United States Presidential Election, 2020.

Biden 253, Trump 214

Within spitting distance.

An hour ago or so, Fox News called Michigan for Biden too. Everything's going to be ok.

Good God I can breathe again. It's been a very stressful couple of days for me at least.

Trump is appealing to the SCOTUS to throw out mail-in ballots in PA received after election day but postmarked before the election. The court has already turned down this request once already.

It could be the closest ever: it's looking like Biden will get exactly 270.

But I just heard the radio say there's already a court case filed by the Trump campaign; I didn't catch the state name but apparently there have been 3.2 million votes cast but there are only 3.1 million voters.

Doesn't Trump have a reputation for threatening legal action but rarely going through with it?

The claim is being made on Facebook about Wisconsin. The claim is that 3,239,920 votes were cast and that there are only 3,129,000 registered voters. Factcheck has confirmed that the actual number of registered voters in Wisconsin as of Nov 1 was 3,684,726. So the claim is false. Also, Wisconson allows same-day registration so the number of registered voters could be higher on election day.

Fox News calls Arizona for Biden.
Very interesting...THEM calling Aridzone??? That state is looking pretty damned precarious right now, but thankfully there are also a good number of uncounted votes in Pima County.

That's one of the best turnouts I've ever heard of, in ANY election, in ANY U. S. state.

if Nevada stays blue then Biden wins - they are a blue state and they voted Clinton not trump in 2016 - Trump can demand recounts in any states that are less than a 1.1% victory for Joe but none of those states are so close that there has ever been that big of a difference that it would be overturned - and all this talk of lawsuits is smoke and mirrors - no one is going to accept a lawsuit to prevent legitimate votes from being counted...

we didnt get back the senate - and we lost ground in the house but still remain majority - this is always the way with Americans - they didnt vote Joe in they voted trump out - but they will check the power that Joe has by holding the senate...

So as of this morning, Trump has a chance in Arizona but it is uncertain if the rate of new Trump votes will keep up. Biden has a chance in Georgia and the rate of new Biden votes are keeping up. Republicans are rallying to launch challenges in Georgia to invalidate as many votes as they can to head that off. Seriously we need PA to turn blue as that would settle all this.

There is no checking the power even if we had the Senate. Joe Biden has already made clear he wants to work with Republicans. Even as recent as yesterday he has made this pretty clear. I am telling you now, do not get your hopes up of of any Republican being held accountable for anything they did these last shit show of 4 years.

Yes.

And he has tiny hands, so his grip on power might be easier forced loose than people are imagining.

That's one of the best turnouts I've ever heard of, in ANY election, in ANY U. S. state.

Traditionally, we would have agreed, but considering the reasons for it, it is the worst turnout. People who knew their president welcomed Ukranians and Russians and Chinese to interfere in this election clamored to re-elect him. People who knew the environment was being trashed and science and doctors made pawns were eager to re-elect the man who was hurting the air we breathe and the hospitals we are filling as we die. People who countenanced the most powerful man in the country disparage veterans and prisoners of war, while their party sat silently by, eagerly voted for four more years, in record numbers.

I would not call that good.

It is really sad that this is even close at all.

This.

More than anything the doofumbuss in charge can do, nothing can excuse the inactions and silence of those who know the law, know the government, and know the truth.

To do anything possible to remain in power, including voting no on impeachment, means we have a system corrupt beyond redemption. Fully expect Biden to be stonewalled just as Obama was to prevent any reforms at all from passing, and in four years, there to be a grassroots movement to run Trump again, giving the GOP fits as it tries to right itself from this wallowing in the mud.

If there is an Air B&B on Elba, we should be renting it now. And if St. Helena has a prison, we should donate to its reinforcement and renovation.

There are complaints that Arizona was called too early and may still be in play. Which is amusing since Fox News is the one that called it early.

Here is fox news doubling down on Arizona after people questioned them.

It is great to see Trump melting down this morning over Pennsylvania as his huge lead now looks, based on the proportion of votes that have gone to Biden so far, and the remainder to be counted, like it might end up being a 100,000 vote margin for Biden/Harris.

So one of the claims being tossed about Trump supporters is that some voting precincts in Wisconsin and elsewhere are showing over 100% voter participation and claiming this is proof of vote fraud. The example I had given me was a list of precincts in one city with the registered voters and the number of votes. Of the hundred or so precincts, seven had more than 100% voter participation with the largest having 48 more votes.

Now here is the problem I'm having trouble getting them to understand, Wisconsin allows same-day voter registration right up to the day of the election. Which means you can walk into the polling place, register, and then vote. So finding a small number of precincts getting over 100% in an election that has 90% participation overall (isn't it grand!) is not something to be alarmed about. Reviewed for irregularities yes but it is not proof of anything.

These Trump chumps are grasping at straws and throwing whatever they can at the wall to see if it will stick.
