Waiting and Waiting to see the doctor

Infection sometimes causes a euretheral stricture, either a narrowing of the tube from inflammation or scar tissue. The doctor can widen the tube by inserting a thin metal "round" after applying lidocaine. Sounds bad but it is not.

I hope it's not a stricture. It can be very troublesome. Thanks for your advice.

Doesn't sound like U.S. system because even with Obamacare now or no medical insurance, you can still find access to specialists much faster than 2-3 months of wait times.

Thanks for your advice.

Relax. you're working yourself up way too much. your lab results weren't terribly out of line and your ultrasound studies were normal. you sound like you might have a little ocd going on. I guarantee if the GP thought there was something serious happening they'd have gotten you in sooner. as mentioned drink plenty of water and you can try the cranberry juice. keep your foreskin clean and most importantly RELAX. you'll be just fine.

Steven

Thanks for your advices, Steven.

Wonder why people have to wait for so long to see these "specialists".
No competition for them i guess. Thats why people go to Thailand or India for excellent medical treatment.
These countries produce very high quality medical services.

Are you sure about that?

Okay, right now, I'm worried and scared that I may have uretheral cancer or a stricture.

I went online, to Wikipedia and do a quick research and find out that I have most of the symptons mentioned.....waking up at night to urinate, painful urination, blood in the urine, diminished urine stream, pain after ejaculation, recurrent urine tract infections

Right now, I'm very scared and worried right now.

I just pray and hope it's not cancer or stricture. I hope it's not uretheral, prostrate or bladder cancer.

I am going to voice my concerns to the specialist when I see him in two weeks time.

So I see my urologist this Wednesday. And he arrange for me to go for a cystoscopy next Wednesday as I seems to keep having recurrent urinary infections.

I'm worried and scared about.....what if the cystoscopy reveals something bad?

Basically, they will put a scope with a camera into my penis urethra and then check for anything.

My guess is that a stricture is the most likely possibility from your symptoms. If so, the doctor may break it with the cystoscope or insert a metal rod to break through and you will pee like a 20 year old. Not a big deal.
Bladder cancer, I believe, is usually a mushroom like tumor on a stalk and the doctor just cuts it off in the early stage.
Did either doctor do a PSA and/or finger-rectal exam? That should eliminate prostate cancer, and restricted flow is not often an symptom of prostate cancer. None of you symptoms sound like prostate cancer.

I should have added, another explanation for your symptoms is Benign Prostate Hyperplasia (enlargement). Many older men experience enlargement of the prostate which restricts the flow. It is not cancer. I suggest you google it. It can be treated by drugs and other methods.

I hope it's not stricture. I read on the internet that stricture has a high re-occurrence rate. It can be a life long management.

I just don't want to be stuck dealing with stricture my whole life.

Please let us know what the doctor says. Yes, strictures do have a high rate of occurrence, but it is a relatively quick procedure in the doctors office.

So I went to do the cystoscope today and everything turn out fine and normal.

One of the doctor suggest that I have circumcision since I have trouble keeping my penis head clean( underneath the foreskin) and I tend to keep having urinary tract infections.

The doctor advise me to pull over my foreskin and wash everyday.

But should I go for circumcision ??

Try the hygiene suggestion first.

If that doesn't work, then consider the surgical option. Adult circumcisions are not fun.

Do you drink cranberry juice? It is said to help prevent UTIs. I suggest that you ask the doctor to give you a prescription for an antibiotic to keep on hand to use when you begin experiencing the fever or other symptoms. Perhaps use probiotic capsules.
There is no guarantee that circumcision will prevent the UTIs.

Okay, thanks.

I may not want to go for circumcisions. Because once you cut away the foreskin, it's gone forever. You can never have it back.

And I heard that the foreskin has nerves. So if you cut it off, it will be less pleasureable for you to have sex.

So last Wednesday, I went for the cystoscopy.

After the cystoscopy, I have fever and keep going to the toilet to urinate.

I thought the procedure is supposed to be very safe and low risk. I kind of regret agreeing to do the scope.

I went to the polyclinic to see a general pratictioner. He ordered a urine test for me.

And the urine test confirm I have urinary infections. I have over 154 white blood cells in my urine and 8 red blood cells in my urine.

I'm very scared and frightened.

The general practioner prescribed "Augmentin" for me to take.

But I don't know if "Augmentin" is effective or not.

I am waiting for the laboratory test result of my urine. The lab culture test will show what is the bacteria present in my urine.

You should not be frightened. You now know it is only a urinary infection and should be quickly ended with antibiotics. Augmentin should work, but Cipro and Levequin are often used as well. Relax it is almost over. You are probably already cured.

Are you washing and keeping up with your hygiene daily?

I assume the cystoscopy did not reveal any problem, like a stricture, etc.?

Thanks. I would like to know.....is it okay for me to masturbate.....or should I masturbate only AFTER the urinary tract infection is gone??
