, two games at CitiField August 4&5....if we split them,THEN we can call it even, dear Abs!:p

waits......
For what?

Orioles 11, Nationals 1 Final

O's take Game 1 of the Battle of the Beltways...

Stephen Strasburg still unsigned....
It's going to be a tough negotiation with Scott Boras, but I think the Nats will get it done.He means a ton to their future.

I will most definitely take Mark DeRosa for Chris Perez any day of the week!!! (!)
