I don't even care for our politics and elections, but you do look a bit foolish complaining about how much Americans post about our politics. It's not tough to just ignore such threads. Even though my post wasn't addressed to you, I'm thinking it pretty much applies. Your response was telling.

It's not Americans posting about their politics that gets up my nose, its how little Americans post about the politics in the rest of the world, or even how little awareness of the rest of the world is in evidence.

96% of us are out here, somewhere else, somewhere that will not be voting for the US Congress this year. We like posting about the States, we even like the States. But it gets tiresome to hear nothing but, and to have other conversations drowned out by the clamour to discuss whether Michelle Bachman's husband takes it up the ass and what effect that will have on the Primaries.

It's time to pay attention to what's going on outside the States with as much interest and as much seriousness, because it matters to an international audience, and it should also matter to Americans. If the International audience can have an opinion, good or bad, about the States, then absolutely Americans can start having opinions about what's going on elsewhere and post about it. I mean imagine if everybody posted about Ukraine all the time. In every thread. I'd lose my mind at that too.

As to who owns the site, the whole point of the interNet is that it is interNational. And it does bug me a bit to be told to get used to 24/7 USA A-Okay just because an American bought the site from Canadians.
