Because every site has those zones. As I mentioned before. FORT, which is a site for TV shows, has a section where people can talk about things not related to a tv show. It is usually how all sites are set up. There is a relgion section because a lot of people requested that section.

This site isn't about the forums. They are just here. This site is about selling porn. There is a community here. You are looking at it, and porn avatars don't hinder or destroy of really affect the community (it only seems to be affecting you).

No other site has these forums. And JD and Seth have gone to a lot of effort for the forums -- if they didn't mean there to be that kind of community, if the site weren't about that, too, they wouldn't have.

But, they were -- they were telling them to act sensibly, and with dignity, and to make room for people with differences. That's all I'm doing, too.

If there are going to be non-porn forums, they should be non-porn. Allowing porn there makes a mockery of "safe zone", just as would posting pictures of someone being shot, or hit by a truck, or mauled by a wild animal.

If I'm telling them how to act, what I'm saying is act with dignity, and good sense, and consideration for others -- and to stop upholding the stereotype that gays are sex-crazed, promiscuous types.

On a straight discussion site, if porn were allowed in avatars, it would be happening as well.

It's too bad you don't see that there are plenty of porn sites, but thanks to the efforts JD and Seth and the mods have put into the forums, there is nothing like JUB. If they just took care of this double standard, it would make JUB an even better place.

Besides, look at the forum menu again -- see the whole upper part of the page, and then "JUB's Naughty Bits - Adult Content Area"? That's an explicit statement that the stuff above there is NOT "Adult content area" -- in other words, if someone goes to anything in "Talk Amongst Yourselves", "On Topic Discussion - No Flame Zone", "Getting Together", or "JUB Stuff", they shouldn't have to encounter "adult content".

That's how the forums are labeled -- I'd just like it to be true.

That's not what the site says about itself. The titles don't, and the forums page is most explicit -- it's divided into two sections, only one of which is "adult content". That means the rest isn't.

Aside from it stating in the site terms of service and use that JUB is an ADULT site (not some sort of a public or community service) it also states...


And as was pointed out and outright rejected, you have the option to disable avatars, signatures and images.

If you don't like the avatars and sigs, then turn them off and disable image display for posts. You have been given the option by JUB to impose all the censorship you want that way without JUB censoring.

If the site still doesn't meet your personal expectations as is, then stop using the services.

It's that simple.

That logic would go this way...

The options only allow one approach to blocking -- not "censorship"; you're using the word incorrectly.

Yep -- like I just recently posted, it's about the quoted poster here not being able to restrain himself from trying to control everything by starting arguments, or joining arguments, that are usually off-topic, just because there's something he disagrees with.

But he's right, bradlee -- it isn't about porn, it's about respecting others, and letting the non-porn forums BE non-porn forums, and let the porn be where the forums menu says it is. Oh, in a way it's about porn -- about it not being imposed on everyone, everywhere, even when there are lots of guys who don't come here for porn -- and those who do, know where to go. And I suppose in a way it's about having a life that doesn't revolve around porn.

Not to be mean here, but you know this is a porn site... why do you remain here if it causes you this much distress? You say you're looking for some "community," but damn this one here for not being up to your expectations. You have your own issues like everyone else, but I know that when I needed the sounding board this community was there for me. I'm only sorry that you were not able to find it yourself.
