Uefa Euro 2008

Seemed like Germany left their shooting boots in the changing room.

I believe some players also forgot their skill #-o the first 45 mins my friends and I mainly spent guessing what they did the night before the game, and which drugs must have been involved ;)

Here is the last "top" English referee from the 2006 World Cup.

FIFA sent him home. Pronto.

He lives in Tring, a small town in Hertfordshire, hence the references:

And now we have France v Holland!

This is going to be a cracker. Sit back, hold on to your seats and just enjoy!

But, as always, watch the officials...

Very impressive game by Holland again!!!

Come on Holland!

I've backed them since World Cup 1994 and been disappointed - hopefully, this is their year.

How spectacular were the Henry, Robben and Sneijder goals?

I'm beginning to think Stan may have picked it - and I wouldn't be unhappy to see Holland win.

This controversy continues to rage:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/euro_2008/7363070.stm

Remember, WW2 was started by Germany invading Poland. No love lost between the 2 nations.

The Poles feel the Germans have been given an assist into the next stage by Howard Webb's "penalty" decision in the Austria - Poland game.

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/football/international/euro_2008/article4133238.ece

UEFA have given Webb their full support. But will he get another chance to referee in EURO 2008? Do pigs fly?

w0w!

Just when it looked like a certain draw for Spain, my hero... David Villa... saves the day! (!)

¡¡Viva David Villa!!

Greece, thanks zeus, are out.

So Russia v Sweden next week will be interesting.

^ Good to see such an intelligent, witty, and knowledgeable poster on this thread: uofagay .

Must be a ManUtd follower...ie: having not a clue of what football is all about.

But back on topic:

Croatia 2 Germany 1. :=D::=D::=D:

Makes the next game tonite - Austria v Poland - more interesting, but Croatia and Germany are almost certain to go thru' to the next stage.

well plus he's a Euro, so at the slightest touch he takes a dive

What a game for Turkey, from 2-0 down to 3-2 for them... a red card for Volkan!!! And the Turks have no right for more substitutes so a player has to take his place... not a GK... what a drama!!!

Day 9

Turkey vs. Czech republic

3-2

Switzerland vs. Portugal

A couple of shockers today.

Turkey comes from behind 0 - 2 to win 3 - 2 and I never would have dreamed that Switzerland would beat Portugal, especially 2 - 0.

I was really surprised that Switzerland won as well...Pity they couldn't play like that for the first two matches. The Swiss are having a sucky sports year...:(

It seems that all I have to do is root for a team and that team goes straight to hell...#-o

First Switzerland :(

Now France???

Does anyone I like ever win?

Oh yeah! But that's tennis...;)

Russia v Sweden is the game to watch tonite.

Will be interesting to see if the huge amounts of money being poured into Russian football by very dubious Russian billionaires will influence the outcome. Watch the officials.

Meanwhile England's "top referee", Howard "The Spinner" Webb, has been awarded another UEFA chance in the meaningless Greece v Spain game.
