Attention What are you doing at the moment? 2024-25

On several of the recipe sites where soda cracker pie was featured, comments always mentioned the Ritz Cracker recipe. I've had the "mock apple" pie before. It's not bad. Not great, but not bad.

I made the most of my two. One was topped with whipped cream filled with crush raspberries and some fresh blueberries. Everyone at work loved it.

Today, I took the second, and topped it with whipped cream filled with mandarin oranges, bananas, and fresh pineapple. They loved it, too. One of my favorite guys exclaimed "HOLY SHIT!!!" when I set his piece on his desk over in engineering. I can live on that compliment for months.

😭
The raspberry and blueberry ones sound wonderful. The other one sounds like you are on your way to an ambrosia pie. Lol

I used to love that Ambrosia recipe an Aunt would make with the mini marshmallows.

Fat little kid.

The raspberry-blueberry one was very nice. I just added the blueberries for interest and one of my team said it tasted like blackberry. Interesting.

I intentionally swung the 2nd one to a tropical mix for a change. I meant to add fresh peaches too, but forgot them in the basement. The same team member mentioned his grandmother used to make a salad . . . .

I totd him it was ambrosia. Of course, my grandmother made it the right way with sour cream and coconut, but so many folks are babies now about coconut, and many substitute whipped cream or Cool Whip for the sour cream, but the sour cream makes it perfect.

TrYiNg to get through to the end of the week.

One thing on top of another this week.

Besides the death of a client, and the heat, I think it was food poisoning yesterday.

And then I dropped my phone into a pail of water.

And today I am:

Eating at my mother's house, after I realized I needed to pick up my passport there to travel to Antwerp Gay Pride from Amsterdam tomorrow.

I am also listening to a huge Parliament of Crows to the east of the house.

There must be hundreds...

A sure sign of later summer.

Just looked at some Google street view photos of a house where my family lived for a brief period in the 1970s. I'd guess we were there only a few months, maybe a year. I was young then, but I can vaguely recall the house--although my memories are more of the inside than the front. But I don't need good memories of the front to tell that the front yard was totally redone since our time, although I think some plants would be ones my parents might remember being there if they were still alive and seeing that photo.

It's a nice looking house. I wouldn't mind owning it, except A) owning a house is not in my budget, B) if I could own a house, I really wouldn't want one in that city, and C) if I look past the city as a whole, the house is located just a little too close to a problem area for my comfort.

I had a 2 hour nap today too other than that I’ve done nothing productive

Finishing up some items that need to get sent out first thing tomorrow morning and going up later to finish my mystery novel and have a nap.

At Northalsted Market Days in Chicago, waiting for David Archuleta's show. I'm in the VIP lounge now...but it's not near David's stage.

I went to Burger King to pick up a breakfast sandwich and coffee and on the way out a big rubbish truck was ahead of me at the traffic light after emptying a business rubbish container. The truck had a ladder on the back of it and a raccoon was climbing the ladder. I followed the truck a few blocks and the raccoon went to the top of the truck to explore and was probably looking for a way off.

Just got back from the Nail Salon. Now that I am overweight and old I have trouble trimming my toe nails, so I went to a salon to get them cut. I am about to go to the mall to walk because it is too hot outside to walk now.

I am as always...working...but also in trouble with a back problem to the point of having to take T3's...so I suspect in a short while, I am going to have to go and lay down for a nap.
