US Withdrawal from Afghanistan

How can you tell a major ethnic group of Afghan from Southern European ? I cannot.
At 0.09 below:

You probably aren't aware that there is Macedonian DNA in the mix all the way from the time of Alexander the Great...as well as that of the British, Russian and American empires that have spent time occupying Afghanistan.

Also....it is on the Silk Road and other major trading routes.

^ People are not aware that the XIXth century reshaped the world much more deeply than just technologically or artistically: the Mediterranean basin and its "outskirts" (like one would consider Afghanistan, according to your very comment) was such a melting pot that it was impossible to seriously consider the idea of "ethnic/race purity", so that it all came down to religious beliefs when they wanted to discriminate and establish hierarchies; it was not until rosy or lily peoples who had been relatively isolated until then or, at least, with population flows relatively limited in their reach, started to spread all over the world, that the notion of racial purity and superiority of ONE single ethnicity started to become the norm, when that belief had been so widespread among the different world ethnicities and nationalities, that they would all neutralize each other without allowing one to prevail over the others... they lacked the technological and military power, and the wicked and perverse intellectual justification in a twisted interpretation of a borrowed literary tradition, the biblical one.

Of course, now the country can get back to doing what it does best.

It could not have ended any other way, this is a country divided up by warring tribal warlords. A harsh land inhabited by a harsh people.

Adam Kinzinger has it right.

I don't do "both parties" very often, but in this instance I agree, both parties have plenty of blame for this mess. In a nutshell he says, Trump set it up and Biden executed it poorly. Although, I am quite certain Trump could not have executed the evacuation any better. Watch the interview (it is only 3 minutes) especially where Kinzinger lays into the right-wing media for the fear-mongering of Afghan refugees.

GOP congressman places blame on Trump admin for crisis in Afghanistan: 'They set this up to fail' [CNN]

"Let's keep in mind, (former Secretary of State) Mike Pompeo met with the Taliban. As Donald Trump was publicly saying, 'We have to get out of Afghanistan at all costs. It's not worth it,' Mike Pompeo meets with the Taliban and tries to negotiate something," Kinzinger, who represents Illinois, told CNN's Brianna Keilar on "State of the Union."
"They set this up to fail. But always, of course, Joe Biden could have easily turned this around, and instead used it as the excuse to get out," he added.

I respect the man and his decision.

There was no easy answer or solution and he did what a good leader should do (and others failed to do). He made a hard decision and owned it. ..|

I listened to Domonic Raab, quite a nasty piece of work, you can google his name.

What has he said about China and Russia in relation to Afghanistan?

Dominic Raab [Wiki]

On Sunday, as Kabul fell to the Taliban, Mr Raab was spotted at Crete's five-star Amirandes Hotel, which describes itself as a 'sparkling boutique resort for the privileged and perceptive'.

Dominic Raab was 'too busy' on holiday to help brave translators: As Kabul airport descends into hellish anarchy, Foreign Secretary 'delegated' crucial call to Afghan opposite number (Daily Mail; updated August 20, 2021)

If you compared to China and Russia's offer to Afghanistan,
Raab actually didn't offer anything uselfull to Afghanistan, that is he offered zero to Afghanistan. In my opinion that is nasty to Afghanistan.

I did not ask about China and Russia’s offer to Afghanistan. I also did not ask about What Raab offered to Afghanistan.

UK is responsible for Afghanistan.
He did not say much meant he is nasty for not taking responsibility as representative of the UK government.

How is the UK responsible for Afghanistan?

I'm pretty much exhausted with apocalypse reporting. Media deregulation gave us all this world where the scariest headline rules, and talking heads jabber about doom 24/7 in pursuit of ratings and the resulting cash. Even the responsible fact based reporting does it. It was too much to hope that anyone would wait to see how the entire evacuation was going to go before endlessly reporting how much of a global disaster it was.

It's Bill Clinton's fault.
