Erh, this site owners were Canadians and they build a strong international presence here. I am pretty sure the new owners would like to keep this presence here. And just because the new owner is American, that doesn't you can shit all over JUB with your local news. It's bad enough CE&P is dominated by American politics, why bring it over to Hot Topics?

I'd love it if the mods made a sticky thread about lusting after straight guys and what you should do about it (leave them the fuck alone, jerk off about them in private if you really can't help yourself, and make more gay friends).

I think we need a CONTENT WARNING in Hot Topics, to be applied by the OP if he thinks of it, and by the Mods for any thread about shit, piss, pus, or great roiling blobs of worm-eaten flesh. Or, you know, anything really GROSS.

Most of the things that annoy me about JUB are types of comments, not types of threads. People who comment without reading the thread annoy the hell out of me, especially when they present some "fact" in comment 64 that was presented in comment 2 and refuted with proof in comment 4.

It also pisses me off when people apparently search the threads for certain keywords (which I won't mention here to avoid yet another boring firestorm) and post the same screed about it wherever it appears. I've Ignored a few people for that reason (well, that and the way they start whining and namecalling when I tell them to cut it out).

Yeah, you're going to have to just suck that up. I wish it could be confined to CE&P, but unfortunately that's not the policy here. I don't usually come to JUB to discuss politics, but every so often I get caught up in one of those discussions...and I'm appalled by the stupidity on display (like "since the one guy isn't quite good enough, send him a message by voting for someone you KNOW is WORSE").

That said, however, American politics affects the entire world. Personally I think the rest of the world should have some say in it for that reason. But if you looked at some of the current Republican slate and read up on them, you'd be terrified. From "conquer and enslave all those furriners" to "let's just send drones to assassinate any foreign leader we don't care for" (and no, of COURSE they don't put it that way) there are some really terrifying possibilities there.

And you can't do anything about it...except by conversing with people who can vote in US elections.

Please note: I'm not talking about how things OUGHT to be. I'm talking about the reality you can expect in 2012. The Americans here are going to get quite heated, and it really matters who wins that election, just as US deregulation of the banks ultimately brought down the world financial system.
