I've said this before here, but I'd rather have a canned tomato than a grocery store tomato much of the time. It frankly seems pointless bothering with sour and flavorless fresh tomatoes.Tacos. With canned diced tomatoes because (a) I'm too lazy to go to the store and (b) the tomatoes at the store are flavorless.
I'm sure someone will complain we are out of sour cream. See (a) above.

I saw a recipe video that included fresh tomato, and had a brief mention of the "best" choice for that perosn this time of the year. I'm glad the choice apparently works for him, but my choice--which works well for me--is just not to bother.
I vaguely recall chilli and cornbread (although the cornbread had no jalapenos) when I was growing up. I think the cornbread got inspired by me seeing it in a children's book of historic/old time American foods.
