What to do about North Korea.

Again North Korea point of view,
Military exercises are not threatening to the fat dictator ?

I thought I understood your question and I answered it, and now you ask another question that I don't understand. Either you don't understand our answers, you don't give a crap about our answers, or you don't even read our answers.

The whole North Korea Vs South Korea/US is about military exercises and weapon tests ....
Basically both sides are wrong.

It is not that simple. If the South and US stopped exercises, the North would continue because its ideology, justifying totalitarian government is the pretended threat of invasion.

If he thinks they're threatening, it's either because he's mentally impaired or because... he's mentally impaired. China knows the U.S. has no intention of invading, and they definitely make that clear to him to keep him calm. So he's either incapable of comprehending basic reality as his string-holders explain it, or he's deliberately ignoring the information they provide, or he's mentally ill and lets his fears overrule objective information.

And that's necessary for understanding North Korea: it doesn't have an ordinary government, it has a government that operates as though it is mentally deranged, whether because it really is mentally deranged or because it finds an advantage to behave that way.

Exactly. They play on the technical fact that the war isn't (legally) over to keep the populace from doing the natural thing and following East Germany's example of putting their country back together.

My somewhat unscholarly impression is that in the last days of the GDR, people had relative security and prosperity, education, food, and political expectations. At least they remembered and retained the capacity to form political expectations. I think East German communism was oppressive, but not quite totalitarian. By contrast I think North Korea has managed a far deeper totalitarian system. I worry that anything other than the government has atrophied to the point where the people don't have the capacity to challenge the government, let alone succeed should they depose it. I guess the obvious thing would be for the south to put the north on life support, but they diverge more every day.

The Kim regimes have been telling the North Korean people since the Korean war that the United States is warmongering nation that is out to destroy them and the North Korean Army, the Kim's partner in all things, is the only thing keeping them safe.

I don't think the Kim clan is telling the Noth Korean population anything they didn't already experience first hand. The USA bombed the living shit out of North Korea, and end some. Using that propaganda is effective because its happened and regardless of why you don't forget that type of horrific event. There are grandmother's who certainly remember vividly the sounds, screams of air raids and their childs guts strewn across their face while the child screamed in agony.

Perhaps the big three, China, America and North Korea can meet at a neutral spot and rattle expectations rather than swards. Two of the three would be loose cannons, but they would be temporally unarmed. I dream a dream.

^^^The only way that would happen now is if Hillary Clinton were President She was an EXCELLENT and Proven Statesman which is the first reason I decided to choose her. I said it here many times at the beginning.

Instead...we have a demented child and his fucking twitter crap starting wars...and without a doubt the absolute worst statesman imaginable....bar none...

The Supreme Court wasn't enough....

But yeah..those emails are worse than being hit with a nuclear bomb....](*,)

The next time I am down on myself ..I am going to go to the place where ANYONE WITH A WORKING BRAIN thought it was OK to let Trump in the White House...and I will immediately forgive myself for whatever it is I am bothered by...

People without a working brain get a pass...they don't know any better.

What did she accomplish as Secretary of State? The NoKorean problem existed all through her term and NK increased its power and nuclear ability. If she were president she would appease Kim and give him free food. It would look like peace but it is only allowing the problem to fester.
Trump will solve the problem because he has to. It cannot continue much longer, and Kim has alienated the Chinese and the Russians. Kim is close to declaring war.

I trust their opinion even more than my own.and DEFINITELY more than yours....

I also agree with Kissinger in the #1 spot.

You spread right wing talking points and propaganda so you would never acknowledge this...I get it....

My question was, "what did she accomplish?" Obviously you cannot think of anything either. But there was Benghazi, and all her email available to the Russians or whoever.

It's not obvious at all. Her accomplishments are public knowledge as are Trump's failures.

But, since you love other people to do your homework for you, how about this?

She drafted an act which ultimately lead to the ACA.

Oh, yeah. That's not an accomplishment to you.

How about the fact that she championed the Violence Against Women Act? Or how about the Adoption and Safe Families Act or the Foster Care Independence Act?

The list goes on and on.

I know you hate answering questions yourself, but name 1 thing that Trump has accomplished since January 20? (And I mean 1 accomplishment which has affected America or Americans in a GOOD way.)

I did not list anything because International Relations Scholars are that because they focus on the individual deeds and the whole picture...as have I.....

...and I knew you would mention Benghazi at which time I would have to mention all of the lives lost under each of the Secretaries and then you successfully derail the thread and the point...

...and my point is the same. Donald Trump has likely put all of us in serious harm's way with his assinine tweets...

Hillary Clinton understands the World Stage and understands diplomacy....and she would handle the situation much differently.

Trump has escalated a decades long conflict with ZERO understanding of his actions. He thinks it is funny to say whatever he likes...and it is, in fact, very dangerous.

Add to that the fact that he does it all on Twitter.

Clearly, allowing the "decades long conflict" to continue has enabled NK to build a giant military with nuclear weapons and ICBMs. Your mistake is in thinking that quiet, it is not a problem. Trump is doing what should have been done years ago. Hillary might have been quiet, but the military building would have continued.
