Torchwood

It's hard to have a complete reaction to episode three. I don't have Starz, so I've been watching the live stream of it through Netflix. They seemed to have a problem with their servers last night, the player keep freezing.

But, from what I was able to see, I wasn't that impressed with episode three.

Got to agree one story line over ten episodes seems too long. Too much padding in it. Would have been better if it was the same as Children Of Earth with just 5 episodes or going back to the original episode format with different plots in each. If anything is going to ruin it it will be the american need for big explosions and car chases.

Been reading on some forums that the scene with the differences in language is patronising. Thought it was quite funny myself.

Can't please everyone I suppose. Big Hoo-Haa over the sex scene. Lots of complaints about something very short.;)

Oh yep expect lots of abuse for this one, know what don't care, my opinion anyway:badgrin:..|

I like this format. I like well developed storyline and so far this season is making me very happy.

I really enjoyed the first two episodes of the new season. However, Friday's third episode was extremely weak.

I am actually really getting into this season but Rex is so wholly unlikeable it's difficult to watch. He is so hypocritical. He berates Esther for going to see her family, after he'd gone to see his dad!

WTF?!

To be fair, Esther's visit to her family BEFORE they left for their hiding out destination gave Phicorp the opportunity to pick up the team for surveillance etc.

When Rex went to see his dad they were already in LA.

I'd rather have a different episode every week. The first two season were great, I don't see reason to have changed the show.

And I hated Children of Earth, Russell T Dimwitt ruined his own show for no good reason that I can see.

This new series is too much like primetime American TV. If I wanted to watch that there are 4 different versions of CSI I could watch. Plus dozens of other channels with similar programming.

And while I'm ranting. What's up with the new open? Why did they feel the need to change it. I'm a video editor...I could create their new open in about 15 minutes on the right computer.

The sex scene was bullshit.A lot of us were concerned all the gay would be taken out of the show to suit less tolerant american audiences. But it was so forced like "look we have gay scene here, so we didnt sell out."

Fuck that. all the steam was taken right out of it since they just had to intercut it with straight sex. Rex can barely breath, has an open wound thats constantly bleeding, then all of a sudden he's having sex with the doctor? WTF?

Rex (Mekhi) seems to be the main character just as much or moreso than Jack is. He gets way too much screen time. Because god forbid there be a male lead who fucks guys.

I'm not going to post any spoilers.

But, I just watched episode 5 and it seemed totally pointless to me.

I'm getting more and disappointed with Miracle Day.

I thought last night's episode was pretty good actually. The reveal about what Phicorp and the collaborators (the world's governments) are up to...WHOOOAH!

When does this air in the UK?

I have a comment about episode 5 that I want to make, but don't want to spoil the episode for people who haven't seen it yet.

this current season is a very strange thing. it's almost as if the producers deliberately set out to bore people. sooo slooowww.

The most recent episode was complete filler, with the exception of the last minute or so. Sad. I hope they pick up... and having dragged it on for so long, I hope there is a genuinely good denouement.

I was holding back saying until it aired in the UK.

Russell T Dumnuts strikes again. He introduces us to Dr. Vera, we sort get to know and like her, so he kills her.

I do not understand his need to kill off his own creations.

I'm enjoying the series so far, the past two episodes about the overflow camps dragged on a bit, and I hope Esther stops being an idiot, i really like her character but she is so dumb.

Is jack going to have another gay sex scene in the series, the next week trailer looked like him and that other guy in the past have a thing and i'm sure i read there is more sex, i just want to see Capt. Jack more :) and it not be interspersed with Rex.

6 episodes in and I do like this series but I agree 10 episodes are too long or maybe had it been 10 days straight like COE I would have not though it as long. If it gets a new season I say 10 episodes but this time give use 2 arcs that are 5 episodes each.

BTW poor Vera I really like her, that was just horrible.

Last night's new episode sort of revealed the whole catalyst for how Miracle Day got started.

And it was such utter bullshit.

Well....after six episodes...at least something is starting to make sense with the "miracle" - However, I must admit...I'm not exactly thrilled. But now that I'm halfway through the entire thing and the new doctor who wont be on until next week...I'm somewhat committed to it.

The 'reveal' was a little bit of a let down. The moral of the story is, if you're immortal, don't reveal it to lovers you barely know.

Meh.

With only three episodes to go, I'll sit through it. Shame there wasn't more Jilly Kitzinger. Good there wasn't more Oswald Dane.

"Children of Earth" remains the pinnacle for this series.
